We are scheduled to arrive at WDW on 4th of July. We currently have ADR's for Le Cellier. My 2 ? are....is it possible that Epcot will close and we will not get in at 5pm for our ADR's?? Also, can I make a back-up ressie for say Spoodles or something not in a park in case we don't get into Epcot? Thanks.

First, let me say that you will have a GREAT time being there on the 4th of July. We were last year and it was fantastic! The extra fireworks lasted soooooooo long.

Now to answer your questions. I see that you are staying @ the GF, being an onsite guest gives you a guarantee that you won't be turned away at the gate. If the park is full you will still be able to get in. That is only for the people who stay on site, and on the 4th it gets very busy.

If you want to have an overlapping ADR it's no problem. I did this last year when we could not decide between the Sci Fi and M.M. The castmember told me that it's done all the time, just remember to cancel 1 ADR ASAP so someone else can go in your place.

One more thing, I hope you are going to Epcot on another day as well. If you get there later in the day (especially on the 4th) you may not be able to get a fastpass for some of the rides. I have heard that the passes for soarin are gone by late morning on busy days. I'm pretty sure that is the case for another ride in Epcot but I can't remember which one. If you look I'm sure there is someone who has posted something on it.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Not true. As a resort guest you are guaranteed admittance to A park but when any one park reaches full capacity then it is closed to ALL guests including resort guests. MK is usually the first park to close however I have heard of Epcot also being closed it's just not as often. If MK and Epcot close then you would be allowed to go to Disney Studios. Being a resort guest does not guarantee admission to a particular park. There are 4 different stages of closing beginning with offsite guests but once a park reaches capacity then it doesn't matter where you are coming from, it's closed. And yes, I have been in MK several times when this has happened on July 4th.

We have been at WDW probably the past 10 years over the july 4th holiday- and what I can say is that in all that time only once did the parks close to resort guests(MK) and even with that closing it opened up later in the day. Epcot closed to that first tier of people last year but I don't think it ever got beyond that. So we were able to get in. no problem- we are going to be eating at the Garden Grill at 7:30 I hope this year. If not it is room service at the Poly.
And I can tell you that capacity at the MK is not a place you want to be. At Epcot it is not as bad. for some reason you seem more spread out. So look for us!! :wave2: I'll be the one with all the kids.......... pirate: pirate: pirate: princess:

Sorry for giving the wrong info. I was only telling what I had been told last year when we were at the resort. I asked the same question for a similiar reason and that's what I was told when I was on site. :confused3

hello ,on my last four visits I went to Epcot and guess what?...this year I will be again at Epcot...its crowded but somehow you dont feel it.It doesnt answer your question but Im so happy that I feel a rush everytime I see someone that is going to be there too...who knows maybe be will bw standing next to each other sharing the pixie dust!!!oh Im so thrilled!!!!!!!! :yay:

I wouldn't worry about it. Magic Kingdom might close due to capacity but Epcot very rarely does. Relax and enjoy your evening. And make sure you do Illuminations after dinner! Special effects and all.
