2~2~12* Dream a Little Dream With Us!

This is my first post here, I only discovered this board last week and have been reading reading reading so much before I finally booked my 2/2/12 Dream Cruise today!

My husband and I are 45 and will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary (which is actually in May, but I could not pass up the florida resident rates!). We have 3 beautiful girls named Jessica, Madison and Rachel who are ** NOT ** coming with us. Next time!

This will be our first cruise ever, and we are excited, but I admit a bit nervous of not knowing what to expect. We are booked in a Deluxe room with veranda, deck 10 forward starboard, near the elevators. Hope its not a noisy location but then, I dont plan on being in my room much!

Living in Florida we have been to WDW far too many times to count, having had annual passes several times since the girls were born. We're currently taking a break, as this year we took a family vacay to DC and we knew we'd be buying a cruise. We're hoping to get Universal passes for Christmas, just for something different and then return to WDW annual passes in 2013, as well as a longer cruise.

Anyhow, happy to be here and I'm sure I'll have questions, even though I have really read the heck out of this forum.

Hubby is concerned about water temp in Feb in Castaway Cay. Anyone have any experience with that?

We booked our reservation with Dreams Unlimited and I hope everything goes smoothly. We received a nice chunk of onboard credit I am sure we can put to good use (spaaaahhhhh).

You definitely would not starve, my husband had the filet (wagyu beef) and I had an amazing chicken dish, it may have been duck or hen but it looked just like chicken. I do not eat fish either.

Welcome, BeeTeacher! Looks like we have a few adults-only cruisers already. We're GTY VGT'ing our trip so we'll see how cabin assignment goes. Online check-in in less than 72 hours for us newbies!

Also looks like we'll have to beat you to the spppaaaaahhh! :) It looks simply divine!

What I read on other posts for January/February is that the water temp is in the low 70's (not quite BRRRRRRR, but definitely on the chilly side). And should be about the same, on average, as the air temp.

But I'm predicting an uncommonly warm week with air temp in the high 80's and a raised water temp at 80 degrees on the button.

Uh-oh. I guess that means I'll be staying on the ship in the air conditioning! :rotfl2:

That means I'll be sitting in a cabana - maybe with a frozen drink. Wonder if we can get one of those cabana boys with a big tropical leaf to fan us? :thumbsup2

LOL - I'll have to work on that! :wizard:

I have seen extremes of weather in both directions that time of year at CC. Sometimes VERY warm and humid, sometimes VERY cold and windy. You never know. I'm hoping for not too hot, not too cold, and definitely not raining!

When Shari and I were at Castaway Cay in early February 2005, it was quite warm, almost hot. Don't know about the water temps, but people were swimming.

I'm with her - I'd love warm - not too hot - not too cold and no rain. A slight breeze with no high humidity would be a plus.

Holly, your cruise was in 2007! :rotfl:

I've been there several times since, including January last year (when it SNOWED at Port Canaveral the morning we left). January and February are my favorite times to sail because they CAN be cooler, and I really hate the heat and humidity as I get so much of that here in Florida. So I hope for reasonable temps to satisfy all! :thumbsup2

I just updated this post noting those who have expressed an interest in doing an FE.

If those with question marks wish to add their info (number of adults/kids, FE?), let me know and I will edit accordingly. ;)

2007? Just wanted to see if you'd notice... :rolleyes1

It feels like that long ago though. You and I will be on CC almost exactly 5 years from then, give or take a few days.

I thought maybe you just wanted to put more years between your Disney cruises. :rotfl2:

Not enough coffee this morning, huh? :lmao:

I was on CC last December . . briefly . . on my Murphy's Law cruise. :sad2:

We now have a good start to our Fish Extender group! If you would like to join, please send me a PM with your information. I need your stateroom number, names, children's ages, and personal email address.

We are not sure yet about participating in the FE. I'll see what hubby thinks! I know we would definately do it when we bring the kids.

It still hasn't sunk in that we are going on a disney cruise! We were all set up On RCCL Monarch of the Seas and soemthing just didn't feel right. I'm glad I didn't click the PAY NOW button! Our disney cruise is 30% less cost, plus lots of onboard credit. Whoo hoo!
