Our last trip to Disney was taken the 2nd week in Dec. It was not crowded and we loved everything about our trip. I am afraid that this trip scheduled for the 1st week in Dec. may be a little crowded. It seems all the discounts that have been released have excluded that week. That leaves me feeling they are already booked for that week. I'm starting to get worried. What do you guys think about that week?

Thanks so much.

I took my wife and 3 children the exact same week in last year and it was great. We were at the rope drop every morning and we were literally gone until 10:30-11pm every night. We did a LOT of rides with no wait. Some of the higher demand rides may have had 30 minute waits on the high end. There were a few occasions that we used fast passes, but for the most part, you didn't really need them.

Weather was perfect(70-75 degrees all week with no rain). My wife and I are doing a trip without the kids the first week of May 2009, but when we go back with the kids, I'll pull the kids out of school for this very week. One of the really cool things is being able to see all of the Christmas stuff without the huge crowds.

I hadn't looked at the dates for this convention since I booked our trip back in the summer. I have read horror stories about being at Disney the same week as the cheerleaders and football players. Thank God we can be flexable with our schedule. I'm just unsure what would be better. There are just 3 days between our scheduled vacation and Thanksgiving, so we can't move it back. If we wait until the convention is over we'll be too close to Christmas. Looks like Dec. maybe out for us. Anyone know anything about the week before Thanksgiving? Thanks.

We went two years ago arriving on 12/9. It was great. All the resorts and parks were decorated and looked amazing, Osborne lights in DHS and EPCOT had all the Christmas around the World and the Candlelight Processional. Glad we used the ADR package because people were lining up two hours ahead with reservations. Crowds were not bad at all. Also did the MVMCP - alot of fun. Weather was good. It was a little chilly at night, especially the night of the MVMCP - 50 degrees so remember to pack jackets or sweatshirts.

We've been when Pop Warner kids were there before and really didn't have any trouble with it. I only remember seeing them 1 day - and that was at MGM (I refuse to change the name). And even at that, they were all congregated at the HS Musical pep rally. Not a bad experience at all.

As for the week before Thanksgiving, the crowds will be quite low, but you will miss out on all the holiday decorations.
