hi! I am planning a trip to Orlando in Feb. and and have never been to Universal. My kids are 8 and 9 and are not into roller coasters. I think they would love Universal Studios. We will be spending most of vacation at Disney but would love to try Universal at the beginning. How many days should we allow? Also, is staying at an offical hotel where you get to be in the special line at the parks, worth it during this time of the year? We will be staying at PO French Quarter most of the trip. How much would a cap ride for 2 adults and 2 kids be from POFQ to Universal Studios. I am trying to figure out if it would be better to stay at Disney and just take a cap to Universal Studios. How cheap can I get a room in Feb. for the offical hotels at Universal? Is special line privledges really needed the 2nd week in Feb? Thanks for your help! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :Pinkbounc

Most of the time, people will suggest staying onsite for the FOTL, but in February, crowds are very light. It's the best time of the year to visit.

I would suggest renting the car and learning your way around. That way, you can visit grocery stores, and drive back and forth between the parks. Two days at USF/IOA will be enough. Some like a 3rd morning to go back and do favorites.

Even if you are not going to IOA I would still recommend two days at Universal Studios. The last time I was there we only went one day to Universal Studios and even though the lines were pretty short we didn't get to do everything in that one day. There are some shows we had to miss because we were in line for the attractions. I personally would recommend staying at a Universal Hotel for one night because then since you don't have to wait in line for anything you could probably do everything in one day. Either way I'm sure you'll have a great time...it's a fun park :)
