***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Asking again, is it confirmed about the SW dessert party for December? Little out of the loop, it's busy around here.

We're at our 100 day mark! Woot woot!

Here's the updated itinerary so far:

November 29th -- Late arrival into BCV. (10:30pm). Girls will be in jammies for the flight. Tentative arrival to resort at midnight.

November 30th -- Sleep in. Lunch at Rose and Crown (12:45). Depending on how the girls are doing, either a few hours in the world showcase or we'll go back to the room and nap and maybe a bit of pool time. For dinner we have a 7:00 ADR for Raglan Road (yes, very similar foods. DH was insistent on this and it is what it is. We love the entertainment though!)

December 1st -- Transfer to AKL. We will go to Animal Kingdom for lunch, Yak and Yeti and do a few rides and/or shows. Hopefully our room will be ready and we'll rest before our big night at MVMCP! Depending on who is hungry (probably just the girls) we'll grab a bite to eat at a QS spot. We then have reservations for the dessert party! We will have a double stroller so if the girls pass out, we can stay till midnight. :)

December 2nd -- Breakfast at H&V at 10am. FP+ for HS (haven't decided yet). Will park hop to Epcot for a 4:30 CP package at Tokyo Dining. We'll then enjoy the show!

December 3rd -- RD Magic Kingdom. Lunch at 11:10 at Liberty Tree Tavern. Afternoon break, and then a 6:10pm Chef Mickey's dinner. After, we'll enjoy the evening in MK!

December 4th -- Sleep in. Breakfast at 9:20 at GFC. We'll take it easy and tour the resort decorations. Long nap/rest time. We then have a 5:40 dinner at Frontera Cocina! After dinner, we'll mingle around Disney Springs.

December 5th -- DH and myself have a date at Universal Studios. Grandparents will watch the girls. They have a 5:50pm 1900 PF dinner! We'll eat in City Walk, probably Cow Fish. Not sure what park plans they have. I would guess Animal Kingdom!

December 6th -- RD Epcot! Garden Grill Breakfast at 9:20am. We'll tour Future World and then have a break for those that need it. Dinner that night is Cape May Cafe and Flying Fish (for a select few ;) )

December 7th -- My birthday! I have an 8:30 KTTK tour with my mom. After it's completed, DH and the girls will meet up with us and we'll enjoy MK through the evening! We have a 5:50 dinner at Kona Cafe.

December 8th -- RD AK! Tusker House Lunch at 11:30. We then will hop to Epcot for a CP package at Via Napoli at 4:45 for an 8:15 show.

December 9th -- Breakfast at 'Ohana's , last few hours at MK. Will need to return to AKL by 1:45 for DME. :sad2:

We took my cousin's daughter a few years ago when she had just turned 6, and she was the *perfect* age. Her parents would never be able to afford any kind of trip anywhere (especially to WDW) and even though it stretched our budget, we ended up taking her, and it was amazing. Easily our best trip ever. We had so much fun and created lasting memories. I love that I turned her into a Disney junkie, and she is now almost 13 and STILL talks about that trip. I ended up opening a Disney Visa to charge the extra cost, and it was totally worth it to see her excitement. I hope one day you can take your cousin, too.

I definitely crunched the numbers to see if it would be possible but I think more than the money, logistically it would be too complicated for this trip :( there are also 2 other cousins who, while not nearly as in to Disney as she is, would probably want to come too and I couldn't really only take the one and not the other two- especially since the other two are the same age and older (8). Guess I'll need to start buying those lotto tickets.

@jillyh here is one of the bags I am bringing (when we go back in the evenings I will offload the backpack and we'll wear sweatshirts i think)

it's a clutch with only a loop on one side but a friend is converting it to take a shoudler strap and I found a shoulder strap that matches the pink. I'm so jazzed. I have a purse problem :P
I'm limited to a laptop bag to work or a diaper bag any other time so I've been deprived for the last two years! Lol! Converting it to a shoulder strap will be great for Disney!

Edit: I did buy a pooh bear tsum tsum backpack for Disney so I'm pretty excited to use that!

Reading my post again, it came across as a little preachy, which wasn't my intention. Sorry if you took it that way, didn't mean to make you feel guilty or anything...I absolutely understand the finance aspect! I'll cross my fingers that you win some lottery money, and you can take all of your little cousins :)

I'm still on the fence about bringing a bag into the park. Over the years I've tried a fanny pack (Dear God, still ashamed of the pics from that :sad2:), backpack, and small cross body purse, and still haven't found a bag I like or that works for me. Ideally I'd just bring my tiny pocket wallet with ID, cash, and credit card and nothing else, but realistically I know I'm a packrat and bring too much crap. LOL
DH likes bringing a backpack (which is great because then I don't have to carry anything), and it really comes in handy when we start out wearing sweatshirts in the AM, and are sweating in the PM. But, it kind of becomes bulky if we go on a coaster or water ride...plus you have to go through the bag check, which stinks.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll bring my large Michael Kors purse with me on the plane, which is perfect for flying, but won't carry it around the park with me, so I need something else.
I'd like to be able to bring a disposable poncho for each of us, small sunscreen, bandaids, travel-size Aleve, some water flavor packets, as well as my phone, billfold wallet, and of course sunglasses. We'll each bring a cold water bottle into the parks with us and just fill it at the water fountains.

This is a great question. I think with DD (who will want to change into costumes in the park for meeting princesses) our family will need a backpack for sure. We'll put in our sunscreen, ponchos, water flavour drops, bottled water, small first aid kit, not sure what else??? And travel wallet for me which I'll put in my small crossbody bag. I have heard bag check is a nightmare but I don't really see an alternative? Wondering if We'll also have to pack a small cooler pack with snacks for DD - she loves fresh fruit and veg but I think you can buy that in the parks? I'm just wondering if it would be more of a pain to bring around a cooler bag (and order from garden grocer) or just buy stuff at the park.

When I've brought my little cousins, we definitely needed a backpack. Kids just need so much *stuff*! LOL If you have a stroller, it might be worth it to bring a small cooler pack and leave that in the stroller. If you don't need a stroller, bringing a small cooler pack in a backpack might be more of a pain than it's worth, KWIM? Our biggest concerns are staying hydrated, hence the flavor drops/packets and water bottles, staying dry, and staying warm when it gets chilly. Then we bring a granola bar or some almonds, or PB cracker pack...something small and portable if we're standing in line and hungry. Mostly though, we spend the money and get a snack if we really want it. (Mmmm, Mickey Bar *drool*)
We definitely do a Garden Grocer order when we go though. We don't eat big breakfasts, so it's worth it for us to get some bottled water, snacks, and portable breakfast items we can eat on the way to the parks.

It's so easy to haul a bunch of junk into the parks with kids, but I'm learning how to pair it down.

DD1 - extra outfit plus underwear, socks/shoes, water bottle, snack
DD2 - 2 extra outfits, diapers, socks/shoes, sippy, snacks

Sunscreen is a given as is bug spray. We typically just use a back pack and I leave the diaper bag in the room.

As for princess dresses, they'll both wear them once to dinner at 1900 PF. I don't even want to think about dragging them into the parks!

I'm so sad..... I set up the reservation finder and finally I got a text alert for a 3:25 H&V on 11/28. I zoomed over to the reservation page (already open and ready). I was already gone....:sad::sad:

So the search continues!!

I have a convertible backpack that I will bring. It's small enough not to be cumbersome and big enough for all my must have. My DD bought an adorable small backpack in the beginning of the summer. She was a camp counselor and all the staff and campers wanted one.

Ok, that is cute! Maybe I'll do some online searching and see what I can find in the way of a small backpack like purse. That's one bag I haven't tried.

We're at our 100 day mark! Woot woot!

CONFIRMED??? No, not really. But we all expect there will be SW fireworks AND a dessert party each night. Disney has been so unpredictable this year, I feel like I can't count on anything until we're actually in the middle of DOING it!

Congrats on the 25th anniversary! We'll be celebrating our 25th, too, although it was technically last year. 2016 is the 25th anniversary of our first trip to Disney together (my first ever; he'd been quite a few times with family and friends) and dh's 55th birthday. We're just rolling it all up into this year so we could go at Christmas time and get free dining!

We thought about going last year, but by the time we thought about it, we had missed the free dining offer so we decided to delay the trip to this year.

Thanks! and congratulations to you also!!! We also celebrate our "dateaverssary" :lovestruc Our actual anniversary is January 2nd, but I want the Christmas stuff and lower crowds so we fudge it a bit!

That is adorable Lisa F!!! I just realized they have the vera bradley disney bags on disneystore.com. They don't have my print which is mostly blue. If I were more tech savvy I would figure out how to take a pic and post it:)
