Why am I having such a hard time finding cheap flights for 2/20-2/28 2010? Is something going on in Orlando then?

Try switching your dates up a little.
Most schools in NY have the week of President's Day off for "February Break."
I have been to WDW twice and FL five of the last six years that week.
Airfares are quite high unless booked very early.

If you are looking at WDW, try the beginning of Feb, if you are able, it is still value season and MUCH less crowded.

Actually the week op is talking about is the week after Presidents day. Most of the Feb breakers will be heading home on the day op arrives. But I guess it is the start of Spring break which goes until the last of April. Op could try flying out a couple of days later or earlier. That might make a difference.

Isn't president's day the week before?

President's Day IS the week before, but last year, I tried getting a flight for just the last weekend and it was still very high to fly down that Friday. Try your outgoing flight a day or two later.
And you are at the very beginning of college spring break.

It isn't too busy that week. Most schools in NH have that week off. While we haven't been able to find cheap flights from Manchester (they know we have vacation so they jack up the prices!) it won't be very busy. We've been going down almost every February and we love that week!

We were there last year during those dates. It was our first trip, but we found the parks uncrowded. The only busy night was a Saturday when they had the Spectro Magic parade. There were only 2 that week so the crowd was to be expected.

Good luck finding a reasonable flight. Enjoy your trip.

The parks typically aren't super-busy the week after P-Week, but there are a lot of people Up North who are escaping to Florida just to warm up (as opposed to visit the parks). February is a popular time for the snowbirds.

It's *always* more expensive for us to fly down in February than in May or July (the other times we typically go).
