I'm so excited to go that I did all my door decorations 2 months ago! I got all of my pictures, names, hats, and ideas from Disboards, there are some great ideas out there. I have enough to change them every day and decorate 2 doors!

DH and I applied for passports the day before thanksgiving. They came in yesterday's mail. I can't believe they processed that fast. We were afraid we'd have to sail witout them as we had been told they can take several months.

It's all starting to seem so real!

We are going to release the cabana we reserved on Serenity Beach (Cabana #20) and wanted to see if any DISers wanted first shot at it. If so, let me know and I will release it when you're online and ready to snatch it back up!

Plenty of time to release it so we're in no hurry, so I'll wait until I get a "taker".

I was looking through the thread again and was curious about how many adults on this cruise are sailing WITHOUT kids. From what I've seen, it looks like - -

taswira & ThePhantomsGirl - 2 adults (best friends, as Taswira's hubby refuses to sail!)

Ladewig & macusr - 2 adults

dgundry - 2 adults

BeeTeacher - 2 adults

karebear06 - 2 adults

haynesfam - 2 adults

SJKeen - 2 adults

Wow - That's 14 staterooms (28 adults) of "adults only" just from the Dis. Interesting. Are there any more here?

Trying to get more activity going as we approach our sail date!

speaking of kid-free couples cruising... if you are in an adult only party, does DCL seat you with other kid-free couples for dining? I love kids--I'm a preschool teacher--but I'd like some adult conversation at dinner without all the distractions! And I've seen how some kids behave at dinner, I'd really be unhappy if we ended up with a screaming brat!

Heck, just to get through a meal without DH getting a text from work sounds heavenly about now! This often happens even on vacation so it will be so nice to know the cell phone will be off limits!

While others are cruising experts on this, I'll offer what I've heard and read on the boards (I've been scouring them religiously since I booked). The answer is YES, they will attempt to put adult-only groups with other adult-ony groups.

And we too are looking to enjoy the couples time away from the kids.

As for the texting/phone at the table, we're both ecstatic about it! My boss, however... not so much.

While DCL DOES (hopefully) attempt to seat "adults only" with other adults, it is certainly not guaranteed to happen. When Holly sailed with me in '07 on the Magic, we had a nightmare dining assignment. We were seated with a family that had a tiny toddler. They announced that she (not sure of the gender) had thrown up several times since boarding. The child proceeded to crawl around under the table around everyone's legs. It was dreadful (to us anyway). Thankfully this family never showed up again after we informed them that their serving team would expect gratuities (They had no clue). They avoided that by never returning. Fine with us! There was also a vegan couple who never returned due to extreme rudeness from the server (who is no longer with DCL). We did have some of the entertainers (magicians) sit with us one evening.

Just sayin' - Disney tries, but if you are really set on "adults only," it's always wise to request it!

Yep--crawling around my legs would not be my idea of a good dinner time!

I have kids clinging onto my legs often at work, but at dinner, not so much! lol!

Actually, the crawling wasn't the worst of it. It was the likelihood of the toddler vomiting again, at or under the table on our feet. Plus we didn't enjoy hearing about such things WHILE having dinner.

Situations like that are rare, thankfully! And yes, now the request is always "adults only," since one can't ask DCL for "only well-behaved children."

That was the dinner from h-e double hockey sticks! If I recall correctly the parents kept going on and on about the kid vomiting. That whole dinner experience was one big SNL skit that kept getting worse.

We were the only ones that returned. Other than the night they sat the magician and his girlfriend/partner with us, we had a whole 8 top to ourselves. That felt strange....
