***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I will say that those collages use very small pictures which is ideal when you do not like being photographed! LOL! I really like the idea of that artwork though! It's really too bad I could not go t the bank here and demand pennies! They already think I'm weird for asking $40 worth of dollar bills!

Oh I didn't even think of that with you being in Canada. I think you'll like the collage more anyway, especially since you want to document the trip with your DS!

does he play pokemon go? does he gotta catch 'em all? lol

He totally would if he had a smartphone! He's horrible on devices mainly because of his line of work and it being in his pocket all the time. So he has a rugged flip phone and he was begging for a smartphone upgrade when Pokemon Go came out. I keep putting it off financially though. Those things are so expensive nowadays!

Ugh, still sick today :( Luckily I work a split shift so I'm laying on the couch watching tv until I have to go back to work.

No magicbands yet...it looks like they're somewhere in PA right now.
Oh no....I hope you feel better. Split shift...ugh! You're brave...and I complain about overnight work...LOL. Take care of yourself.

So last night DH got really excited over pressed pennies of all things. :confused3 So I was looking into how many there are and geez oh pete! I'm trying to figure out what a reasonable amount of coins to take is. But I also wanted to have a plan for them when we got home. I'm sure we'll be making a photo book of the trip afterwards and we could attach them to pages in there. But I also saw this and thought it was really cool. If we did it on rustic wood, it would even fit our decor at home.

I counted. 137 pennies and 19 quarters (I think). That totals $84.12. Not terribly bad for a Disney souvenir really. But is it possible or advisable to try to get this many coins pressed in one trip? It does sound fun to track them down during our park touring and resort hopping. I found this website with tons of info: http://www.themouseforless.com/disney-downloads/pocket-guides/pressed-coins-checklists/

What is everyone else's plan for pressed coins? I see a lot of people are putting coins on their packing list and park bag lists. :D
Can you press Canadian pennies? They're worthless here :)

Yep sure did. I am excited to have more pictures of DH and I. We haven't really had any pictures worthy of printing since our wedding over 4 years ago.
:thumbsup2 Nice! I'm totally debating whether I should get the one from Universal... hoping it would go on sale :scratchin

I have it highlighted on my list as a possible to do. It doesn't seem as convenient as the MM at WDW, but I'm still tempted. I need to research that more to make a decision. I'd hate to have almost no pictures of us at Universal!

:rotfl2: I think the pennies you might get away with, but maybe not the quarters you pay with.
I think DD will like the pressed penny thing but I just don't really "get" the idea behind pressed coins. So we do have a few pennies so she can press them (Canadian ones). A few years ago in the US I accidentally tried to pay for something and had a CAD penny and the person got really ticked off...jeez I know the currency conversion sucks but calm down! LOL. Speaking of cash, I don't think I'm going to be paying with too much cash, just for tips really...otherwise it goes on the Magic band/credit card.

haha, I love the FAQ for the drone show that yulilin3 posted from The Hub! Good to know they won't be spying on me through my hotel window! :rotfl:

"From the HUB

This holiday season, the idea of “wishing upon a star” will take on an even more magical meaning in the skies of Disney Springs with a new holiday entertainment experience. Click here for a first look.

In preparation for this experience, rehearsals will take place in the evening and overnight at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from November 7-10 and at Disney Springs from November 11-15. To avoid disruptions, Cast Members and Operating Participant employees should remain clear of rehearsal areas.

Reactive FAQs:
If Walt Disney World can fly drones over its property, why can’t Guests?
Most of Walt Disney World Resort is private property, and drones cannot be flown here without permission.
Are you planning to add drone shows elsewhere at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort?
We look forward to delighting our Walt Disney World Guests with this experience at Disney Springs during the holiday season but we have nothing further to share at this point.
Are there any privacy concerns? Will these drones be capable of tracking guests?
No. The drones used for the holiday entertainment are show drones and do not have any cameras installed or tracking capabilities.
Do these drones have cameras? Can they look into my Disney Resort hotel room?
No. The drones used for the holiday entertainment are show drones and do not have any cameras installed or tracking capabilities.
Is there a danger of a drone falling down on top of Guests?
No. A geofence has been installed to maintain a safe perimeter around the show area (a minimum of 150’ feet away from people, per FAA regulations). If a drone were to accidentally cross the geofence, it is programmed to return to its point of origin."

On another note, what is everyone doing for carseats when travelling with kids? I thought in FLA if they are 6 and older they don't need a carseat?

It would be the same as Disney where photographers are willing to take pictures with you camera. It's just inconvenient. :P When we went last time, it was not as expensive as it is now so it was a pretty easy decision. But now... I really hope they have some sort of sale since I dont want to pay $90 for 4 days :P

Those are pretty hilarious! Not going to lie though, I did think of the one I quoted. But I just resigned myself that they will surely have some crazy safety measures in place.

Yup same here, some cash just in case of emergencies but would mainly pay with magic band/ credit card.

Took me forever to catch up with you all this morning. You've been very prolific!

This is smart! Do any of you guYs know how big of a bag you can bring on the rides? Is a backpack too big?

Although I prefer to go without a bag if I can get away with it we have brought a medium sized backpack with us. I always secure it by my legs during the rides without problem.

also to catch up what I am surmising I missed out on based on later posts and quotes...
I don't wear makeup. I barely have the time/gumption to get myself dressed in the morning, let alone put on makeup. Also during grad school this one woman who always came in beautifully done up came in one day without makeup and everyone thought she had cancer or something. I would rather people be used to my normal plain and pallid self than think I am dying of some horrific disease when I get lazy or busy one day.

Also I am not trying to lose 10 lbs before this trip. I can't stop and start like that. After the trip I am planning to try to focus more on the healthy lifestyle again as a lifestyle. I have too much to lose to "binge diet" before a big event, I need to make real changes and the best way to derail myself is to insert a vacation 1 month after I start and then feel like a failure when I can't keep it up (i know myself). So just kind of treading water but now that we got that hour I am considering starting to do a walking video every morning I can to build up some stamina for the trip. That is a worthwhile goal!

@Lisa F you are truly wise! and very funny!

@areno79 hope you feel better very soon! I'm feeling much better today! up and around doing laundry and very thankful I am retired! Hope you can get some rest in!

My magic bands are also out for delivery today:dogdance:
