2/13/2011 Disney Dream 4 Day Cruise

Which night is formal night?

Found this on Disney.com

Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are "Cruise Casual"—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements. Here's a breakdown of these events by cruise itinerary.

On 4-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night"—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

I am not sure if DH is bringing a jacket, anyone not bringing one?
Night 2 is Valentine's Day- I really hope that is dress-up night and not Pirate night!

i believe that valentines day will be formal night, and pirate night is usually castaway cay night, witch would be perfect to have fireworks on our wedding night. 3 weeks and we head to fl.  :cool1:

I'm sure my DH won't want to wear a jacket. I'm hoping he can get away with dress pants and a dress shirt. I love dress up night, but DH hates it. We went NCL last time just so there was no formal night.

We're also still waiting on our room number, I can't wait.

Anyone else staying at the AKL the night before?

Trying to decide if I want to pack the tux or not for a 4 night. Will bring a jacket even if I don't, but I don't think there is anything mandatory that I have ever seen. In fact I have seen people less casual than cruise casual on some formal nights.
Well, we're a little slow in getting on board...Just booked today! It will be me 50 and my DH 55 and this will be our 3rd Disney cruise.
Hi!! :wave2:

We will be at AKLV the night before, but not getting in until late. Maybe not until 10 or so - we have an 8:15 arrival at MCO.

We get in on Thurs- I have seen Boston airport screwed up for days b/c of snow so I am taking no chances! LOL If I have to- I'll drive!!

I have a ton of time share weeks banked so I am staying at Marriott Harbour Lake. After the cruise we are staying with my parents at Bonnet Creek until Sunday morning.

Another no DH wearing a jacket here! :rolleyes1. He'll be in dress pants & a button down. It's one degree here this a.m. I took the dog for a walk & my nose-stuff ;) froze with my first breath :thumbsup2 Even if we have cloudy, 50 degree weather the whole trip (we better NOT) it'll still feel tropical.

We are also at AKLV after the cruise until Sunday. I worry more about our connection in Atlanta (where they don't deal well with weather) than I do about getting out of our airport.

No jacket for DH here either. Partly because he dislikes it, partly because we fly Sun am and we want to carry on rather than check our bags to save time so we are planning to pack light. And it's a struggle to get DS to dress up and sit still at dinner, it will be a lot more relaxing for all of us if we skip formal night. I suppose we could send him to kids club, but still we'd be challenged with suitcase space.

WELCOME, usually night 2

We are still on the waitlist for DVC at AKV holding out for a studio:rotfl2:
Here is some pixie dust you will get an upgradepixiedust:
The formal night is as dressy as you want to get, You don't have to dress up formal if you don't want to. I believe the only place a jacket will be required is REMY they are strictly enforcing that.

Don't know if any of the rest of you are signed up with Dreams Unlimited, or if you are driving yourself to the port, but I just got this email tonight:

"For those of you driving to the port, we have been advised that a portion of the highway leading to Port Canaveral has been closed due to an accident. You will find more information concerning this story by visiting http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/disney-...ions_of_highway_leading_to_Port_Canaveral.htm on the DIS website. There is a suggested alternate route to the port in that story. It appears the closure could be for as long as 25 days."

Must have been a really terrible accident, and we will have to keep tabs as we are driving ourselves to the port.

Thanks for the heads up, we will be driving down.

Hopefully everything will be cleared by the time we go!! I was going to stay in Orlando the night before now I'm not so sure.

This article says that they will close the road that goes under the bridge, and use the on and off ramps to keep traffic flowing on the highway - which sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the info, I saw the thread but figured it only pertained to current cruises since it was just an accident so I didn't read it, must be some damage to the bridge:confused3
