***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Anyone know what's going on in Epcot today? I just looked at wait times for rides and many of them say "temporarily closed" including:
Soarin
TT
Spaceship earth
Mission space
Figment
Ellen's
I'm looking at lines app and it shows everything has wait times now:

Soarin- 11mins expected, 15 mins posted
mission space- green 8 mins expected, 10 mins posted
mission space- orange 11 mins expected, 15 mins posted
journey w/ figment- 7 mins expected, 10 mins posted
ellen's- 4 mins
test track- 34 mins expected, 40 mins posted

is wdw site still showing it's down?

Yep. I just looked at (10:09am EST) and many are still showing "temporarily closed" (in MDE)

what app is that? not mde

Lines App- Touring Plans
did you have to pay for that one? I think I heard it's better than the MDE app. Which by the way, now sucks on Android. I can't see any FP stuff on it! I just get an error message. That better be fixed before our trip!!!

Yes, it's $15 I think? There are discounts on it but I purchased too quickly. :P I heard they post better wait times and MDE is usually inflated.

The lines app comes with a touring plans subscription. If you buy the "Unofficial Guide to Disney World" book or search for a discount code you can get it for less than $15. It's been helpful for me and helps optimize touring plans. And I like checking out the wait times and next fast pass availability. i've heard some people say it's more accurate the MDE but I don't have first hand experience. It tells you when lines are dropping and whether they recommend waiting on a particular ride until times drop. One of my friends swears by this app so I joined touring plans and downloaded it.

I think I have a plan for my AK day!!!!! I am kinda following @LisaF 's plan... She is a wise woman

This our first time in AK... these are the kids picks of must dos.

Arrive for EMH - Head to Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl and Triceratops spin. Ride, ride, ride while the lines are short. Maybe Check out Cretaceous Trail
Head to Asia for FP+ Safari for 9:30, Gorilla Falls and Lion King (hoping the 11am show does not cut utit too close to the 11:30 ADR)
Head to Yak and Yeti 11:30 ADR
After lunch Flight of wonder, Mahajarah Jungle Trek
2pm FP+ Everest
2:30 SDFP Everest
4PM SDPF Nemo

add A QS and snacks as need in the afternoon.

5:00 head to DHS for 1st December SW Dessert Party!

:offtopic: Just went into Starbucks today and it feels so much like fall already! All the pumpkin inspired goodies... Feels like our trip is so much closer! I feel happy but have a slight panic too! So much more to plan! :stir:

I went into the grocery store last night and was SO tempted to buy some pumpkin treats. It smelled so good it just made me want comfort food :)

it's like every other aspect of women's lives... beauty, cooking, homemaking... we work so hard to make it look effortless. why not vacation planning too?

Seriously! DH always complains about how long it takes me to get ready, but then he tells me how pretty I look. I tell him it takes alot of work (and smoke and mirrors) to look this good! ROFL

Good morning, all!! I was thinking about how soon it's coming this morning! It feels like I just made my adrs (aaaand now still trying for one more!! Funny how that happens ! My last "one more" turned into a "never mind, changed my mind!". ..... ( but really , this new one more is the last one :thumbsup2) and now it's fp time! That means the amount of time from making adrs to now is the same amount of time we have from now until our trip!!!! Too much thought into this?!

Oh! And were you guys referring to the mvmcp last night? Well, dec 8 is now 6 tickets closer to sell out because we bought ours this weekend!!:santa::banana::cool1:

Our top fp!!
Mk - 7dmt, splash mountain, btmrr, haunted mansion
Epcot- fea
Ak - safari, flights of wonder and still not sure.. Maybe lion king. I can't decide if my girls will love or hate dinosaur

Woot woot!! Another 12/8 partier joining the ranks! :cool1:

@Candycane83 which characters are at the character spot??
And I think I may add the rapids ride. I think my girls might like that. Speaking of water rides, has anyone been to any of the splash areas in the parks? I saw the water play area at mk and I think we'll be stopping there. But I did hear there are some at Epcot? Are they any good? Or not really... My kids just love them. I don't really want to waste time there, but I'd want to prepared in case we see them!!

We love Kali River Rapids...it's one of our favorite rides at AK :)

My problem with coasters is that my two year old will not be tall enough for any of them... maybe barnstormer if he grows a little more. :rotfl: he's a little shortie like his parents! But this trip, we will minimize that and just concentrate on what he could ride. This is probably why I'm not too concerned about getting a 7DMT FP... if ever, we would try to do rider swap for most rides at Universal, and in WDW, it would just be 7DMT, Soarin, Test Track and maybe single rider for Everest at night.

Why don't you guys do the rider swap at Disney? Then you'll both get to ride the coasters while the other person stays with your DS :)

Hmm.. I would do those rides I mentioned once each but I want to concentrate on what DS can do there. It's his first trip after all. :) Besides, DH is not too into rides anyway. I'll make it up by spending some time in WS... hopefully, DS naps then! :scratchin

Hmm, I've been thinking of buying that book with a B&N GC I have. I wonder if monetarily it's worth it to buy the book though. Does buying the book entitle you to a free TP subscription and the free app??

Maybe DS will nap in his stroller and you can ride one or two of the rides :)

I bought the book to knock me up to the free shipping ceiling for the Harry Potter play, and I have loved reading it. There is seriously SO MUCH INFORMATION. The darned thing is probably 3 inches thick if not more. It won't give you a free subscription, but it gives you a significant discount. I ended up paying $8.42 for the year subscription.

Hi Everyone!

I am a quiet lurker on this thread and post intermittently. Anyways, is anyone in this thread headed to Universal for a day during their vaca? Are you planning on doing both parks? If so, all in one day or more?

We are! It's actually our first park day of the trip. We're only doing one day, park to park. Honestly, we aren't crazy concerned with much of anything except Harry Potter, seeing what they do for "Grinchmas" and the Macy's Parade. If we have time to hit other things, great, but if not, I won't be upset. Right now, it has the park hours as closing at 7pm the night we go 12/5, so I'm thinking we will get there at park opening, stay all day, and I'd like to get a dinner reservation around 7:30pm at the new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium once they start taking reservations. I've got a friend who is working seasonally down there with Halloween Horror Nights who I asked to give me the heads up if he hears when Toothsome starts taking them, but I have a feeling I'll hear here on the DIS first! :)

No, I think it's just a discount if you get the book. I thought it was more worth it just to get the subscription. (I've bought the book before but find these boards more useful than it.... just my opinion)

Yup, I'm hoping for that! But DH does not like riding alone... so it'll probably be just me, especially at universal!
