What's this? Another update in the same week!!??!

I'm having Disney Withdrawals so bad!! I know we'll probably do something Disney next year for Vacation, but I don't have anything definitive yet and it's making me CRAZY!!!!

DVC called yesterday because I had ordered a DVD and information packet (I just want to watch...I'm not really like 100% interested) and when I got off the phone with them, Jason asked who I was talking to. I told him that it was Disney World and that I had just planned our next vacation!! He about died!! It was funny!! It's not that he doesn't want another trip...we just don't know when his vacation time will be. BUT, he gets TWO weeks of vacation next year so we'll have to figure out something really fun to do!!!

It would be so cool if we went during the same time. We could have a frozen latte on main street together hehehe

Hi Karen, great updates as always! It was cool how you could see the mountains in the background of the pictures you took at the top of the ferris wheel. You don't see that in Florida! That steak looked YUMMO.

I'm back from Camp! I came home FULLY exhausted and I think I slept through all of Friday afternoon and most of Saturday! In between sleeping, I washed and unpacked my clothes....now I'm finally done! Yay! Thanks for all of the well wishes!!

That Sun Wheel on the moving cars totally freaks me out. I am never scared on rides but I rode this when I went with my family back in 2001 & I was scared to death when that thing would swing. I call it the Wheel of Death...but my husband says I have to ride it in December & I am so NOT looking forward to it. I just want to trick him somehow & get on the stationary cars because the view is great & I don't feel like I am going to die.

That Pixar Parade looks so cute. Can't wait to see that.

I have that outfit that you wore to Steakhouse 55. Got it before our cruise last year. I am so excited to read that you went here & that the food was so good. I really want to go here because I had seen on another trip report all the cool old pictures of Walt. I think I have decided based on your report to do dinner here instead of Napa Rose.

That Sun Wheel thing scared me, too! Everytime we would move backwards, I would freak out!! Good lucking in getting your DH on the Stationary side!! Sounds a lot safer to me! The Pixar Parade was adorable! Just don't get too close because you'll get wet! Awww yay we have the same outfit! Too cool!! I wore it for our Wishes cruise in December! I've had it forever and just never wore it to anything. Now that'll be my special Disney outfit! Steakhouse 55 was AMAZING! I'd so eat there again in a heartbeat!!!! It's really good...don't know if it beats Napa Rose or not, but it's REALLY good! I'd chose it over Napa Rose but to me with Napa Rose, you have the classy atmosphere and Steakhouse 55 is just kind of dark....still nice but not as classe IMO! It's really really really really really good!!!!!! Wish I could cook a steak like that! Seriously, best steak I ever had! Good luck deciding!!

Awesome update Karen.... I would love to go on the ferris wheel on Paradise pier.... it looks so cool!

Thank you! The Ferris Wheel was a lot of fun! Jason was the only guy in our compartment and every time we'd start to move, the two girls across from us would give us huge eyes and almost scream! That's how I felt, too! It's fun but scary, too!!

I will certainly put river belle terrace on my to-do list for october.it looked so pretty in there..and that pancake was super cute!

The "Spinning Orange of Death" looks pretty freaky - as does that other ride in the pic above it (giant swing?). I had no idea those were at DCA. The only ride I've ever really thought about there was CS.

Your food pics look really yummy! I'm a big fan of chili cheese dogs - healthy, I know! And Steakhouse 55 looks really good too! You're right, 30 something dollars for that is a really good deal, especially on Disney property!

That spinning thing...gosh yes I didn't go near it EVER! SCARY!!! All of those rides are in the Paradise Pier section of DCA! It's a cute little area but I'm not into all of the carnival ridse like that. They scare me too much!!

The food was great! I got a tip about the hot dog stand from another California friend...she said it was GOOD and I needed to try it out so we did!! I'm glad we did, too! Thanks for reading along!

Awesome update Karen!!! Those hot dogs look really yummy, I am so mad at myself now because I have walked past that place so many times and never stopped, oh well, hopefully next time, not sure when that will be but it will be something to look forward to. Your drawings are great, love them. The Pixar Play parade was so cute, I loved it, so many bright colors. Steakhouse 55 looks amazing, I have never ate there either but that is for sure on my list next time too, your meals look amazing. Sorry to hear you all missed the fireworks, hopefully you catch them before your trip is over. As always, can't wait to read and see more, your trip report and photos are awesome.

Thanks for all the great pictures...cool that they edited out the cigs..I quit smoking about 25 years ago. after smoking while in the military (it was the only way we got a breack so to go outside and get some sunshine.)

Thanks so much for asking!! Camp was GREAT! We had such a good time. A little drama but nothing major! Got NO sleep, but did get a nap every afternoon! It was a TON of fun and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Friday, April 11, 2008 - Toon Town Morning Madness - Almost last day!! Sad times!!

We woke up bright and early for TOON TOWN MORNING MADNESS! I was excited about seeing Toon Town without the millions of people everywhere!

Before we could leave though, I had to make sure that something for Mousekeeping was left on the pillow!!

We got to the park and booked it straight for Toon Town!

I had to get a picture of the Disney Family Seal on the Castle, first!! Too cool!

There was a small line to get into Toon Town, but they only let you in if you had one of these vouchers...

From the Disney Travel Company!

We were given a Morning Madness map/guideline when we entered. It showed where the morning festivities would be held. I totally didn't pay attention to this AT ALL and didn't realize that there were opening ceremonies, so Jason and I ran around like big dorks wondering where all of the people were at!

We walked over to Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin and I told Jason that I'd ONLY ride it if he promised not to make me sick!!

He agreed and we decided to ride!

The things to look at in line cracked me up!!

We got out of the ride and took a few more pictures...

....then we finally heard the music for the opening ceremonies and Mickey's Voice so I panicked because I thought we were missing something big!!

We ran over as fast as we could and stood in the back. I still was surprised at the lack of people in Toon Town!

After the opening ceremonies were finished, we walked around and took a bunch of pictures in Toon Town!

Finally got a decent one without a MILLION people around!!

Let me know what you think of Batman. DH and I watched it last Saturday. Christian Bale is my favorite actor, though his Batman voice kinda freaks me out. Too bad he was arrested today...

Glad you had a great time at camp. I didn't realize you were an oncology nurse. I did pediatric onc for 10 years, before my heart was broken one too many times & I decided I needed a break. I have been away from it for almost 3 years & I am really missing it now. Might be time to go back.

Welcome Back Karen!!! Great update!!! I have happy tears in my eyes, it brings back so many great times from my trip in March, I just love DL's ToonTown so much, it is so full of life and bright colors. I wish that I would of had the chance to do MTTMM, but we didn't but it seems like that is the best way to get pictures in TT without a lot of people, you and Jason got some great shots and it looks like you had a lot of fun. As always, awesome update and I sure can't wait to read and see more.

Haha I'm glad our crazy pictures make you laugh! We just love to have fun and laugh at each other!!! Roger Rabbit does spin, yes ... it's not too bad though and like the teacups, it has a "wheel" inside the vehicle that you can spin and it'll make your car spin a lot!

LOVED Batman!! Great movie!!! I didn't hear that he was arrested today! That's too bad! What ashame! I have a hard time picturing him as Batman, though....I still see him as young sweet Laurie on Little Women!!

Thank you!! Oh Toon Town is SO COOL!!! Morning Madness lets only those who have the vouchers from the Disney Travel Company in 1 hour before everyone else is allowed in. So say the park opens at 8 a.m., then Toon Town will open at 9 a.m. for the general public and 8 a.m. for morning madness. It's only on certain mornings, though! Thanks again!!

WOW pedi oncology?! No way.......I dunno how you did that for 10 years! Working on the Oncology floor for a year and a half did me in! Now I'm in outpatient Oncology.....Radiation Oncology to be exact! No holding the hands of those who are dying on me now! It's GREAT!!! What do you do now? I can imagine how you would miss it! Especially after you worked it for so long!

When you book a package through the Disney Travel Company, you are sent a package in the mail with vouchers in them. Toon Town Morning Madness vouchers are some that you receive! It was GREAT because no one was around as compared to the previous time that we visited TT!!!
