I've been pondering my "agenda" for this cruise. I think of my 14 prior
DCL cruises, the only 3-night was my very first sailing, which was a College of Disney Knowledge "
Disney Cruise College." It was great fun, but I remember it as a whirlwind of activity that ended in the blink of an eye. On that cruise, I was required to attend certain onboard tours and seminars (classroom setting) to complete the "agent education program" and receive my very nice certificate, and I enjoyed every moment. However, it did not allow me the time to experience the ship from a "normal" Guest's point of view. So I am spending some time planning how I will handle this all-too-brief cruise.
Day One: After boarding, I imagine I will go directly to the Concierge Lounge for the "concierge meet." I may or may not go to lunch at Enchanted Garden immediately after that. I will definitely not go to Cabanas. Since I have late dining, I may decide to forego lunch altogether and get a sandwich later at Fillmore's Favorites or a snack in the Concierge Lounge. I think I may just relax on my verandah during the sail-away festivities, then will explore the ship a bit and do some character hunting prior to The Golden Mickeys (one of my favorite shows). After that, dinner in my assigned dining room! I am hoping to have my requested server, Szilard Pintacsi from Hungary. After dinner, maybe check out the various clubs, photograph around the ship when it is less crowded, then more verandah time.
Day Two: Perhaps coffee and a pastry (Yes, I do that!) in the Concierge Lounge (or take back to my verandah), followed by a brisk walk around Deck 4, followed by full-service sit-down breakfast (Eggs Benedict - YES!). Then (since I've been to Nassau and don't care to get off the ship there again) I'll explore the ship some more, do some more character hunting, Concierge Sun Deck or verandah time, a light lunch at Royal Palace, more character hunting, more sun deck or verandah time, an early dinner at Palo (6 pm), back to the clubs or lounges, then MAYBE attend the Pirate deck party festivities. Having seen it on the classic ships many times, and hearing about the changes, it's something I could skip, just as I will skip the Villains show (my least favorite). I'll be happy enjoying the night sky and the sea air, if I'm not in one of the clubs or lounges.
Day Three: Coffee, early morning walk on Deck 4, full-service sit-down breakfast (Because I CAN!), then to
Castaway Cay and Serenity Bay (I like to walk if the temps are low), then either lunch on the island or back on the ship at Enchanted Garden. I probably won't spend a lot of time on the island. Back on the ship, if most people are on CC, I'll have more photo ops with hopefully less of a crowd. I will hopefully attend the late afternoon "See Ya Real Soon," more verandah or sun deck time, then Disney's Believe show, then dinner in my assigned dining room. Then perhaps a club or lounge, or partake of the sea air while relaxing on my verandah.
Final Morning: At this point, I am not certain whether I will attend the final "exit" breakfast in my assigned dining room or opt for a quick Continental breakfast in the Concierge Lounge and then leave the ship. It depends on how I feel that morning, as well as whether or not I check a bag. It would be nice to say goodbye to my requested server, but I can do that the night before. If it happens to be foggy that morning, as can happen that time of year, I will try to stay aboard as long as possible since I have to drive home and would like decent visibility.
Notes: What I have outlined is NOT necessarily everything I will do. I might attend presentations and the Captain's signing, attend the deck parties, see a movie or two, do some shopping, etc. But none of those are on my "must do" list. I don't want to spend my time running from one activity to another, as can happen on a 3-night sailing. For me, this very short cruise will be mostly about seeing the Dream, experiencing a nice weekend getaway, and having some time to myself - something I rarely get!
