I love sea days. Just looking out onto the endless water relaxes, and refreshes me. I can daydream...YoHo, YoHo a pirates life for me..uh,ummm and now back to our story.

I actually slept in this morning...almost 7am. Of course my family was still asleep. So off to deck 9 for coffee, croissant, hot tub, a a dip in the pool, and a stroll around the ship. I could get use to this!
Before long it was time to return to the room where my family was slowly getting awake. Off to Topsiders for another breakfast of made to order omelettes.
Following breakfast DD6 & I went to Animators' for "Family Kite Making" (no charge) Every family was given a kite, and it was DD6's job to decorate it. Soon our kite was every color of the rainbow, filled with Disney characters. The next day we would get to fly it at Castaway Cay! ( a story in itself!)
Meanwhile DW & DMIL were off to the Art of Entertaining Series. They had been attending these sessions throughout the week. We kept teasing DMIL how we expected her to prepare all of these fancy appetizers, entrees, and desserts when we returned home! Later that morning they did the "galley tour". I did this two years ago, and found it quite impressive! Best of all at the end of the tour you're served a cookie!
Following the kite making DD6 & I went to Mickey's Mates where she finally bought her beloved stuffed Disney Magic complete with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, & Goofy. She had saved her Disney Dollars for "Mickey's Boat". After making our purchase we took her Disney Dollars to Guest Services, where they were placed on on shipboard account.
Next it was time to hit the pool! We especially enjoyed the "wave" pool this morning. As the ship rocked, so did the water in the pool. We almost body surfed in this mini Tyhoon Lagoon! It was fun.
The family soon got together again. Once again it was time for lunch. Off to Topsiders! Today they featured jumbo shrimp and crab claws! Very good!!!
Following lunch, it was back to the pool! A nice family had these little "torpedoes" that zoomed along underwater. DD6 loved diving underwater to retrieve them. The kids had fun, and I enjoyed watching them. When the "wave pool" returned it was time to put the torpedoes away, and head back to the cabin for naptime.
Upon our return our cabin was cleaned and the fold down bed had been put back in place. By the time I was ready to lay down DD6 & DW had claimed the beds, while DMIL claimed the sofa. Hmmm...what to do...I know! The "comfy blue deck chairs" of deck 4!! Before long I looked just like the Dad in the DCL commercial sleeping & snoring away on deck4. On our first cruise DD(4) was overtired one evening. Daddy & DD proceeded to deck 4, calmed down, and proceeded to fall asleep. Ever since, DD & Daddy have called them the "Comfy Blue Deck Chairs". We love them!
All too soon, nap time was over. DW & DMIL were off to Bingo! They were determined to win the final jackpot of $5000. I was keeping my fingers crossed. Unfortunately, no jackpot, but it was fun anyway.
DD6 & I went to Michael Harrison's Magic & Ventriloquism Workshop. He's very talented, and quite entertaining. DD6 loved the magic tricks. She especially loved his "tennis ball" puppet. The day after we returned home we had to find a tennis ball so she could make & decorate her own puppet. At the end of the workshop Harrison was selling his magic tricks...for about $20 each.
Next it was time for dinner. I looked forward to out lobster dinner. Last year our server Darko, made this a dinner to remember. He served "surf 'n turf". The lobster & beef tenderloin were delicous! That was followed by an array of desserts. It was wonderful. This year I ordered the lobster which was very good ( I really didn't need the beef tenderloin, too). However, after enjoying our appetizers, and entree, we were ready for dessert. It wasn't offered. Fortunately, I had memorized the menus from
Barb's site (I'm just a little compulsize in my planning!). From the opposite end of the table I got our server's attention and ordered the chocolate lava cake. Other's at our table followed. Coffee was never served. After finishing dessert, we received yet another "excellent" speech. As I was getting ready to leave our server asked if I wanted coffee. Too late. After telling my family for 2 yrs about DCL's excellent service, I was embarrassed. My post cruise letter to DCL stated my disappointment. Aside from dropping off tip envelopes the following night, we didn't return for our Friday dinner.
After dinner we stopped by Rockin' Bar D to watch the "comedy & ventriliquism of Michael Harrison". He's quite talented, and we enjoyed his show.
DD6 went off to the club. She had seen Disney Dreams twice, and tonight she was more interested in club activities. DMIL & I went to see the show. Disney Dreams is great. It's a show you can enjoy time & time again. I especially love when Tinkerbell flies over the Magic and spreads pixie dust!
It has been a busy day, and the family was getting tired. So DD6, DW, & DMIL returned to the room to get some much needed rest. I decided to roam the ship, and see what I could find. Just walking outside on deck I found a whole sky filled with stars. Since we have so many street lights at home, I rarely get such a view. Next I came upon "Kathy & Si" in the Promanade Lounge. I had stopped there several evenings this past week to listen to them. Next it was time for the "60's Dance Party". Frankie & the West End Boys performed Beatle's tunes. They were great! the cruise staff was there dressed in "gogo boots", mini skirts, etc. It was a fun time! Soon it was time for the "midnight"/11pm dessert buffet. Not being one to turn away food, I loaded up my plate with several delicous desserts. Lumiere's was decorated with ice sculptures, etc, and made for a festive appearance.
By this point even I was tired. I returned to our room. DMIL was rattling the rafters with her snoring, and I was about to join the chorus. DW had her earplugs, and soon we were all dreaming of our next port...Castaway Cay!

Keep it coming! I'm very much enjoying reliving the cruise. My darling children were a little intimidated by the wave pool, so we didn't do much swimming on sea days.

Thanks for the report!

It does seem like they could have skipped the excellent speech and just concentrated on being excellent. It is embarassing after being such a DCL cheerleader to have them disappoint you so.
