I noticed that the new package blacks out the first week of December. Traditionally right after Thanksgiving is usually pretty low crowds. Is it expected to be busier???

I am still trying to put together a quick trip for December or January. Ironically seems like there is something up w/ every timeframe I pick.

I know the Pop Warner thing is going on. So, are there no discounts because the rooms are already pretty full? Pop Warner doesn't affect park levels too much though right??

I'm not looking to use the discount as we'd be pricelining a room for offsite. This would be a quick 4-5 day getaway on a budget being so close to the holidays. I just thought it might be nice to see the decorations and attend MVMCP.

Any insight is appreciated.

We're headed there Nov. 26-Dec. 4th. I've checked rooms on the WDW site and on Expedia, and it seems like there is availability everywhere right up until Friday Dec. 2nd. Then from the 2nd throught the 4th everything looks really booked. So even though the package covers the first few days of Dec, those days do look really booked.

I was curious too as to why those days are blacked out. Maybe Pop fills up too many Value and Mods?

Curious myself.

Hoping someone else might have some insight. Just got our tax refund and I want to spend it. Well on Disney of course!! (and a few pesky house repairs).

That first week of december is very popular for DVC ... there is limited to no availability in any type of room in any DVC resort for the first week in december.

Perhaps that week will be busier due to the influx of DVC'ers?

First week of December is Pop Warner Week - lots of little football players and cheerleaders December 4th - 10th I believe.

They stay at the value resorts, but sometimes spill into a few moderates.

My dh has a conference at the swan nov. 27-dec. 1st. They are expecting like 6,000 people and have booked lots of rooms at the swan, dolphin, coronado springs and Por I think. Plus some of the dtd hotels too. I dont have the whole list in front of me, we registered for the conference the lst day and put our request in for the swan. I am sure we will get it because we told them there are 5 of us. We also got the great mousefest rate for dec 1-4 for the rest of our trip. So we are just staying at the swan the whole time. I tried at lst to get contemporary for the last 3 nights but no luck. I think they were holding rooms for another conference.

I wonder if it is POFQ because it is almost completely booked for that week and has been for quite some time, according to WDW and Expedia.

What's the mousefest rate?

Shel

The Mousefest rate is $129 a night for Dec. 1st-3rd. I know we got it at the swan but I dont know if its for the dolphin too and I dont know how many rooms were/or are still available. Another Dis'er posted about it and we asked and called right away. The first cm at the swan said it was not available, then I think dh called again and talked to someone else.
