***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

yes it is by the night. and it is active from when you check in until midnight of your checkout day.
that's how I am spreading my 4 nights of DxDDP credits over 5 full days/10 meals.
Okay will need to think about DDP more. Our first night we are only having a QS dinner as we are getting to the resort around 9pm. And on our departure day we'll only have a QS breakfast (grab and go) because we need to be on ME by 7am.

We looked at upgrading to the DDP, but for our family of 4 it was more economical to just do the regular DP and pay out of pocket for a few meals. My husband didn't want to be tied down to two TS per day (on one day we do have a TS breakfast and dinner) to feel that we were getting our money's worth. For us the DDP was over $700 more for the week which was far more than we'd spend on some OOP meals beyond the regular DP.

I'm so sad this morning that we are going to miss out on some good food (mostly breakfasts) but at the same time I'm really happy about the flexibility we're gaining. Now, our fastpasses are the only things "forcing" us to be at a certain place at a certain time. And I put that in quotes because most of them could be altered on the fly if need be, with the obvious exceptions of FEA and 7DMT (and possibly a few others that we don't have). When I had ADR's planned, I hadn't figured out a good day to go to Disney Springs and I was reluctant to plan any ADR's there because I just didn't know when we would get our fill of parks and be ready for something else. Now, I think we'll be able to find time to go there and we can just do it when we feel like it. If we end up wanting some ADR's later in the trip, we can always see what's available.

***I'm not AT ALL saying anyone else should do what we're doing. I'm just sharing my excitement about figuring out a plan that will work really well for MY family! It's like a slide puzzle and the picture is finally starting to come together. It doesn't look the way I thought it would look when I started planning this trip, but it does give me a sense of relief when I look at it. It feels like I can breathe again as I consider what our trip will feel like. I found our flow.

Hollywood Brown Derby F! package ADR for 2 available right now on 12/2 @ 1:45pm. Also, there's a 1:30pm for a party of 4 available on the same day.

Everyday I check there's been Hollywood Brown Derby avail...but no H&V! I'm guessing people don't see the value in HBD because it's a signature restaurant. I've seen more than one review that says they don't think it's worth the 2TS credits. I've never been so I can't say.

Same for us. We LOVE food (as evidenced by our waistlines lol), but I just couldn't justify the extra cost for DxDDP because we don't really eat at a lot of Signature restaurants and I know we wouldn't do 3 sit downs a day. I'm doing OOP for some of my meals (and probably some snacks), but it's still cheaper than paying for the DxDDP.

I have a HBD F! lunch package, but have been looking to switch to a dinner time. I'm not on the DDP so I don't know about the value of credits. I keep seeing H&V ADRs on the cancellation threads though.

Ok, so I just found and booked a Crystal Palace dinner for 12/4 for us. We already have Chef Mickey's at 7pm, but my thinking was that if that's the only night we can do ROL, and it's early, we have a better chance of making it with the earlier dinner. I'm in a quandary though if it comes down to it, if I should eat at CM's or CP. TOO MANY DECISIONS!!

@areno79, if you decide to drop your Chef Mickey, please let me know! I'm looking for a 7pm that night :-)

I'm so old! I don't even know how to tweet! Please keep us posted on this thread :) :)
I don't either!! I'm just getting it from this thread:

Apparently @WDWtoday is Disney's "official" Twitter handle. Some speculate that they would not make an announcement of much significance on Twitter, but other have pointed out that Disney is reportedly looking into buying Twitter so maybe it makes sense. IDK??????

Ok I am officially OUT of the ROL waiting/watching business. It's seems to just be one letdown after another dating all the way back to April when I booked my trip.

I think we need to adopt the "que sera sera" attitude here. We can leave a hole in our plans, and I'm sure we'll hear about it when it comes out. Going back to the conversation yesterday, I really do think that only the uber planners will be looking out for this, so we should be able to fit it in with a fast pass later by dropping one other thing!
