The Whispering Canyon Cafe lunch ends at 2:30pm, and dinner doesn't start until 5pm. I made an ADR for a late lunch, which is at 2:15pm. Curious...how rushed by the staff do you think we'll feel eating our lunch? Wondering if anyone else out there has been in this predicament?

Thanks, in advance, for the replies!

Any server worth their salt will hide their irritation if they are irritated. Every customer deserves to enjoy their experience.

You won't be rushed at all! We had a late dining reservation at a few restaurants and we ate leisurely with no problem!:thumbsup2

We had a late lunch reservation one time at Kona Cafe. It was actually a very good experience. We were not rushed at all. The restaurant emptied out to only a few tables and the service was excellent.

Late lunch is perfectly acceptable. I'd even argue that a late dinner reservation, at Disney, is perfectly acceptable as well.

Now at home, I would never go into a table service restaurant less than an hour before closing. Everyone wants to go home and showing up asking them to re-clean their kitchen equipment is a no fun way to get a lackluster meal. Better off finding a grocery store or fast food for late night eats.

I think it's more acceptable at Disney due to the highly competitive nature of dining reservations and the fact that Disney wouldn't offer later dinner reservations if they didn't have the capacity for it. I'm not saying to lollygag after eating a late dinner, but I'm saying that since you're at Disney, and have a reservation, it's perfectly acceptable for you to take the normal amount of time it takes you and yours to eat a meal.

We have a 2:15 reservation at BOG for lunch. It is all we could get but actually timing is good for us as we are going into the park during the day and stays for MNSSHP. I felt like I was lucky to get the reservation!!

The staff is scheduled to work beyond what is the closing Lunch hours, I personally find that those last reservations are the best, you would not be rushed.

I am planning on making a late Sanaa lunch reservation when I go in January. I chatted with Disney cast members on the website because I didn't want to make someone stay longer because I had a late lunch. They said they are preparing for dinner, so it's not a problem.

Not sure if this occurs every day, but we left there around like 1-1:15, and as we were leaving, a group from one of the behind the scenes tours was escorted in for lunch. The lunch was part of their tour. I'd imagine they're still there through the end of lunch based on the size of the group, so I'm sure they are used to people still eating and ordering past the cut-off time.
