Looking for a 2 bedroom suite on Disney property..... In-laws and our family of 4 (total 6) looking to stay on property with transportation provided. In-laws footing the bill :cool1: so $$ isn't really an issue..... Going down for 3 nights in Oct to trick-or-treat :) Anyone have ideas???

Thanks - Talexfein

Take a look at the Home Away from Home category places. These include: Villas at Wilderness Lodge(MK area), Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas(Epcot/MGM area), Saratoga Springs(DTD) and Old Key West. A cabin at Fort Wilderness might also meet your needs. Some people may suggest renting points from a DVC(Disney Vacation Club) member but October is also Food and Wine Fest which is a popular time for members to be using their own points so availability can be an issue. None of them are bad choices and each have their own plusses. Have a great time.

Try the Contemporary or Polynesian resorts both are great and close to the Magic Kingdom. If you are a Florida resident or have an annual pass there are usually discounts during that time frame on the rate of the rooms. Enjoy and have fun you picked a great time of year to go to WDW :cheer2:

I have stayed in a 2BR at the AKL, which was wonderful.

In your situation, I have to agree wiht the other poster, the DVC 2 BR units will probably be your best bet. The washer/dryer and kitchen facilities are just wonderful.

A washer /dryer, kitchen isn't important - remeber in-laws have $$ we don't need that stuff :) Would love to stay at AKL - I will check it out thanks!!!

man, if money wasnt an issue...id go ALL out with either the Presidential suite in the Contemporary (my goal of goals is to stay there) or the Steeplechase Suite at the Boardwalk Inn.

if yu want to see pics, check out s u i t e d i s n e y.com, without the spaces, no idea why they block that site out.

Just an FYI - Disney does not offer discounts on Suites, for AP or Fla Resident.

We stayed in a 2 bdrm suite at the Grand Floridian in early December.

When you say price isn't an object, I hope you meant it--the 2 bdrm suite at GF runs about $1500 a night (and that was value season!).

Suites are never subject to any codes or discounts...you pay rack rate, all the time.

That is the cost of my next 5 day vacation!!! Even if money wasn't an object, I could not imagine spending that kind of money. Also - if money isn't an object, why don't you get separate concierge rooms at the AKL. That is what I would do. Cheaper but everyone has their privacy.

DH's company had a conference at the Contemporary in Feb. His staff guy who planned the whole thing was able to get him a 2 BR suite for the price of a regular room as a perk for booking the conference. I joined him there for a few days. This room was fabulous!!!! The view of the Magic Kingdom was extraordinary. Large space, beautiful artwork. Wow! We would never be able to afford this on our own, so it was an amazing bit of luck. I'd recommend this option for wonderful space, beautiful views, and fabulous location!

While this is true at all of the "true" Disney resorts, it is not true at the Swan/Dolphin. We stayed in a 2 BR Executive Suite at the Dolphin and got a great (well, at least by comparison) AAA rate of just under $700/night... normal rate is around $1300 as I recall. Call the Swan/Dolphin reservation line directly and ask for AAA/Entertainment or AP rates.

I wouldn't not count the 2 bdrm villas at the DVC resorts entirely:sctratchin

While it's true that renting points from a DVC member may not be in the cards at this point, Disney CRO holds their own inventory of rooms and a 2bdrm villa at any of the DVC's are very nice. Even if you don't cook or use the kitchen you still will get the extra space,a king bed in the master bdrm,a living room and balcony, jacuzzi tub in the master bath plus the 2nd bdrm and in room laundry. And although to book directly through Disney is more expensive than to rent points it will probably be less expensive than to book a suite. Just because you can afford to spend extra doesn't mean you have to. IMO the 2bdrm villas are every bit as nice...and yes, I've stayed in a suite at the GF on my honeymoon so I have something to compare it to.

Anyway...just some food for thought.

Have a great trip no matte what you decide:wave:

I have stayed at a 2 Bedroom Villa at a DVC resort many times and recently a 3 Bedroom Villa (Grand Villa) at a DVC resort and they are wonderful and luxurious, but if money were not an option I would definatly go with one of the non-DVC 2 Bedroom Suites. I love concierge and I love to be spoiled. I would either choose GF or Beach Club since I love the light colors and beachy atompheres of both those resorts.

The Dolphin has a great Executive Suite, here is the configuration for a 2 bedroom:

Don't know about the other resorts but when we were at the AKL last August, there was a discount offered on the one bedroom suites there (I think around $100 or $125 less than regular rate). Absolutely beautiful resort - can't wait to go back.

Enjoy wherever you decide to stay.

you really can't go wrong with any of the above.

We've stayed in suites at the GF, WL and AKL and also in 2br villas at Old Key West. As I said, you can't go wrong with any of those choices.

Since we usually stay for 2 to 3 weeks, we like having the kitchen and laundry facilities of OKW (and the 2 BR there is absolutely enormous for the 4 of us).

But for a short stay, I'd go with a concierge suite in the GF or AKL.
