Macker - we're in a similar boat trying to get our dining arrangements worked out. We've been confirmed on late seating, which we could live with, but DH's Aunt and Uncle are coming along as well. They're both over 80 and absolutely LOSING IT over the idea of eating dinner at 8:30! She calls me almost daily to aski if it's been changed, reminds me that Uncle has to take his meds at dinnertime; must be 6:00, etc. etc.

I'm counting on being able to change it onboard if we haven't cleared the waitlist by then. Does anyone know when they actually start dining assignments? We've been waitlisted since October, but there doesn't seem to be any movement.

Thanks for being such great listeners. It'll be amazing to put faces to your online names!

I can relate about the late dining! Dear Mother 80 (not going on cruise) has "dinner" at 4:30p. She thinks those "fancy" people eat late dinner at 6p!

yamahaboy, I'm glad you don't have to wear a cast. Maybe on the 26th you will get the OK to go without the brace as well.

Here in the banana belt of Montana we've had snow on the ground since early November, and maybe a week of above freezing weather. The sun came out today and I felt like a mole surfacing. I'll be the cruiser who has to wear sunglasses ALL the time. Clear weather here just means it will get colder tonight...

I work with the computer all day and thank my lucky stars I'm not the network/IT person in my department. I couldn't handle the hours.

Anything above 60 degrees will feel tropical to my family. I've got my packing list and I'm checking it twice (a day). Two weeks!!

We'll plan on the DIS meet Sun @ 10am--it'll be nice to finally meet everyone. Does anyone know if they schedule a character bkfst for Sun am? My DD10 will not miss that for anything--so hopefully there won't be a timing conflict.


As far as our problems with DCL go--I wouldn't be so upset if we had not booked our cruise over a year ago with main dining being confirmed at that time. I don't feel that I should have to worry about getting it fixed on the ship when DCL made the mistake!! Our original docs say main dining but DD new docs (rec'd due to DCL's 1st mistake) now say 2nd seating!! They had no explanation for TA as to why the mix up--and will only "try" to fix the error--no guarantee


Boy could I use a konch kooler right now!!

In at 6:45AM yesterday morning....out at 12:15AM this morning...made for a very long day yesterday. But here I am - bright & shiney face in at 6:45AM again !

mississaugamom - I have one of those 2-for-1 deals going on right now...my main job is performing a quality assurance & inspection function for air traffic control radars - but my 2nd job is network manager for the location 'cause the old network manager quit. So...seeing how I have an IT degree, management feels they can use me to fill both roles - QA & IT at the same time - for one low price! You know how it goes - they made me an offer I couldn't refuse (..if you want your job, you'll do this for us....!). We have a Win2K network that I am getting ready to switch over to Windows 2003 Server.

...as long as it has rum in it, put it in my hand with a loooong straw!

I know what you mean about the hours and the two-fers.! The favourite line here is "before you go away, can you ... " as yet another task is added with a February 27 deadline! In addition to everything else, I'm also the HELPDESK this week (in my free time, of course )

Someday I'll plan a last-minute getaway and just leave 'em hanging while I relax somewhere.

Pass the conch cooler! Only 2 weeks to go !
