Well, I decided I might better plan spring break this year. I haven't been to WDW since I was 10. My dh has never been. 14 yr old daughter went with the marching band last year. 8 yr old daughter has never been. So spring break is April 14-18. We can't leave until April 13th. My daughter is performing in a musical on the 11th and 12th. But we can stay until April 19th. Is it too late to try to plan this trip????

Thanks!
Andrea

You won't know until you call Disney and see what they have available. Get a good book, Birnbaums Walt Disney World 2008 is a good one.

Well, I've contacted a friends travel agent and can find a place to stay. I guess I should have asked do I have time to plan everything?

Thanks!
Andrea

As of yesterday, some dates toward mid/end April were fully booked. Call now! Hopefully someone cancelled and you'll get an early morning reservation!

Good Luck!

A good friend just planned a trip for the first full week of April this past weekend. She had gotten several ADR's. Its never too late.

It's never too late! There are always cancellations, just check as often as possible. Make an itinerary for the days you will be there, and call for ADR as soon as you can! You can check back every day for the ones you want, too! Good luck have a magical trip!

I made my reservations for the first of April yesterday.... If I found out I could go tomorrow, it still wouldn't be too late! It's never too late to live the dream!!!

I'm not a big planner so I would go tomorrow and have a ball.

Get a room - go!
Make dinner reservations or just wing it - go!!
Do you really have to have a plan - go!!!
Hop on the bus Gus...pick a park and go have fun!!!!

Our first family trip to Disney last August was booked through Expedia last minute; like three weeks before hand! I was so excited and sorta worried at the same time! I read this board and we purchased the Unofficial Guide to Disney book; you could go to a bookstore or Library and pick which guidebook appeals to you most and read as much as you can. This helped me a lot to know how to navigate all the parks, as I had not been since I was a kid in the 70's and it has changed and grown so much! We also did manage to get a few dining reservations to the places we actually really wanted. It is never to late! And as someone here wrote, just pack up and go! That was really our motto, since it was kinda last minute...Just enjoy it and don't pressure yourself to try to see everything...there was no way we could do it all. We just went and saw what we could and had the time of our lives! Have a fantastic trip!:goodvibes

You have a place to stay. I'm assuming you have a way to get there. What else do you need?

If you are asking if you have enough time to plan an itinerary, you aren't there yet so yes, you have plenty of time. There's only one time when you can't plan for a Disney World trip. When it's over.

You should be fine. You might have some trouble if you are going to plan sit down meals, but if you go with the flow you will be okay. It WILL be crowded and gets hot in the afternoon. Expect rain etc... I just bought Passporter and it has helped me plan EVERY aspect of my vacation and Tour guide Mike It was very worth the money. Alot has changed sine you have been there I am sure and this board will help you everyone here is great and friendly and we all have one same interest and can be a little obsessed ;) but a ton of fun. If you have any questions you can private message me. Have a great time !

Will you be upset if you don't get your first choice for dining options? That might be an issue you face with planning this close to the trip. If you can find room at the resort you want, then go for it!

I reccomend getting the Passporter. It's a great guidebook.

Wow! Everyone here is so nice. Thank you all for your comments. Still don't have a room booked because dh has been out of town but he comes in tonight and maybe we can talk. When you say Disney he sees dollar signs so just getting him to agree to go is huge. :)

Thanks again and get ready for more questions!!!

I planned our stay last year in April the week before we left! Don`t forget to visit the waterparks....the kids will love them!:thumbsup2

The last time we went to Disney was in January of 2006... we called on Wednesday January 4th and made reservations to stay @ ASMo from the 8th - 14th and we had an absolutely awesome time.
We just called and made our reservations last week for April 26th thru May 5th @ POR and we can hardly wait!
With the free park hopper & water parks upgrade that's being offered, NOW is the perfect time to plan a Disney vacation and save $ too! :wizard:

Well...change of plans.

My dh and I discussed it tonight. We have decided that we just don't have the time to plan the kind of trip that we want. Also, we can't get into the resort that we would like. So we have decided to skip Disney this year. I think we will try to plan a trip for next spring instead.

My dad has a timeshare at Hilton Grand that we can use for free. I think we will try to use it this year and visit Universal and Sea World. Any great place to find great ideas for those?

Thanks again for all of your help and I'll still be visiting to start planning for next year!

Andrea
