***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

yes, I think Skipper's Canteen for sure is going to bore her - there is a little bit of an entertainment factor but it is more "fans of the jungle cruise" type entertainment than something for little kids.

teppan edo might be a hit due to the show (most kids i know are enthralled by hibachi) but I see the pictures of the onion volcano and all I can think is "yeah yeah been there done that" (outside of disney). 50's PT does have the little tvs but not every table has them. It is entertaining in that the wait staff (if you get a good one) will interact with your daughter but it is not like what you are describing with the "kids corner." I have not heard anyone ragging on the plaza either.... it generally gets good reviews. the food is basic and has come up a lot in price from where it used to be but "Disney." they no longer take ADRs so it's a good place to play by ear.

Yup that's my thought on TE as well...especially since we have a Benihana here (which always runs Groupons) so I think we'll be happier snacking around the world showcase. I'm thinking the slushes in Japan, grabbing baguettes/croissants in France, pretzels in Germany and then add in some fresh veggie sticks and fruit would make DD happy. DH and I can always grab QS in France too which looks yummy.

I thought someone on the boards was saying the Plaza was yuck but I like the menu and there's an option for everyone plus you sit down. A TS without the fuss maybe?

We plan to have colouring books and supplies in my park bag for sure for DD. And I'm going to request a table with a TV at 50s prime time. We'll see.

Has anyone read the reviews of the SW Fireworks dessert party? Just take my money already! I'm bummed they renamed the kids drinks though, my dd wanted to have Padewan punch.

yeah the plaza is all sandwiches. how long can it take to make sandwiches? I imagine the service is pretty quick there. It's not like if you go to another place even if you order a salad or sandwich, it might get stuck in the kitchen behind 10 steaks.

OH NO, i need to read this. I am guessing from what you said, the indoor party RULED. Gosh I want to do this so badly. Where are the reviews? the running thread or elsewhere? off to explore.

I have tried the plaza last time we went and it was ok. Nothing special but not bad either. I hear the portions are smaller now though. DH was not particularly impressed with his very first meal at WDW.

You can look at the Official SW thread. Lots of info there, looks really good. Like @Mintycake just waiting for disney to take my money! (although I haven't really decided to let go of the Wishes one yet...) Still no seating but you can go to the benches at the meet and greet apparently. My problem is I have no idea what the layout of the Launch Bay is so some comments are a little hard to follow.

The SW party sounds really great. I guess we just have to wait and see when December dates are released. Sounds also like a great way to do the M&G with a minimal line and also check out Launch bay with less people around. This may have to shift my touring plan at HS if I go (I mean, if they still do them!)
Was just thinking of Plaza as an alternative to QS. I find in MK there aren't a lot of good places to eat.

an observation about F! hours and park closing - I don't think it will stay 7pm with 7pm F!.

If you look at the travel agent calendars if you look at every week that has both F! and fireworks, F! is a half hour after close and then fireworks is 15 minutes after that (45 minutes after close)... until you get to second week of november through the end of december (and probably beyond but who cares?) it says close at 7, F! at 7. the whole time. That is NOT going to be the case for thanksgiving, or christmas, or new year's. So basically- filler and placeholder. I think the worst we can expect i s7pm close, 7:30F! and 7:45 fireworks, which would mean 6:30 start time to the party.

this would not be a "first meal at WDW" choice for me, lol. completely not imperssive! I have never been there because I am not a huge sandwich fan. I mean, I don't dislike them but I don't actively seek them out either. I'd pick a hot meal 99% of the time over any kind of sandwich (or burgers, or wraps, or whatever)

Can anyone help me how to plan out fast pass? I have never used it before. I am thinking that I should have a list of must do rides and then a list of "will like to do but okay without" rides. Then what after that? Plan rides near and around the ADR to figure out what fast pass time I should reserve?

LOL, usually, me too (which is why I don't have much QS planned) but I did some items in the Plaza menu that looked ok (meatloaf and burgers). Plus it was MNSSHP for us that day so I needed something quick for dinner coming from Universal. :) It's not bad, just not particularly impressive.

I think you can start by looking at the fastpass+ boards, there is a thread there (everything fastpass?) that will show you how to prioritize. There is a lot of info on different websites too. It's a good start to read. A list of must dos is great to have as well. That's my start, at least. Last I went to WDW was 2012 so I've never used the fastpass + system either. I'm learning slowly as well :)

I still keep trying for CRT, any time and any day for my mom. I am nervous about FP, but we will see. Any suggestions on our plans would be nice.

Wait.
You have to pay for early admission? Or is this a dining package kinda thing? Looks like it's a way to do Extra Magic Hours, but have people pay for it.
It is $75 for early entry on top of a regular ticket. The days are separate from the resort EMH, similar to the one in MK. Breakfast looks better here, probably because there are less attractions included. You get a total of 75 minutes before other park goers. $1 a minute :o

yes it's a paid thing. that's the way disney is going :-p. I'm not sure if this will really impact crowds that day the way EE does. last discussion I heard about it people were saying no it wouldn't have the same impact.

Of course it is scheduled for Monday and Thursday, every crowd calendar's recommendation for DHS. I guess we will not be going to TSMM first thing in the am anymore on those days
I read another thread where it says that wait times are pretty much better than it was before for TSMM. Hopefully this will be until we get there and not just for now...
