HI ALL!
It is super quiet on here! I had my phone set to alert me when people were posting but apparently that wasn't working, I'm glad I got on to check today...

As for Fish Extenders, I started organizing the Fish Extender group list back in May and we have a couple families on it, so YES, it is ON!!
If you want to join, please send me a private message with the following information:
-NAME(s) of people in party
-Stateroom #
-Age(s) of kids
-Any special information/allergies

We'll close the FE group on January 6th and I will email everyone the information so you will have 30 days to make sure all your FE stuff is organized. I've already started working on our gifts and they're super fun! The kids have had a blast helping out, too.

If you haven't done a Fish Extender group before, see the first post in this thread for information about them, they are a TON OF FUN!!!

I've been doing some fun giveaways and trying to post a "fun tip of the day" on our Facebook group but I know you all don't use Facebook so I will try to post some fun tips here as well!

racingmom, I got your info and you're on the Fish Extender list.

Valerie and Bob, I just added you! We'll close the list Jan 6th and send it out.

Dream Tip: Get Big Island Cookies from room service (for you newbies, all room service is "free" (included in the price of your cruise)). Take the cookies to one of the three self-serve ice cream places on board for an AWESOME ice cream sandwich. Deck 11 aft. Or, grab a big cup, fill it with root beer at one of the soda fountains and take it over to make floats!

Dream Tip: For a great family photo, go to the mid ship elevators on deck 5 for a family picture in front of the BEAUTIFUL chandelier.

Hi Kristy, I just added you to the Facebook group. There are two other families doing Fish Extenders that don't have a room # yet. You can still sign up, just let me know whenever you get your room assignment. Message me with the following information:
1) Name(s) of passengers
2) ages
3) room #
4) any special information that we should know. (allergies, fav characters, etc)
I will keep it on a google spreadsheet and will close it 30 days prior to sailing. The reason for names is that people often personalize the gifts however if you would prefer to keep your kids' names private, simply put "daughter (8), son (5)", etc.

Hi I'm Kristen from NJ.... My husband and I are taking my baby sister (12) on our FIRST EVER Disney Cruise! We are so excited!!!! Katherine, my sis, is kind of shy, and I'd like to see if there will be any other girls her age on our cruise- Feb 6 2014.... Sooooo looking forward to it!!

Hi Kristen! I'm from NJ too! This will be our family's first cruise. So far we have kept it a surprise. My 12 year old is also shy and a bit awkward socially. I was hoping she'd make a friend or two on the cruise that she could stay in touch with even after. Maybe we could get them together!


I'm also interested in the FE, but I'm not sure I fully understand what it is. You make something for each member of 1 family? Or 1 for multiple (or all) families participating? You guys have shared such great info so far, I'm getting even more excited!! We'll be traveling with our 12, 5 and 2 year old. I'm a little worried about leaving the kids to do anything without us. I know, I know, it's Disney, and it's magical, but I'm still really nervous! Anyone have any experience with this? Also, my 2 year old has apraxia and his main form of communication is sign language. Any idea if the people running the kids' areas would have a clue what he is saying?

You can make something for each family member, something just for the kids, one thing for each family---it's all up to you and is in good fun. You can make something, buy something, whatever you can dream up. We've had Disney-related gifts, sometimes gifts from a person's home state, all kids of cute stuff. We did it on our first Disney cruise last year and it was soooooo much fun!!! I'll be closing the list on Jan 6th so people have a month to get gifts ready, if you want to participate send me a PM.

The Kids Clubs are amazing. I rarely leave my kids (and we also enjoy doing things with them on vacation!) but they would go to the kids' club while my husband and I had late dining and they had the BEST TIME. Disney is also very particular about the people they hire for the kids' areas, I don't know specifically about sign language, but I would be surprised if they didn't have an ASL specialist on board. You could call the cruise line and ask, it's a good question. If they don't have someone assigned to that cruise, they might send someone to make sure your child is comfortable! Totally worth a phone call...
