2/9/10 Questions for the Team will be taken from this thread only.

My question is.........

What is the best part of your job? What makes you say hey this is really cool I get to do this for a living!!

I just recently booked the podcast cruise 2.0, and am planning on spending a few days at the World before the trip. I've been working my way through the old podcasts and heard one from last summer where you told people to book their additional travel plans right away. I wasn't planning to book until closer to 180 days out (if I can make myself wait). What is the reasoning behind needed to book now--which will probably be about a month from now by the time I hear the answer to this question if you read it. ;)

Thanks! I love the podcast and don't know what I'm going to do when I've caught up and have to actually wait for new episodes like everyone else.

Being "townies", what is the main reason for you to visit Downtown Disney?? How many times a month/year do you find yourselves at DTD?? What are some current "must do" and "don't bother" for out-of-townies??

While at DTD has anybody on the team eaten at Cap'n Jacks?? If you did what was your experience??

Thanks again for DAP

Be well

I would, and i think i can speak for most everyone else, enjoy videocasts, aside from the vanity issues...........LOL...........not that there are any, i just know that i tend to high tail it when the camcorder comes out,............is there any reason that it cannot happen???????? oh and...................hows the pup?????

Hi Team,

It would be nice to see the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon venue in Frontierland used for something more than just a seasonal offering. Can you see this space coming back into the fold as a Princess and the Frog themed experience? What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I have a question!

Our next trip to Florida will be in Dec.2010, now we are thinking of doing 3 nights at Universal in one of their hotels.
So we are thinking that it would be worthwhile for 1 person to purchase an annual pass to Universal to save on room rates and tickets for the rest of the family. There will be 4 of us going.
So my question to you is this a good way to go?

Thanks Katherine :)

Any idea if the D23 is going to have an expo this year? It was not recently announced with the other events. Is the expo was going to be a yearly event? And held in California? Do you think an announment will come at the events in March? Thanks for all your work I enjoy the podcast.

Hi Podcast Team,

When traveling to WDW, we are always on the lookout for counter service restaurants (on property) to eat that have a better menu than the typical hamburgers and chicken fingers. We like to find a place at each park to each a counter service lunch. For example, we enjoy Flaming Tree at Animal Kingdom and Columbia Harbor House at the Magic Kingdom.

What would be your suggestion for a good counter service lunch at the Disney Hollywood Studies? There doesn’t seem to be any good choice there.

Thanks!

Hi All,

Thanks to Julie for the shout out last week on the goodies I brought to DAP for the podcast team - some of the maple syrups enclosed were "Maids of the Mist", a boat ride that takes you up close to Niagara Falls, but I also thought they could be mistaken for cruiseships!

I was thinking that there must be some really memorable gifts that listeners have sent over the years, besides the beloved chocolates, english muffins, etc... So, what is the most memorable gift that you've received from a listener?

I love listening to the podcast and have been known to have laughing fits causing me to have to rewind and relisten! Thanks for the weekly virtual trips to Disney and all of the great advice.

Sincerely,

disneydreamgirl (Pam)

We have spent a lot of time lately listening to old Podcasts. Do the members of the podcast team have their own most memorable moments from recording the podcasts? I love the "Bob-isms"

Thanks for the great job!

I have a question...

I have booked a 2 night stay August 19 and 20th with "Dreams" for the Swan. I am so excited because of your high praise for this hotel. I am doing one day at the MK, hopefully with "give a day". I will be with my 17 y/o daughter, and we are also going to do a college visit to CFU at that time as well. We also might squeeze in a few hours at Disneyquest (she wants to major in computer science/video game development, I think she would love this).

Do I get free parking at the MK with a "Swan" stay? Also, what good sit down restaurants are there at the Swan/Dolphin that won't break the bank, and have decent food? We would like more than just burgers and fries. We have adventurous palates. Also, is there a place in Downtown Disney or close to it that you might recommend? We will have a car, and will be there almost the full 3 days. (I'm driving in from Fort Myers) Thanks!

Sharon

I would love to know if you guys have any tips or info about staying at Shades of Green. My cousin is going there for a grand gathering in March, but we haven't found much info on the Resorts board.

Are any of you familiar with the food options there? Can you make an ADR for their sit down restaurant (or rather do you need an ADR?)- I know it's not technically a Disney resort so I wasn't sure how it works.

Any info about their transportation? We heard they have their own shuttle- is there a shuttle stop near where all of the regular Disney shuttles pick up?

If you guys know anything, we'd appreciate it!

Thanks- have fun recording!

This is something I have wondered for years:

Do the Dreams agents work out of their homes on their own hours? How does all of that work?

What are the chances that one of us could get that job? Do they have to have travel agent licenses?

Thanks! I love the boards and the podcast!!!! I appreciate all of you very much!

My question:

If a car going 75 mph on I-4 from Tampa is heading to WDW, and a car going 60 mph from Orlando on I-4 is heading to WDW...

What time is the 3 o'clock parade?

:rotfl:

Sorry. I couldn't help it.

I have a couple questions, actually.

What conceivable reason would someone who is getting their Master's in Social Work have for entering the Disney College Program? I am saying this because those of us with non-business or hospitality degrees feel we cannot do the program because we would not get anything out of the seminars or the experience. Don't get me wrong...I would LOVE to work for Disney, but I don't want to waste a semester of school.

I have another question. At what point are you not a FL resident? I just moved to TN in August and my parents still live there. I have lived in FL my whole life previously and have been to Disney multiple times, but now that I have established TN residency, how long will it be before I'm no longer considered a resident?

I have another one in case those two are dumb. Are Mickey-shaped pizzas still available anywhere? I had one in EPCOT several years ago and I want some nostalgia.

What's your favorite "hidden" thing in the Parks?

For example, I love to get a coffee and snack in Hollywood Studios at The Writer's Shop and relax in the chairs. It's usually very quiet and relaxing in there, and stopping for a coffee, cheese danish, and watching cartoons is a great way to de-stress.
