2 BEDROOM at BCV

Vicki I am so glad you posted those pictures! My quest for the locations of those 2 queen rooms was never quite complete. I could never get confirmation on those rooms.

So 334 and 354 should be not noted as 2Q.

ETA: I edited the above post. I was having a very stupid moment. I was getting to wrapped up in the Fort Wilderness DVC rumor!

It is my understanding is that the sleeper sofa in the dedicated 2 bedroom is a queen sofa in the second bedroom. All other 2 bedroom lock-offs would have a full sized sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. I could be wrong since we have actually never had one of these units.

Our Vacation Planner states that the Beach Club Villas two bedroom units will have either two queen beds or one queen bed and a full (double) size sleeper sofa. The pictures posted here appear to be a full size sleeper in the bedroom with the queen bed. The Planner shows the sleeper in the living room to have 3 cushions and the sleeper in the bedroom to have two cushions. Unless there are some two bedrooms with the three cushion sleeper in the bedroom, it looks to me like they are all the full size in the bedroom. I will try to check this out further so we know for sure..

Side note, when BWV was first being sold, we toured the models there. The Sales Guide proceeded to inform our group that the sofa in the studio was a queen size. It appeared to me to be a full, but until he opened it and we actually measured out the mattress, he was insisting it was queen. The sleep space really does make a difference, especially in a pull out sleeper. Sorry, it is the furniture salesperson in me showing, LOL!

FWIW, my understanding has always been if you requested a dedicated 2BR whether it was one with the 2 Qs or not, your reservation should say DEDICATED 2BR (not just 2BR) and if it is a 2 Q, it should indicate that also.
I would call MS and insist that the word dedicated be added to the reservation. I would not be happy if I showed up and was given a lock off when I was promised a Dedicated. Without that word on your reservation you are not guaranteed getting anything other than a 2BR unit, and that could include a lock off.
IMHO most MS CM don't know the difference and probably don't care. If you ask 10 different CMs the same question you will get 10 different answers.

Don't assume because it says 2BR without the words "lock off" that it won't be a lock off. Better to be safe than sorry.

Also there are 16 dedicated 2 BR units on the first floor and 13 lock offs.

BTW there are only 24 -2 BR/2Qs shown on the ParkInfo2GOo site, where is the other one hiding. Is it possibly one of the first floor units.

Vicki's picture does seem to have a full from the looks of it. I had gotten the queen sleeper info as second hand from posters that were fairly knowledgable. But that was a number of years ago now and perhaps they were mistaken ... or possibly the couches were changed. :confused3;)

Very possible, perhaps when a refurb took place. Or in the interest of keeping the cost of sheets down. Anyway, if I hear back from DVC on this question I sent, I will definitely let you all know. Thanks! :)

Yes please let me know. I could see them replacing a queen with the full when they replaced the couches a couple years ago. They would all be the same size and fabric for that bedroom, making life a lot easier.

Or my info could just be wrong.

25 was always thrown around as the number of 2Q rooms. I have never be confident that that was the actual number or just a rough estimate. There were a couple rooms that were questionable when DisZip put the 2Q designations on the map. The unverified ones were of course not put on. One was verified after but has not been added. It's been a few years and I can't remember which one I had verified and what ones were still considered questionable. I believe (assuming I'm remembering correctly) there were four questionable rooms - 301, 304, 334 and 354. These were dedicated 2 bedrooms without a balcony or patio off the second bedroom. Vicki just showed us that 334 and 354 are not 2 Q rooms (I think now remember that from before).

To answer your question - rooms 301 or 304 could be 2Q rooms. I know I had confirmation on one but can't remember which one.

Wow. Glad I could be so informative! LOL! I wish I could confirm the full/queen sofa thing but I didn't pay much attention. I can't remember if one of the kids slept on that or not. We only have 4, so obviously we had plenty of bed choices.

I know I could look at the maps, but I'm lazy. Why is 334 grouped with 354 in your comments? How do you know they are the same?

I went to my PM's and I actually had the info in there. Room 304 is a 2Q room. This was verified by n2mm (a previous poster in this thread).

I still question room 301. I had a report of a sleeper sofa in that room but would like another one report before eliminate it, since it fits the profile.

If 304 is the only other room then that would be 25 as had been historically stated.

These are both rooms that did not have balconies but did have the doorway to the second bedroom entering in the living area. They are mirror images of each other. If one did not have 2Q's I'm fairly sure the other one did not. (I also had reports that I forgot a couple years ago).

I had a reservation at BCV for Jun of next year for a 2 BR with 2 queens in the second bedroom. Today I called to change my reservation to a 2 BR dedicated since we would really like to request a first floor room and there are no rooms with 2 QU in the second BR on the 1st floor (I know requests are only requests) The new reservation says " 2 BR with a queen bed and sleeper sofa in the 2nd BR" My question is, could I possibly get a lock-off since the reservation doesn't specifically say "dedicated"? MS assured me it wouldn't be a lock-off. Does anyone know if this is how the reservation should read?
Thanks
Tina

I have stayed at BCV and reserved for friends there many times, and I can verify that if you reserve lock-off, it says "lock-off" and if you reserve dedicated, it says "2Q" or "1Q & 1sofa-bed". It has been disconcerting to me too that it does not say "dedicated", but it's always worked out fine. My guess is that they needed the extra characters for the bedding designation. As for skelooch's advice, my guess is they can't manually add those words and have it mean anything; you are definitely in a dedicated category.

Since BCV was our first home resorts I collected all the info I could about the resort. I was on a quest a number of years ago to identify the location of all the dedicated 2 bedrooms w/2 queen beds. That list eventually made it to DisZip's website. (I believe there are two more rooms that are not yet noted on the floor plans).

Lisa,
Thanks for all the great info gathered from your "quest"! As a new BCV owner, I'm still trying to absorb as much of the detailed resort info as possible. (I like to wallow in the details!)

I really appreciate all the info all the DISers provide -- Thanks to all! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much. I think I understand it now! I appreciate your time!

YES!

A Queen Sofa Sleeper The dedicated 2 bedroom will be the same as any other 2 bedroom dedicated except that one of the queens in the second bedroom will be in the form of a sleeper sofa instead of a real bed.

I think you will be fine. There are still two real beds (King and Queen) which is what you would have slept in anyway. One for you and one for your parents. The kids can have the sleepers.

Just bumping for all the good info. I hope it's not outdated.

Now, off to find diszip...

Ok, if the sofa sleeper in the second bedroom of a dedicated is a queen sofa sleeper why did they tell everyone they could not make them all two queen beds, due to room size limitations.

if you can fit a queen sofa bed, why could you not fit a queen bed. :confused3

I always thought the sofa bed in that bedroom was a full size.
