2 adults going, what special things to do?

Hey all,

I am going to WDW again, this time with my mom. This will probably be a once-in-a-long-time trip for her. We take care for our grandparents, and since their health is not that good, this will probably be the last time my mom can leave them for a longer period alone (more than a week) and going "far" away (not being able to be back home in 4 hours or so).

So, I want this to be a special trip. I plan on ordering in-room gifts and cake on the cruise we'll take, but what can I do at WDW?
I know there are the cakes that can be ordered but... we are only two, and if you want a "nice " (i.e. not generic) cake, you need to order one that serves 10 people!
IF I get an ADR for Coral Reef, I'll try to get a diver sign.

What else can we do?

Probably just beign away with you, her family, will be enough to make it special, and you wont need to buy a lot of extras to help her enjoy it.
If you really want ideas though: I took my mother on Keys to the Kingdom tour last year, which she really enjoyed because of all the history about the parks etc. This tour probably means more to people who get to spend a lot of time in the parks, but if that one isnt right for you there are quite a few others to choose from.
Another thing we really enjoyed doing on our "just us" trip was completing the free quiz sheets from the VMK shop on main street. Neither of us play the game so we werent very interested in the "prizes" but it was something we could really do together.

We have already booked the Train tour and the Backstage Magic tour, so that won't be a surprise anymore

We are used to go to Disney parks, my mom has already been twice to Disneyland, and tomorrow, we are off to Disneyland Paris again (4th time for her this year alone), and she is not really into the rides (she's even scared on Dumbo, duh!).

SInce we'll stay at AS Music, I can't order chocolate covered strawberries (or whatever) to wait for us in the room. It are small things like that I was looking for... but I guess we'll have to order a cake for the first day and just stuff ourselves with it during the days that follow, haha!

If her English is as good as yours, you might take her to the Adventurer's Club for a fun evening. And JellyRolls is a great singalong bar at the Boardwalk. It's fun and relaxing.

Her English is not as good as mine, but she understands most of what is said to her, and also speaks English, although with an accent and limited vocabulary.
