I am so Psched!! Me and DH are going for the first time for our 10-year annaversary!!! We will be enjoying the magic from Sept 30th to Oct 8th. Can someone tell us, what is the weather and the crowds like during this time? I love the boards!! I have made all of PS based on the reviews here! Thanks!!!

Welcome to the DIS, and congrats on your anniversary!

Weather will be quite warm still, though not as unbearably humid as in the summer.

Average highs in early October are in the upper 80s, and low 90s are not out of the question. Mornings are usually in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Crowds are quite manageable, arrive early and use FastPass!

Congratulations on your Anniversary, we celbrated our 30th this past Sept at POFQ. Hope you have a wonderful time :thumbsup2

Crowds may be a little heavier this year, due to the following:

Last day to start your vacation for free dining was Sept 30th. So many people booked the 1st week of october including Sept 30th.

Also Food and Wine at Epcot starts

New Celebration starts at WDW on 10-01

Mickey's not so Scary Halloweeen Part starts mid sept.

We changed from labor Day week to 1st week of oct and I had a somewhat harder time getting the exact ADR's we wanted. I changed over a month ago and it was hard at that time to get them.

Plus I think some schools get out for what the call Fall break. Ours only get 2 to 3 days no week or 2 like other states.

We went the first week of October last year. Weather was pretty good, except for a few storms when Tropical Storm Tammy passed through. Crowds were light the first part of the week, but gradually increased as the Food and Wine Festival got going. World Showcase was crazy busy, but the rest of the parks were not bad at all.

Hi and congrats on your upcoming anniversary!

DH and I will be going for our 2nd anniversary 9/30-10/4. We've been going the first week of October since our Disneymoon in 2004.

Anyway, we've foudn the crowds to be great. Even last year with free dining wasn't as bad as people made it seem like even though there was F&W, MNSSHP, and stuff.

And the weather is...hot. But then again, we're from MN so it doesn't take much for us to think it's hot.

Have fun! See ya there! :)

Crowds are unpredictable; usually October is a good time to go in spite of the Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP. But free dining may put a surge into those usual crowds. Weather is usually terrific, but be prepared for short showers in the afternoon most every day. (Disposable ponchos are great to carry in your fannypack or whatever . . . . )

Since the holiday week-end falls on the 7th-8th-9th, I'd try to plan my MK days early in your trip.

A big congratulations to you on your anniversary, and welcome to the DIS !

Hi SuzyatDisney
Congratulations...
We (DH & I) will also be there celebrating our 20th Anniversary  Sept 26 to Oct 6....
We were there in Oct 01 and it was not crowded at all (walked on most rides) and a cool front had come through but only cool in mornings and evening for a couple of days and it rained once, but nothing at all like our Aug 03 trip... (Hot, crowded and raining everyday..) So, we have choosen to stick to October.
~enjoy your trip.....

I went last year from 10/1-10/6 and the weather was definitely hot! I'm planning my next trip for February instead. The crowds were very manageable. The longest wait was for Soarin'(about 90 minutes) but with a FP you can avoid that. For some reason, Monday in the MK was very busy but we just hopped to AK instead and returned the next day to find most of the crowd had left! Enjoy!
