2~2~12* Dream a Little Dream With Us!

Just pulled the trigger on a 10th anniversary surprise for my wife... we met on Groundhog's Day in 2002 (2/2/2002) so it's only right to go on our first trip into unchartered (for us at least) waters ten years later.

Adults only, no kids (DD8 & DS8 home with the IL's, likely balling their little eyes out they can't come)! Woo-flippin'-hoo!

We booked GTY VGT so we'll see how the dice land on cabin assignment. Since we haven't cruised before, we don't know any better on where to stay.

:welcome: dgundry! Always happy to see adults sailing without kids! Only half-kidding. It isn't like there was a child shortage on DCL cruises - haha. I'm glad you got a deal! :thumbsup2

I'm sure you'll enjoy your cabin. It's very easy when you have no prior cruises for comparison. After you move up, it's often hard to go back - lol. But ANY Dream accommodations should be nice, and ANY verandah gives you a nice place to sit and enjoy the sea air without being in a crowd of other guests. Way to go! :cool1:

We decided to book a cabana, although we're not sure if we're going to keep it. Has anyone on here gotten one? Did you like it?

We reserved Cabana #5 which seems to be near to the restrooms and Cookies Too.

I know what you mean. That's the way we are at WDW with club level. We'll never go back! I'm sure it will be the same way with the cruise as well, but for the first one, I'll save the dollars and spend it on the spa for the two of us!

Can anyone confirm whether there is a Palo brunch on our cruise? (Still 5 more days to go before online cruising for us common folk.)

No, unfortunately there is no Palo brunch or high tea on the 3-night - Only dinner. Just not enough time to fit those in.

We just booked this cruise the end of last week using the FL resident discount. This will be my first cruise, my husband has been on a Disney cruise before, as a child. Our two daughters will be joining us.

We actually have a seven night booked on the Fantasy for 2013, but couldn't pass up this deal! So now we have 2 to look forward to.

Welcome to our new cruisers! :welcome: The Florida Resident rates have made a bit of a difference. Nice to see a few more people on this meet thread. (although I surely won't mind if we don't totally fill the ship....)

Hello everyone - I'm "Ladewig"s better half. Just got myself signed up on these boards (I'm also macusr over on Cruise Critic where I've spent much more time), and wanted to join the conversation on this roll call. Seems like for Disney cruises, there's more activity over here than on Cruise Critic for the roll calls though.

As already mentioned, this cruise will be the 2nd half of a B-t-B. We've got reservations for Remy for the 1st half, so I will be going for Palo reservations for this cruise.

Welcome to our Dis thread! Congrats on the Remy res. I made my Palo res at 120 days out, but didn't even consider Remy. I was cruising solo at the time, but even now that my friend Holly is joining me, there is no way we'd want to miss the main dining rooms two nights of this 3-night sailing on a ship we haven't yet sailed on. We even considered not doing Palo on this one. If we get our requested server, I'll be sad that it's only for two of the evenings.

The thing about Remy: Although I love French food, Holly does not. Plus there is the fact that it's a very LENGTHY meal in a romantic environment. I think I'd have to persuade my DH to cruise with me (Not gonna happen!) before I would book Remy! :rotfl2:

We dined in remy this summer and it was outstanding, you should do it on your fantasy cruise. I agree it's too much to do both on the tree day. We are going to palo too as I know my mom will be intimidated bt remy's menu. The food was delicious bas well as being artistic, but there were so many courses I can't even remember what we ate I just know it was good. The exception was a few of the super stinky cheeses from the cheese cart, we opted to try them all so our waiter set up a plate like a clock from mild to strong when we got to about nine o'clock I my husband would try it so see if I would like it, o e made me gag.

My problem with Remy is that I am a bit of a picky eater. I don't fish - and tend to only eat beef, chicken or pork. I'd probably starve at Remy!

The other reason I don't really want to try Remy is because I WOULD love the food, but it's very rich. To sit there and dine on that fare for two or three hours would not be good for me, I'm sure. I'm trying to either remain the size I've been for the last 25 years or so, or even lose a few pounds - lol. When cruising I do indulge in things I'd never eat at home (particularly various desserts/sweets), but as I said, I love French food and to have such a lengthy experience all in one sitting is not something I want to do.

I would love to experience the restaurant's service and ambience, but I hope to muster up all my willpower and just stick with Palo.

For all those who do dine at Remy, ENJOY! :thumbsup2

I am interested in fe exchange
You might try sending a PM to karebear06. I believe she volunteered to try to organize an FE if there are enough interested people. See this post.

The other person who originally volunteered has switched to a different cruise date.

You should have enough posts now to send a PM. Please do not keep posting that you are interested in the FE. No sign-up list has been established, and unless karebear06 is still willing, there is no FE organizer. So please try contacting her. :thanks:

BTW - Welcome to the cruise! :welcome:
