2~2~12* Dream a Little Dream With Us!

Karebear06 thanks for heading up the FE! I wanted to PM you my info but don't have enough posts to do it. Are you able to contact me for the info? Or how do i do it?:confused3

All checked in now. No room assignment yet, but I got our spa reservations made and snagged the last available cabana (sorry).

74 days and counting......

I believe it's actually 75 days from today (Saturday, 19 November) to the day we sail (Thursday, 2 February), but for those coming from other states, are you counting based on arriving the day prior?

And congrats on the cabana! :thumbsup2

For those still hoping for one, Holly and I MAY decide not to keep ours since we also plan on getting one in April. We'll probably make the decision about a week prior to sailing.

I also got checked in last night, booked our Port Adventures -- In Nassau we will be doing the 1 hour boat tour as I really just want to see the sights, take a quick look around and then explore the ship more. CC we got the Snorkel/Stingray/Bike/raft deal. Going to keep things low key since we are on a tight budget! If all goes well I hope to rebook for a longer cruise with my kids!

we plan to pre-pay the gratuities--will we still need to tip servers and room stewards? I'm a newbie to all this and dont want to under tip but dont want to over tip either!

Same thing here, BeeTeacher... if all goes well with the cruise and time of year (and if DW doesn't get TOO seasick), I will be looking to schedule a 4day with the whole family for the same time next year.

Pre-paying will take care of the room steward, assistant server, server and head server. So no, you do not have to pay more.

For me - if I did the pre-pay, I'd still bring some cash in case I got a really fantastic server or room steward and I wanted to give more. If I get good service, I am the type that tips more than recommended. Conversely, if I got really awful service - I'd go to GS (or in my case the concierge) and lower it.

I've never lowered it on DCL, but I did increase my assistant server's tip as he tried really hard, while the server we had stunk. I didn't lower her tip...but probably should have. If I recall correctly, we also upped the head server's tip because he was very available and hands-on.

Of course I've only been on one cruise so far. Hoping for an incredible serving team this time.

Yes, we did! Our main server we couldn't stand was let go a few weeks later. There IS justice! ;)

As for hoping for an incredible serving team, I'd settle for a great server who is a familiar face. :cool1:

Thanks all for the Tipping Tip! I get it now!

I'm can hardly wait for February! How people book years in advance is beyond me--I'd go crazy waiting.

We just booked this cruise for my 17th birthday present! Can't wait!:goodvibes:woohoo:

Welcome aboard! And an early Happy Birthday, fellow Aquarian! (February 7th here.)

Thanks! My birthday is actually in March, but we're doing it now because of the FL resident rates! :woohoo:

Welcome Kathleen!

My goal is to get my whole family on a cruise. My oldest daughter will be 15 then. Is there a lot for teens?

I have a march birthday too. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary but also DHs bday is Feb 24 and mine is March 17. A 3-for-1 celebration! lol!

If you can get them into the teen club, they will have a blast! I went in March and the counselors and kids were very nice! :thumbsup2 My birthday is March 19th! Three days after yours! :)

My oldest will be 15 then, and my middle would be 13. That would make my youngest 11. She would be too young for teen club and they would be too old for her club. She's on the shy side so I'm not sure how she'd like to be without her sisters. Hopefully we can get some friends to go to have kids the same ages as mine (also all girls).

I probably won't be in the teen club this time around because I'm bringing a friend with me that's past the age range for any of the clubs. It's all good though! Quick question: who do we contact for the FE exchange? :)

Thanks!

The tween club Edge is for kids 11-13 so your 2 youngest girls will be together. the teen club Vibe is from 14-17 so your 15 year old will be by herself in there.
