Dave and I are back. We had a great time. I will write more later but wanted to make a few comments here.
Apologies to one of the FE people--room 9-556 (or was it 566) didn't have an FE so we did not leave our gifts. Contact me via PM and I will mail it to you if you like.
More apologies for not making the meet. We ate at Animators the first night and there was an issue with our table. We were seated alone and really wanted to dine with other adults. Finally they moved us! We met a very nice couple, the husband also has a tech job like dave. Anyhow, the table move meant ordering delay, and then we didn't get done until 10:20. There was so much motion back there I felt ill, and so we went to the room figuring we had missed it. I was bummed, as I was hoping to meet some people. I did say hello to Its all Disney's hubby....
I really can't think of much negative to say. Since we have never cruised we don't have anything to compare the dream to, but everthing was top notch. The service was spectacular. Our room hostess was Sri and she did a great job with our room and getting us what we needed. I felt so bad for her as a lady in the next room was giving her a lot of grief one night for not getting the right number of towels or some such. Really? The cart was always in the hall. If you needed extra, grab a few... We tipped her $10 extra to make her day a little brighter.
The food was great. I had heard so much about it being "bad"--its really not. We loved everything we tried. Our servers were Ali, Murat and Alexadre. Alex seemed new, and has a LOT to learn, but he was sweet. Murat was fantastic. We only saw Ali a few times.
Nassau was neat but I don't see a need to ever go again.
Castaway Cay--I thought we were not going to make it. Glad the captain didn't give up. Even with the overcast skies, we had a nice time riding bikes, having lunch, and hanging on Serenity Bay. Hardly anyone there.
Never saw a chair hog, a line cutter, or a theatre seat saver. While there were over 1000 kids, I didn't encounter them much except in buffet and pool area. Poor design that the quiet cove is right off the forward elevagtors, the kids had to walk through constantly. Sat there was a singer and he saw kids walk through and he said "Hi" and then "Now, Leave!". All of us in the hot tub thought that was pretty funny.
The biggest fun on the cruise was the Aqua Duck. I swore I was not doing it as I dont like waterslides. I finally decided I had to try it once. I did with much encouragment from a few strangers in line behind me. I was SO scared but I did it! Yay me!
I hope those on the FE list liked my CDs. We loved all our goodies and it was so fun ton come back to a full FE.
Here we are--maybe you saw us?
