1st week after Thanksgiving - 1st Trip

Hello, DH, DD8 and I are traveling to Universal for our first trip December 3rd-4th (staying 4 nights though) and I am pricing out options staying off-site or on-site. The best benefit to me is the privilege to go to the front of the line if staying on-site. Paying for the tix upgrade if staying off-site doesn't $$ make sense. Anyway, my main question is, is this benefit worth it the 1st week in December? I couldn't gauge much from Undercover Tourist's crowd calendar, other than 1 park was red during this time, 2013.

It's always really nice even if the parks aren't as busy. Just one point, you don't go to the front of the line but get in line behind others who have Express. Of course you get to pass all of those people in the Despicable Me lines.

The Universal resorts are lovely and well worth the money. Just don't include the new budget resort in that because it will not offer free Express.

All of that said, we usually stay offsite and do quite well without Express. We hit those popular rides first thing and sometimes late in the day and see pretty much everything that we want to.

We are going the same time frame and while traditionally it is slow and lower crowds, we are still staying onsite.I am completely spoiled by the Universal resorts and the express pass.I wont ever stay offsite
