1st Week of August.. Will crowds be crazy?

As it turns out, I may be going to a conference in San Diego August 1st and 2nd.. Would it be worth it to make a family vacation out of it and go to DL from the 3rd to the 5th or would it be nuts there.. Thanks!!

I find it is quieter in August than July, but still fairly busy due to summer school schedules. However, the 3rd thru the 5th is all weekdays, and it will likely be very hot, so the crowds will probably be fairly reasonable.

do you know anything about May, memorial day through thursday? no one is answering my post and i'm pretty worried about the crowds!

Wish I could help. I have never been in May. We almost exclusively go during the summer months when the kids are out of school. I try to avoid busy weekends, and the holiday will likely drive numbers up a bit. BUT, I have been on the 4th of July a few times and even then, the parks were completely reasonable until after 5-6 then it got packed.

yeah i believe there is someone who has been there that week on this board! thank you for your help though, it helps knowing it shouldn't be horrible since kids are still in school (i'm in college and we end this week), so that's a relief!

We visited DLR the same week in Aug. '07 (Tues. to Thurs.).

The parks were definitely busy, but we enjoyed our trip, and I wouldn't say that it was "nuts"; although the crowds were really huge for the first Fantasmic show at 9:00pm.

We even watched the Electrical Parade and fireworks in the same night. We watched the Electrical Parade in the Paradise Pier area and then we walked quickly, pushing 2 strollers, and we made it to the hub. We watched the fireworks from between the Partners Statue and the entrance to Tomorrowland; it was crowded, but not crazy crowded.
