2/9 New Items And Prices

I think VMK has finally got it! It seems most likely they are releasing things people most want! W00t!

So should Harvard just walk door to door and give our free degrees to everyone because people want it, irregardless of those who have worked very hard to earn theirs?

Some things take work to have, but apparently not anymore. Now, it's "let's punish those who have worked hard to climb the mountain."

Comparing a virtual pin to a Harvard degree? I don't get it.

I can understand if this was a pay as you pay game. Or something like Second Life that works with currency. I don't think VMK's goal is to make it difficult to pay for newbies.

The comparison is to hard work.

Should everything in life be easy and simple for everyone to have or should there be a few things in life you have to actually work for? Like a Harvard degree.

I think the moral of this is just buy what you want, because you like it. If it gets a high trading value somewhere along the line, enjoy that while you can. For every "rare" item I've had that was rereleased, there's usually another one that gains in value just from sitting there. It all tends to even out in the end.

Well, I don't have a Harvard degree, and what that has to do with trading virtual items is beyond me, but I did know when the time was right to trade my 'rare' for items I wanted and did quite well. I am glad the older items have returned, it should curb some of the ridiculously high number of scams and cheats.

As for how long the HKDL items will be available, it's anyone's guess. Buy what you can when you first see them, they may be gone come Monday, or may stay forever. VMK never lets us know.

But, they're still not releasing the beta stuff I want.

Unfortunately, things that they don't rerelease becomes near impossible to get with the other things that are rereleased. :(

Oh well.

Bingo. I totally agree. I've tried buying things I thought would be valuable, but it's never worked out right. Now I just buy what I like. :thumbsup2

I will explain again. It's an analogy. You work hard for a goal. You study. You learn. You earn something. Then it is given to everyone, no effort required.

Congrats If you are lending out your VMK crystal ball, I would love to borrow it.

That's the thing...
People that try to cheat others will continue to do so. Sadly. People that fall prey to cheats will continue to do so, sadly.

The REALLY vmk wealthy will easily recover from releases like this. For those (such as myself) who were JUST starting to be able to enter bigger trades after working, studying, and learning values and trading, the re-release of one such item is devastating.

All releasing the red shirt did is widen the gap even moreso from the vmk rich and everyone else, making the scamming issue even worse.

Unfortunately, things that they don't rerelease becomes near impossible to get with the other things that are rereleased.
Exactly. If you wanted a stitch hat, for example, a red HKDL shirt or a white castle is no longer an item that can help you get there. Therefore, that stitch hat has gone up in value and the mix of items that can help someone attain it has decreased, making the not-released items even MORE unattainable than previously.

Yes don't make the mistake I did last week. I thought I'd have time to get the cheer outfit top so I didn't worry about buying it. I'm definitely buying what I can this weekend.
As for rares, I'm glad to see things return. I've been playing for a year and a half and it still seems I'm a have not so for myself I've just decided I'm going to buy what I want and not worry about trade value anymore. I hope this also cuts down on the scamming.

Wow it's just an ITEM on a virtual GAME, I traded a princess minnie for a green flip hat the next day green flip sold

Did I complain

NO

How old are you? I'm a kid and I don't complain this bad over a few rare items of mines selling, I had that poster and pin and I think I still have my red shirt, but do I complain no I do not.

Ok I hope you understand that this is A GAME not something to get all upset when you lose the rarity of an ITEM.

All people are not the same, I personally also dont like that VMK released a bunch of HKDL items .. It was the first rare I got in VMK, for me the red shirt in particular was the item I liked the most in VMK and now all of a sudden they released it >_< and I totally get the point of Disney Dreams

I will explain again. It's an analogy. You work hard for a goal. You study. You learn. You earn something. Then it is given to everyone, no effort required.

There was no work involved in acquiring things, no studying, no earning. Most of the people who have the items you think are valuable were simply lucky enough to be playing at the time they were released. No education required.

Congrats If you are lending out your VMK crystal ball, I would love to borrow it.

No crystal ball there. Just watch the trades to see what people are looking for or check out the trade rooms on vmk. Again, no work or study required. No premonitions, just luck.

Yes, there will always be cheats and scams. Why? Greed. On both sides of the trade. Because of those players who think they should get things free or cheap. Because there will always be players who feel entitled to own everything and will do most anything to get them. The exist everywhere, not just on vmk. School analogy? They also most likely cheat on exams, as well.

I don't know who you consider "REALLY vmk wealthy", but most of the players with Beta no longer play, so their items were either taken out of play of gifted or sold on auction sites. Older players had a lot of time to accumulate items, and most of the players with APs for DLR, especially, had a lot of items to trade. Lucky for them for living in the right state.

Sorry, Dreams. We will have to just agree to disagree on this. It's all luck, very little skill. I happened to be playing the days those re-released items first came out. I was never wealthy, but in most players eyes, I am. Why? Because I bought what I liked when it went on sale and have friends who visited the parks and gave me park quest items. Luck.

Ah, see... that's the difference. I worked hard to trade up to acquire them. So, there was a study of the craft involved.

Sorry, Dreams. We will have to just agree to disagree on this. It's all luck, very little skill. I happened to be playing the days those re-released items first came out.

No apology needed. I agree, we disagree on it, and that's cool. I think for some it was luck to have played when the items were for sale. For others, it was skill to learn how to trade up, if they didn't get things when they first came out. It all depends on your situation.

Ultimately though, it DOES wider the gap even further... which I think is a bad thing for VMK players as a whole.
