2 1/2 weeks to go and just found out I'm preggers!!

First off, Congratulations!

I hope your MS doesn't affect your trip at all and you have a fantastic time! I used "ginger trips" and drank a lot of lemon ginger (iced)tea. Crackers before you get out of bed was always a good staple too.

I had pretty severe morning sickness also and the only way I survived was with ginger capsules and the sea bands. Together, they worked really well for me. The ginger capsules are great because it is a good dose of ginger without having to drink liquids like ginger ale all day. :)

Zofran and graham crackers. Take it as soon as you wake and wait to get moving until it's settled. Then continue to take it whenever you are allowed by the prescription. I would focus on staying well during the trip and wait till I got home to test how long I could stretch the pills out. Once you let yourself feel sick it's hard to get rid of. That was my experience anyway.

Also, if you take your prenatal vitamins before you go to bed instead of in the morning, that may help as well. I finally figured this out during my third pregnancy, and it made a big difference! :)

Your post reminded me of my daughters' Morning sickness, her afternoon sickness, her evening sickness and her late night sickness. She was sick every minute of every day when she was expecting. ( She actually has two children :) ).

There was nothing she could take but for meds that might have caused medical issues for the baby.

My daughter and son-in-law along with their son, The best grandson and grandma could ever ask for, lived with us while they were having a home built. I actually got to the point her getting sick didn't bother me after a while.

I would like to remind you to not get over tired, drink plenty of fluids--water is best--and eat what ever stays down. Those vitamins are so hard on your stomach. I would ask the Dr. if He/She can prescribe anything that would break up the dose might be easier to take. I am thinking it is the iron in the vitamins that cause the upset stomach.

Last let me say congratulations. Be careful taking any otc meds and /or health foods for motion control. Make sure with the Dr. that they are safe for you and baby. :). I hope all works out and that you have a great time.

If they rx'd you Zofran (ondansetron) you should add in some colace or stool softener, the walking and heat can really dehydrate you fast as it is, and Z is notorious for making constipation hell.

If you can, I'd recommend Benadryl (at night) and/or the Unisom/B6 combo already referenced. Meclizine (which is OTC) can also be helpful.

Make sure you do not get dehydrated. Do not be above using a wheelchair, remember that in addition to the weight loss and weakness that can come with strong morning sickness, first trimester fatigue can be killer. Set yourself for a slower pace.

Congratulations and good luck!

First off, congratulations on your new little one. How very exciting.

I really believe every person is different so what may work for one may not work for someone else. For me, the only thing I could stomach with my 2nd was maple & brown sugar oatmeal. And lots of warmed ginger ale. The thought of these 2 together now makes my stomach turn but it worked for me then. My SIL had morning sickness so bad she was actually hospitalized numerous times for dehydration. So my #1 suggestion is try and keep as much fluid going in as possible. Check with your doctor to see if a sports drink is okay to have - sometimes the salt in those is not good. My SIL did get some relief from those "Preggie Pops" (I've seen them at Motherhood Maternity stores). But she said she also found a bit of relief from just sucking on Jolly Ranchers and ginger ale as well.

However, talk with your doctor, if he prescribed you something that may be the best thing for you... but you probably know that already.

So excited but I can understand how you would not want to be dealing with this on your trip to DLR. Make the most of this trip and let you little know that she was at Disneyland before he/she was even born.

The preggie pops worked for me. They sell them at the baby stores. Jolly Ranchers work too. Not sure why but they do.

I second the Vitamin B as well. However do not take it after about noon or 1pm or it will keep you awake at night! I do not think I would take the unisom unless your dr oks it. My dr would say no no no to that.

Make sure you take time to rest while there too. Naps are important!

Congrats! :) The heat got to me last year and I was able to find crackers and sprite at White Water Snacks and that helped a lot. Hope it all goes well for you. :goodvibes

Thanks! I will for sure be bringing plenty, but its good to know where to find some if I run out!

Have you ever tried ginger pills? I've heard they're pretty great for nausea. You may look into something like that as well, just in case. I am pretty sure that anything with ginger is suppose to have a stomach calming effect. I've even seen candied ginger in the bulk bins of the grocery store. So, you may want to try that too.

Good luck, have fun and make sure to not over-do it! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Ohhh, good advice! Im not sure how I feel about ginger ale but I might be able to suck on some ginger hard candies. Thank you!

Unisom + Vit B Complex. Take 1 chewable unisom tablet at night before bed... it will last about 24 hrs to curb the sickness. The B Complex usually needs to be taken with food. One pill at breakfast and one at dinner help. This was the only way I got through with my second.

Have a great trip!!

Thank you!

Thank you for the advice! I hope I have a good time, too. I'm not a big tea fan, but I have been doing crackers before I get out of bed and that seems to be helping quite a bit. Thanks again!

I have a bad gag reflux right now so if the pills are large, I most likely will not be able to take it, but I did get the sea bands and so far they have been a god send. I still dont like the sound of food, but I dont feel nauseous all of the time! Thanks!

Thanks for the advice! i have been having to cut my pills in 2 so I can actually swallow them with my bad gag reflux I have right now!
