We rent a SUV and leave it at the port. Night before the cruise we've booked Marriot airport orlando usd 43. In the morning we will drive to the port. We will do some shopping on Saturday evening or on Sundaymorning. Some drinks and brita bottles. We will join in the Fish exentender and bring you some typically dutch or stuff rom Disney Paris.Anyone doing pre-disney/port hotel stays? Are you renting cars or taking the disney buses??
We'll be joining you! I just made reservations today! I got 2 GTY12's for "dirt cheap." Well cheap for Disney anyway! I'll be curious where I end up room wise; this cruise appears to be not that filled....at least by my guess.
We are a family of 5 - so we have 2 rooms - I have a 14 year old boy, 5 year old girl, and 1 1/2 yr old boy. The only "unfortunate" part is that we are waitlisted for the main seating...I'm not sure how the heck we will manage to eat at 8p otherwise; my 2 little ones are in bed by 8p....I'm not fretting just yet though!
Now comes the more stressful part of lining up airline tix and car rentals...sigh...the fun part was booking the cruise!![]()
OK.... so I think I finally have FINAL plan for our Land/Sea CRuise... LOL
Arriving Feb. 18 and staying 3 nights in a studio at AKL Villas using DVC points.
Will try to do campfire at Fort Wilderness if possible that evening...
Feb. 19. Park day... most likely Magic Kingdom and Crystal palace for lunch. (Hoping to meet up with Sonogal's family that day...)
Feb.20. Resort day... Breakfast at Boma & Dinner at O'hana. Wash all our stuff for Cruise and pack!
Feb. 21. Up and out early to go to Port with Sonogal & Family.
You all know where we'll be from then on... meeting a friend in Nassau who lives there so no excursions for us.
Here's hoping that the weather improves in the next month and that we get nothing but sunny skies and calm seas!![]()
I've been away from the boards since before the holiday, so "Welcome!" to the disers who've signed on since then!
I was keeping everything crossed when I read that many of you had received your room assignments--andwe were upgraded from cat 12 gty to a Category 9 on Deck 2 (room #2032)! I'm really getting excited now!!
Also, thanks Tigger2on for organizing the FE exchange. Please count us in as well (1 adult, 2 kids DD age 11, DS age 9). I love the idea of everyone picking a day to cover, that would make life much easier all around. I'm guessing the days would be Sunday-Weds? Do people usually do exchanges on the embarkation day?
As far as an embarkation day meet-up location, would either the Wavebands lounge or Promenade Lounge work? They are both on Deck 3. I've never cruised with Disney, so not sure what the best locale for everyone to meet might be.
