***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

ok...I was wondering....what you would choose...considering:
I used to go to wdw all of the time as a kid living in FL. It's been 20 years or so since i've been to wdw, so I'm considering myself a total newb....
My girls are 4 and 6...
we can MAYBE do ONE late night during our stay..I'm thinking our very last night.
WWYD, not taking into account $$$

A) MVMCP (keeping in mind I'm one of those people that would be paranoid all day about seeking out prime parade viewing and would not have dessert party tickets)
B) continue the search for an evening of Minnie's Holiday Dine and Fantasmic show.

Just figured I'd ask...being our first time at wdw..and with 2 little girls...which would be the preferred choice for your family?

This may be an obvious choice, but I didn't really know anything about these prior to this thread. So, just reading all of the great things about both, I'm not sure which is the better choice for first time visitors
I've most recently been to Disney with my grandkids and my granddaughter who is the brave little girl who will jump off the top of playground equipment was scared at Fantasmic at age 4 or 5. They have some very scary music and Ursula is rather scary looking. And poor Mickey is running away from the gigantic snake. But once we got through that part, she was fine.

The grandkids went to MNSSHP and they liked the parade, but we did not camp out and wait for it to come past us. There was lots of room to watch the parade near the Town Square. And the fact that the paradde makes that long u-shaped turn means that you can see a lot of it. The kids didn't care if they saw the fireworks or not.

Your kids are young and they will get tired. WDW is a lot of stimulation and kids get overwhelmed. I would be flexible and go with the flow.

I am hoping to get a PPO BOG on 12/15 (for 4). It isn't the end of the world if I don't, but we would sure love it. We have an 8 AM BBB on 12/11, so we will at least get in early one day!!
In stalking BOG for 4 on 12/15 as well but I'm hoping for dinner at 4:30/5:00. I will check for PPO breakfast on Touring Plans as this is the last ADR I need and were allowed 2 at a time on TP website. Will PM you if it pops up.

I would LOVE it if there was FP for Joy and Sadness! They are a must for us too. And Talking Mickey. The Beast we'll see at BOG hopefully and Peter Pan at Pirates and Pals and maybe in Fantasyland? FAB 5 and Pooh and friends are covered with ADRs. I need to fine-tune our character list, but I think that covers the biggies for us as we don't have any huge princess fans in our family. Oh--and Donald Duck in Mexico! We LOVE him! :-)

For any Beast fans, I understand that OCCASIONALLY one can meet the Beast after the Beauty and the Beast show in HS. **EXCEPTIONALLY** rare, but one never knows when Disney magic will strike! :flower1:
I agree! Trying to get the characters in with adrs :) BUT, I don't really know if there is a particular princess my girls would like to see...I'm debating on whether I should even ask them...kinda like "you get what you get and you don't get upset!" I know, I'm horrible!!! But, I haven't spent enough time figuring out exactly where the princess might be..except which ones you "may" see in restaurants....Maybe fp just one for ariel OR Belle's tales OR the rapunzel/tiana one? Have to put that on the "must research in the next few weeks or I'm toast" list. The main ones for us are Pooh and Pooh!

Oh yes, Enchanted Tales with Belle is fantastic! I've heard the wait times for the Frozen sisters are generally pretty good, too, so don't be afraid about those.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I seriously appreciate it!

good to know!! I have been hesitant to watch any youtube videos or rides or events, because I really want to be surprised myself...but, for Fantasmic I maybe should check it out and see what I think! Thanks!

yes! I forgot about those!! haha...how could I? those are a must ..for me :) there is no fp for them right? just waiting?

I really wish there was a fp for joy sadness and baymax. I know this sounds horrible, but the only ride I think I'm really interested in at Epcot is fea

Me too..I heard you either have to Rd joy and sadness or go at the end of the night

Thanks so much @Mintycake :) I have so many questions about everything! Can I just ask for now, in MK, are the princess out of adr options:
Belle's tales
Ariel's grotto
merida
the princess hall...with rapunzel/tiana and aurora/cinderella?
I would like to just do one or two of these...but, we'll see how the day goes I think. For the princess hall ones, do you get a fp for all 4 of those? or do you get a fp for each set?

http://www.disboards.com/threads/i-...lowishes-dessert-party.3542778/#post-56424263

Someone in this thread said they did the dessert party last year and the parade viewing had plenty of room. I believe Kenny the Pirate's review pretty much said that there's room too right? I'm guessing that you need to go early but not that early for the parade?? I'm guessing it also depends on how busy the party is.

Very exciting and reassuring parade review part but eek! about the dessert party part! Will be interesting to see if things evolve in any way after this first party. I shall stay tuned! THANKS for the link!! :-)

This is a good plan of attack! I have got to get my eggs all in one basket! I am really unprepared for fp day. Eek!
Ditto! Mine is October 3, and I am woefully unprepared! I need to do some more research and really think about what my plan of attack should be.

IMO, because it's Christmas time and a special event...I'd do MVMCP. If you go again, who knows if you'll go at the same time of year, KWIM? If you go to Disney again and it's during another season, Fantasmic will likely still be there, but the Christmas party won't be.

I think Disney is going the way of cramming as many people as possible into these parties. Same thing with star wars fireworks. I don't think I want to do more than one so star wars will win and will have to stake out a good parade spot.

OMG, day from hell today at work. Started off ok, then just got ridiculous. I finally left my desk around 2:30 and grabbed some hummus to inhale, but other than that I was glued to my desk in Crazyland.

There were at least 3 times where I was ready to quit. The only thing keeping me from doing it was my Disney trip! Pretty sure DH isn't going to let me go if I quit my job! :badpc:

Anyhow, hope I didn't miss anything big. Right now I'm zoned out on the couch perusing the boards without really comprehending anything. Someone clue me in if I miss anything, k? :crazy2:

Ahh this was me yesterday! Though at the end of the day I was at that point where I told my boss I should tell off his boss and submit my resignation letter  we all work just for Disney :rotfl:

Great tips! I probably should really keep this in mind for my two year old.. Though he seems to have no concept of fear yet.

@rasadkowski I like @areno79's take on that! But only if you don't have parade paranoia! ;) I'd hate for you to miss any magical moments of your last day because you are fretting over parade spots all day, you know? I just know you'll have the BEST time no matter which you choose. :cool1:

@Lisa F Was it you who had the idea of parade parties? That's what I want!! :thumbsup2 Yeah, 2 dessert parties might be a bit much...

@areno79 Amazing how the thought of our Disney trip can get us through certain things! Sorry about your rough day though!!

@Candycane83 and I were talking about holding a good spot in shifts (esp since she might have a later dinner that night at BoG, 6:20), I could take the early shift then when she's done I can get up and walk around and take the kiddo to the bathroom and grab a holiday snack. but more people would make it even better, smaller shifts :)
