@Wood Nymph Chicago is such a wonderful city! I'd really like to take the train some time and stay for a few days to explore with the kids. I wouldn't do well driving in the traffic. It's bad enough as a passenger, which I've experienced several times! lol People who live there seem to adjust and manage it quite well. I'm just not there often enough to become acclimated I suppose. But really such a fantastic city to visit, I really love it there. :-)

I want to get all 4 but I'm going to be carrying a lot of fragile stuff with a toddler seems very difficult... Love the disney princess ones too... I got a set of villains at home and love those. :P
you have two adults, you can handle it. when you buy it in the parks they will send it back to your room (not on the last day though, they need a day or two to transfer it) and then you can pack it in your carry on while the other one handles the kid. the boxes have held up in shipping very well so they are good boxes for the mugs.

True, have to think about it more and see if it's worth the trouble. :)

I just realize I reached double digits (99days) to my trip today, counting in our stay at Universal! woohoo... :D

I still have to book airfare! Trying to decide between leaving out of MHT (which is literally 1 mile from my house) or driving the 45 mins to BOS and having more flight options. Problem is that I have to work on that Friday...hoping for a 1/2 day or at least getting out of work a couple hours early, otherwise the flight we'll end up taking arrives at MCO at 11:25pm. I won't mess with ME that late at night, so that'll mean we'll either get a taxi or town car from the airport to AoA, since we want to be at rope drop the next morning. I also don't want to spend a ton on airfare either, so trying to figure out all my options.

I'm flying out of providence to avoid boston. I would pay more :-p it's a 45 minute ride plus parking plus shuttle plus traffic plus boston. bleh.

So funny! Just really grateful there are others of like mind! No detail is really too small around here. Page after page dedicated to park bags or snacks for example. It's WONDERFUL and so FUN!! My excitement level for our trip is always up a notch or 10 after poking around here for a while. :-)
I totally agree with you. That's why I joined the Dis. I'm especially thankful for this thread. You guys rock! My husband says his brain can't think of where we'll be eating on a Monday night in December when it's only May. (At the time I started planning.) I love that everyone here gets my crazy thinking.

For souvenirs, we always get an ornament. Both boys pick one, and I get one for all of us. Have them personalized. I like to find stuff we'll use often to bring home with me to get me through the post Disney depression. Nothing over the top, just daily type things. I have a Mickey Mouse pizza cutter that we love. Mickey corn cob holders. I usually get a magnetic notepad for grocery lists. T-shirts for the boys. We had a popcorn bucket set we used for several years and it was our favorite souvenir, but it rusted finally. (It was metal.) hubby likes to get a travel mug. I love those vintage looking park map plates and vintage ride glasses. Haven't gotten them yet though. I am really interested in the Disney Floral in room tree. I know I could make like 10 trees for the same price, but may do it. I dunno. Both my husband and I were terrible about buying every stuffed animal, pirate sword, whatever, when the boys were little. I'm sure that when Disney put in the gift shops at the end of rides that they were thinking of us. We are excellent consumers. Last year we went in September and it was the first time I just didn't buy much. Oh, when the boys were younger they loved the pressed pennies. We still have our book.

It's a certain mentality for sure that not absolutely everyone appreciates! lol I love that everyone here seems to be of a like mind when it comes to Disney planning. :-)

Oh, I would totally get that tree if I could!! I haven't actually seen it yet, but I bet it's adorable!! :santa:

Is it weird that I'm excited about having a cup of tea tonight and catching up on all the snack and souvenir ideas ?!
That sounds like a LOVELY way to spend some time! If it's weird, I'm right there on the weird couch with you! :-)

Haha BF is coming home tonight and usually I am super excited to see him without children hanging all over us but I'm thinking "OMG SO MUCH IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON THE DIS WHILE I AM GONE!" lol. It's ok, it will be a nice night of steaks and x-files. Tomorrow I will be right there along side you all on the weird couch!

Also, isn't disney personalization on the ornaments just the best? how do they train them to all write so beautifully!?

Smart girl! I wish JetBlue would fly out of MHT. The only airline that flies direct to MCO from MHT is Southwest. DH and I are what I like to call "fluffy", so I don't want to have to worry about the whole customer of size/potential embarrassment, even though we're fine on every other airline we fly on. Plus we like to know our seats ahead of time. Also, Southwest is hella expensive for our dates! I'd maybe take a chance if they were a little cheaper, but right now they're shaking out to be more expensive than JetBlue! The biggest issue is that even having to deal with driving into Boston, the flight times still put us at MCO earlier than the late flight from MHT because BOS has so many more flight offerings. Plus it's December, so you have to consider weather too. I hate this part of planning! LOL

I'm fluffy myself but I travel with a little 8 year old so we are good in that respect in 2 seats. But I hear you on that. it is just SO much easier for me to fly out of PVD but I used to fly jet blue like crazy (they do have one or two flights out of PVD but were twice as expensive). in 2014 on the way out they didn't hassle me at all... shoes stayed on, backpack stayed packed... on the way out. When I came back my flight was scheduled to land at 1:05. It actually landed at 12:40 and by 1pm I had my luggage and was in my car waiting to get out of the parking lot. You can't beat that! but yeah, when my kiddo turns into the 6'2 monster he is going to be fully grown I won't have that luxury anymore.

I need to trade my 6'2 DH for a small child for a more comfy airplane ride then! :rotfl2:

And I totally get what you're saying for convenience. With MHT so close to my house, it's nice to be home 10-15 mins after my flight lands!

I have anxiety about the same thing you do though so if that were the case I might deal with boston. but while i have the little kiddo, PVD it is.

We interrupt the travel/flight portion of your Disney planning experience to take a quick detour into the snacks category! (See how great I blend into the weird couch?! haha)

Something on the boards reminded me...cheeseburger egg rolls!! We're intrigued and plan on trying them. Has anyone tried them before?
