2 Bedroom BCV question

We're planning a trip to BCV next May for a grand gathering (smaller version). :)

We'll have 6 adults (maybe 5), a 5 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Are 2 bedrooms there spacious enough for full occupancy? Is there an extra dresser or closet space so everyone can unpack and be comfortable? I would much rather do a 2 bedroom vs. 3 studios so we can have more time together, yet still have our own space when needed. Plus we'd have the full kitchen/living room space and would use fewer points.

We've only stayed at DVC once so far and stayed in a studio at AKV so I'm not sure if we'd be that cramped. Any input/suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Also, please correct me if I'm wrong in that we can technically have 9 people in an 8 room occupancy suite if the 9th person is 2 or younger?

Thank you

I am fairly new myself to DVC, so others may have more information. We had a great stay at BCV's in the fall and stayed in a 2 BR dedicated unit. There was a queen bed/sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom and sleeper sofa in the living room. As long as 2 of the adults don't mind the sleeper sofa you should be fine. The room size of the 2nd bedroom was as large as a regular room at Beach or Yacht club. I could not believe how large the vanity area was. It was outside of the bathroom and 4 people could have stood in front of it to get ready in the mornings. If you can picture the 2nd bedroom section of the villa in three parts. 1. the area with the beds, dresser, table and chairs, 2. the long vanity area where you could store items on counter 3. bathroom with door. There was a dresser in the 2nd bedroom. You are correct in that a 2 year old counts as an infant, so your numbers should be fine. They also have a pack 'n play in the closet. I felt like the 2nd bedroom was just as large as the master bedroom. I would definitely save my points and go with a 2 bedroom. Hope that helps!

The biggest problem at BCV is that most of the two bedroom villas will be lockoffs with a queen bed and double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom or a dedicated with the same. There are only 25 dedicated with two queen beds in the second bedroom.

Six adults (if all of them are adults and not just older children) will be crowded. I would only consider OKW suitable for larger groups comprised mainly of adults because of all the extra room.

You are permitted eight plus one under the age of three.

There are actually no dressers, but rather armoires with the TV taking up most of the space and a few drawers underneath.

I think BC is a great resort, but with a full room like that, you might consider AKV or BLT. The 2br villas there (except for value 2br at AKV) are larger than BCV and there are 3 full baths. With that many adults, a little extra space and an entire extra bathroom makes a difference IMO. And of course, as Deb says, OKW is even bigger, but again IMO, the extra bathroom is more valuable than the extra space. YMMV :)

We've stayed in 2br villas (BWV,OKW,BCV-dedicated 2 br) with 5 adults and 2 children. It can be tight. I couldn't imagine it with 6 adults and children.

We have done 2 bedrooms at OKW and SSR with 6 adults (no children) and thought it was tight. OKW was okay but SSR was unpleasant. We've done 2 bedrooms at BCV and AKV but not with that many people. BCV was the tightest quarters of all of these (at least AKV has that 3rd bathroom).

When we go large groups now, we just get individual studios for everyone.

I wouldn't want to have that many adults in the unit with me. How about the 2 bd and one studio? that way nobody has to sleep in the living room but you still have the kitchen.

I've been in a BCV 2 bedroom when there's been 6 adults, and I wouldn't have wanted there to be 3 children with us. With the 6 adults, it was fine.

When I go with my DFam, we have 4 adults and 3 children in a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV. Usually that works well, but when we have the points, or we're coming later, DH and I pass on the the two bedroom and we take a studio, leaving the 2 adults and 3 DGC in the 2 bedroom alone.:goodvibes That doesn't happen often, our next BCV stay will see the 7 of us in a dedicated two bedroom over the 4th of July!
