My family of 4 is going to DW in mid January and due to one of us having a medical condition, we will be needing 2 bathrooms. I am in a quandry as to where to stay! We will need at least 3 beds (one can be a sofabed, others we prefer queen size), a kitchenette or at least a fridge and microwave, and my husband prefers daily maid service. We're hoping to be in fairly close proximity to DW or the Lake Buena Vista area. My budget is about $130/night or (hopefully!) less. I was thinking of getting two Pop Century rooms that adjoin, however that locks us into higher costs for food and we'd probably have to pay for the fridge. I've thought of a condo but I don't know which ones to trust, and they don't have daily maid service. Help!!!! :confused3

What about checking into renting points from a DVC owner for a 2 bdrm unit? You don't get daily maid service though, and the prices may be more than $130 per night depending on the day of the week you're there. Info on doing this :http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1571

If you do 2 rooms at POP , instead of renting a fridge, bring or purchase from local store (walmarts, etc) a large hard-sided cooler and restock with ice in the evening from the machine. This is what we did, found cooler for $18 and stocked it with breakfast foods, milk, juices, cereal, etc. Never ate breakfast in the food courts. At check out we left the cooler there with a note that it was free to take. Seeing as it was almost brand new, I'm sure some employee or mousekeeping took it home and it was still cheaper than renting for $10 per day.

I've never rented a condo off site, so can't help out there.

I'd recommend a 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite at any Residence Inn by Marriott (preferred) or a Summerfield Suites by Hilton in the Orlando area....overall I think this would be your best bet...

We stayed at Fantasy World Club Villas last December. They are 2bed, 2 bath townhouses. I got a great rate of 75/night when we stayed. Master bed had a queen bed and the other 2 twin beds. It also has a sofa bed, but we did not use it. Full living room and kitchen and washer and dryer. 3miles to Disney. I thought it was great.

check out Cypress Point on hotelkingdom.com Lots of us on this board have been staying here and its really nice, close to DTD and the price is right!! Do a search and you will find lots of post about it!

Thank you everyone for all your great ideas! I will be checking them all out this morning. Can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Yes, Residence Inn's by Marriot, Lake Buena Vista would be a good bet.

Also a 2 or 3 br at Cypress Pointe which actually might be cheaper. No maid service there tho.

Have stayed at both and been pleased.

herc.

Thanks for more suggestions! Question though, when I looked up Cypress Pointe there was a Cypress Pointe Resort and Cypress Pointe Grand Villas. They appear to be the same, but are they? Are they two areas of the same property? And which one is better (if it is 2 different places)? Thanks again!

Could not get a room at the Marriott Residence Inn - no vacancies through any travel group or direct through Marriott so I'll keep checking on Cypress Pointe...didn't think our chosen week in January would be popular but it includes MLK Day so I guess a lot of folks are going then too. Oh well!

CPV and CPGV - are together but have different managing companies.

do a search - one of the very nice people from tug came and explained it here.

Staybridge Suites on Suiteside Dr. Excellent hotel with 2 full baths. We have stayed here twice and loved it. :cool1:

I think the Staybridge Suites that cttinkerbell mentioned has a hot breakfast buffet included too (plus a full kitchen, I think).

ARGHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody has anything available during the time we are going! No Residence Inn, no Staybridge Suites, no Homewood Suites! I thought January was one of the least busy times - is there some kind of special thing going on that I don't know about? I did notice that it was Martin Luther King Day but do people really travel special for that weekend?? (I just picked it randomly). Oh I'm getting so disappointed! :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
