After listening to your show about the Princess Storybook breakfast at Norway in Epcot from 2/16/11, I had a few of my own comments I wanted to share.

I do have to agree that the food was not very good. I probably didn't think it was as bad as Pete did (although I did try the pickled herring and about threw up), I ate enough of everything there and was ok with it. If you take into account the price factor - totally not worth it. It was fine for a once-in-forever type meal, but I probably will never go there again.

Something that did help quite a bit - and made our meal actually worth it - we used our dining plan SINGLE TABLE SERVICE CREDIT. This included the picture package as well in the credit. We saw our actual bill for 2 adult and 2 children and it was about 130$ - FOR BREAKFAST!! Using the credit was more than worth it. I suggest that people seriously consider using their dining credit on something like this. We paid out-of-pocket for dinner at Tutto Italia that night and actually saved about 50$ by using our credit for breakfast instead.

We also enjoyed a few other breakfasts during our trip (early October 2010). Our favorite by far was the O'hana friends breakfast at the POLY, followed by the Donald's Safari breakfast at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom (very nice array of food - loved the carved ham), this princess breakfast above ranked #3/4, and the worst character breakfast we had was actually the Hollywood and Vine with the playhouse disney characters - Pete needs to try this place out and see if he can find anything at all to like - I dare him. The only thing I liked about H&V was the fact that we were inside the park before the opening and were at the very front of the line, about #10, for Toy Story Mania when it opened.

Of all the Princess meals we have done, we absolutely loved the Cinderella's Royal Table. Dining in the castle, wonderful food, great character interaction, pictures included, etc... best use of dining credits to use with kids. Even the dinner at Ariel's Grotto at Disneyland is better than Akershus. Once again, don't even try to enjoy going to Akershus for breakfast unless you use a dining credit or REALLY ENJOY AND HAVE TO SEE THE PRINCESSES and don't care about eating real food. Your wallet will thank you!

The worst part is this breakfast used to be REALLY good. We did it in 2004 and everyone talked about how good the food was almost as much as they talked about the princesses we met. So they need to raise the prices, I understand that and I know the main attraction is the princesess, but there is just no reason for the bad food. It's just a shame. :sad2:

We did both two weeks ago, Norway and Cinderella's Castle and we payed cash but we did have tables in Wonderland.

After Pete's review of Norway, I have to say I was worried. Happily they must have listened because the bagels had flavour and the eggs were good (and I hate eggs) PHeww. Even my kids ate lots of food.

Was it worth the price, well with the photos, and not having to wait long times to get the princess photo definately.

Cindy's however is not worth it, The food was horrible - I ate bites, but the princesses were great. Ariel even asked my son if he needed a dingle hopper.

Our photos were great there, and my kids loved being inside the castle.

Next time what will I do?

I will go to Norway again, but not likely Cindy's - my girls are getting older so they don't need the castle experience.

In my opinion - for the price the food at WDW costs and this goes for everywhere...there is no reason for bad food.

I understand it's a theme park and it's going to be overpriced. I give Disney big props for having so many food choices and places to eat. For as much diversity as they have in their restaurants and as many varied palates they have to satisfy - I think they do a great job. At 130$ for breakfast for a family of 4, I got a nice family photo with a princess and a plate of food that I could have had better done at Denny's and that's not saying much. Still glad I was able to use my dining plan credit for this and not pay out-of-pocket.

They could have done much better and I hope that they continue to evaluate their service and try to improve.

I'll be really interested to see how our May visit to the Norway princess breakfast holds up to the last three years. We've had a good time each year, with our girls at prime princess ages, and we've always come away well fed. I'm concerned that recently reported-on changes will change this, but this has become a first-full-day-breakfast tradition, so here's hoping!
