Just wondering who else is planning to be on board for the 2/23 sailing? My husband and I (age 50-ish) are looking forward to our fifth Disney cruise. We met fellow DIS-ers last September, and it was great to have new friends to meet in person.

Anyone else??????

Cruising with our two kids ages 14 and 4. I think there are about five or six of us that I know of. Maybe more. This is our first DCL cruise and we cannot wait!

We're on the 2/23/02 cruise too, with 3 year old daughter. This will not only be our 1st Disney cruise, it's our 1st cruise ever!

Very Excited!
53 days and counting!

We will also be on the Magic on Feb 23. Myself, my wife and our two girls (3 and 10). Our first cruise ever and we, too, are very excited and look forward to meeting some fun, happy people!:) :) :)

Hi I posted about this sailing a few weeks ago and had no response!!! I am glad to see other are going also.

We are travelling as a large group of about 15 people. I just found out my DH will not be joing us because he is a Port Authority Police Officer and is still affected by the 911 incident. All PA police have had vacations suspended through February of 2002. We have already made final payment with cruise and airline, so I don't know how that will affect us yet.

This will be our 5th DCL cruise. It will be myself 42, DD18, DS16, DD13 plus 11 other friends! My teens are a bit worried that there won't be that many other teens on board. We ususally sail in the summer when there are tons of teens on board.

We are staying at the Best Western Oceanfront, Cocoa Beach the night before and returning our car to the National car Rental office in Cocoa Beach. I plan on dropping off kids and luggage and then returning the car to National and taking a taxi back to port.

Hope to see everyone there!!!

I can't wait to meet all of you. MJ, I think we chatted once before. Sorry to hear that your husband can't make it, but he should be proud to have such an important job. What sort of group are the 11 friends?

Hi Rikersmom!
We chatted earlier. I'm a cast member in Cherry Hill.
We'll be on the Feb 23rd cruise. Here's all of us; DH 35, DD18,DS9,DD7 and me,37.
Can't wait!

We'll be there also. We are DW(38), DD (5), DS (3) and myself (39). Sounds like a few Northeasters. DW is from Northeast Phila.
Cruise docs arrived this week. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Is anyone bringing anything special to wear on 70's night. I am trying to think what I have in my closet that might work but I forget what was being worn in the 70's!!!!!

I guess I'll have to check out "That's 70's Show" to get some ideas!!!

MJ:D

I'm not planning to bring any 70s clothes....I hope I don't have anything that's appropriate in my closet!!! I'm going to TRY and pack light!!

My TA sent our Cruise Documents .....we should get them today!

I'm still surprised that more people haven't responded to this thread. It seems like there will only be about 50 of us on the ship!!! This is school vacation week for us, but I'm not sure how many other states have this week off.

cinbis....I originally booked for Presidents week but when I called back to check on our reservation I was told I was booked on the 23rd!!! They told me there was no room left on the Presidents's day sailing. I was a mess because my kids are off school Presidents week.

So, now they are missing 7 days of school. It actually worked out alright because we are flying down to FLL on the 17th to visit family and then pick up the cruise on the 23rd. We are staying at Radisson at the Port the night before.

I agree that I thought more people would have responded. I think most schools do have the week of the 18th off instead of the next week.

I also want to pack light. I told my teens to keep it simple this trip. No pair of shoes for each day and night outfit!!! They get carried away.

My hubby told us last week that he cannot come with us due to higher alert status still at the George Washington Bridge in NYC (he's Port Authority Police) and they suspended all vacations thru Feb. We feel really bad he cannot go (I feel a bit guilty about still going with the kids, but he said to go!)

Happy sailing!!!!!

Keep in mind that some messages were lost when the board went down, so there were more responses, they are just missing. As far as the number of people on board, I hope it isn't full...more room for all of us to enjoy the experience!

I am taking my parents for their anniversary on this cruise, it is their first cruise ever. I have never seen my Mom so excited. She is actually planning outfits for the theme nights. This is out of character for her. I was afraid that my father was going to be the one to embarrass me, but know I'm wondering about Mom. LOL.
Hope to meet you on the cruise.

For the most part, we feel fortunate that our vacation week is different from most states. I checked the Disney Cruise site last night and there are quite a few categories still available. Perhaps we can eat at Palos several nights!!!

Yes, shoes.....that's what takes up a lot of room....I was just thinking the other day about how I'm going to limit how many to bring!

One of my co-workers will be on the 2/23 with a large group of family & friends--they have four cabins so far. We keep talking about the cruise at work, and it gets both of us more excited each day.

Looks like all categories are still available, so hopefully we'll have lots of room to spread out at the various pools.

We're expecting a nice (?) snowfall this weekend. The more it gets cold, the more I want to board the Magic.

Be sure to let the Cruise Line know about your parents' anniversary. They will celebrate properly at dinner. You can either arrange it in advance, or you can do it at Guest Services once you're aboard.

Which anniversary is it? --Karen

Only a few weeks left for our 2/23 cruise!!!!! Let's keep thread alive!!!

Hi everybody, I just found this board today, and have spent all day reading! I never get excited about vacations, (workaholic) but reading the boards today I can hardly wait. We were all concerned that with no kids with us, we would be out of place, but it sounds like fun for all.

We are going with another couple on this cruise. Ages: early 40's to early 50's. See you on board!!!:smooth:

Always glad to see more couples choosing DCL. I think you'll love every minute. Ed & I are also DVC members at OKW, and we have some points at WLV. Don't you love all these abbreviations? I still can't bring myself to use DH--maybe I'll get the hang of it someday.

Did you know that lime green ribbon is the sign of a member of the DIS-boards? I wore one on our last cruise and met many other fellow DISers. For the record, someone chose lime green because no other group has picked that color. Hope to see some lime ribbons at the terminal.
