We ate at MYTHOS and the food was once again fantastic. Try the Flat Iron Steak next time you go, it is so tender and juicy.

I rode Jurassic Park River Adventure and noticed the following: The show doors were open all the time without benefit of the IOATech Golden C-Clamp.

the cetacasaurs, the two little buggers on the left after the Ultrasaur had new skins and the animatronics on the second one made it jerk around like it was having a spasm.

the greenery that moves on the right after you enter the raptor containment area looked new and very green. the CP-24 crash site looks like it has been changed. the part of the boat that has the two little dino's fighting over the shirt looks to be closer to the ride boat as you pass it.
the rest of the ride was the same except to water effects when you are heading toward the T-Rex were not working.

At Dudley Do-Right: we saw the new 5-seat arrangement. there are no seat belts but the seat backs are very tall and much more substantial compared to the old ones. it looks like the front seat is very close to the padding of the log and there is no place to duck so you will get a face full of water in this seat.

Now for Mardi Gras: it rained and we thought it would be called off. The rain stopped at 7:50 and the parade went off at about 8:10 or so. The stage area is great. i did not think i would like it since i have been attending Mardi Gras for the past few years. There is much more room to handle crowd with out blocking off a main street intersection as always happend at Battery Park and La Bamba.
The food and drink areas are off to the left side along the old Hanna-Barbera building. There are beer stands all over the place. The only dissapointment for me was that Monster Cafe had mostly regular menu items. You could get a quarter chicken and some MUD BUGS, but it was nowhere near as extensive of a conversion as use to occur at La Bamba.

the parade did follow the Macy's route and gave you plenty of opportunity to double dip on the bead catching.

Sugar Ray put on a good show and made sure the crowd had fun and was fully involved. For those that left early due to rain you missed a good show.

I've been reading the the thread about the worst thing about USF/IOA and I can say that I've been there once and loved it so I can't say anything bad about it.

That's why I was so excited to read your post.

We'll be there for the last day of Mardi Gras (4/26) and I'm so thrilled. I can't believe we're so lucky to catch it. I almost can't contain myself. Can you tell I REALLY NEED a vacation!!!:jester:

What is the route for the parade?I want my kids to really enjoy it.

I know that Chris Isaak will be playing. Is this a free concert? I couldn't tell from the site I found it on. Wish I was there for Sugar Ray!!!!!!!

I have two months of torture to go thru till I get there!!!! I better start working on my time clock!!! WWWHHHOOOHHHOOOO

The parade starts and ends around Twister. If I had a map readily available, I'd tell you more or post the image on here.

As for the concert, it is included with park admission. Some people buy "after 5 passes" which cost less than a full day's admission. These people are usually just there for the concert.

The parade starts from Stage 21 down the street to the right hand side of the stage, which is the Twister street. It turns and heads towards the park entrance. From that point i believe it turns at Beverly Hills Boulongerie and heads towards La Bamba Cafe.

The concert and the parade with the floats and the BEADS are free with park admission.

Someone mentioned in another thread that Mardi Gras needs to be an event that is in the memories of those that attend. I believe it was at that place before the change in the stage location. This has been a great event for many years.:smooth:

I still have the C-clamp, it is still at Universal (good thing... we've both seen some tough times) but it is being put to good use in other areas. MIB- excellent thoughts, well spoken.

As always, good to here from you IOATech.
Hope the tough times are over for you and life is just a MARDI everyday. :smooth:

One final thought. The bead throwers on the floats 2/22 were the most weak armed group i have ever had the occassion to try and catch beads from. there were a couple that had a hard time getting them to the curb, let alone deeper into the crowd.
How about a test of strength before some of these volunteers are put on a float.

I admit, , we were probably the worst bead throwers in Mardi Gras history. They do give a short lesson, but DD could hardly reach the crowds and my beads kept getting knotted together, hopefully if we get picked again this year we will be better!!!
