1st trip to DL from a WDW veteran

hi
we will be making our 1st trip to DL on 8-5 thru 8-11.
would like to know crowd levels this time of year and tips
Also is a rental car worth it as we will be flying into LAX
and have a 4 yr old with us.

If you get a rental car it should only be for transport from the airport. I would recommend not driving to DLR each day as this wastes a lot of time and, unless you stay far away, is unnecessary. See link below on "Hidden Time Losses".

I have been in early August the last two summers. Weekdays will be crowded but manageable. Weekends including Friday night will be more crowded and, well, less manageable. But still doable with a good plan.

Trey, I love your hidden time losses thread. As an AP holder I go so often that I sometimes forget that people don't automatically know some of this stuff. I stay at a local "Good Neighbor" hotel at least 4 times a year and I always use the resort transit system. Parking is not bad but it is a HUGE time waster and I just don't like it.
