1st Trip Report, I just can't stop myself! (April 17th - April 25th) POP

Where did I leave off, oh yes to kill or not to kill that is the question??? On the bus ride home my DN called her mom and vented about DD. DD sat with her head down. About halfway through the ride I decided to let her know we were still going to try to get to Magic Kingdom, I just had to go to the front desk and get a new KTTW for her. But she now is no longer responsible for her KTTW card or fast passes, that is now my responsibility. She looked at me with her puppy dog eyes and said ok mommy.

So we arrive at POP and I head to the front desk. Thankfully there was only 1 person in front of me. By now it was 9:00, and if you recall our fast pass tickets were to start at 9:20. And the park was open till midnight. We should be good. I got up to the counter and all is good, within in seconds I had a new KTTW for DD and we were back to the bus stop. Within minutes a bus came and we were on our way to MK.

There are not many pics from this night, for obvious reasons we were on a mission, pictures still not priority. We get off the bus and the light boat parade was going. I did try to get a picture, but my camera did not agree with me. So in the gates we go, and we just missed spectromagic, which means, we were fighting the crowd! Not a good sign. By now the night had gotten quite chilly, and we were still in our daytime clothes. Oh well we suffer to ride Space Mountain right! It is worth it. We finally fight our way through the crowd and make it to Space Mountain…. HALLELUJAH it’s like we were the only ones in the park everyone else just faded away! The reality struck and I almost got killed by a stroller. So, we head into line with our fast passes, luckily the fast pass line wasn’t bad and we got to ride on the left side. I have never ridden on the left side. So first time for DN and first time on the left side for me and DD. It was everything I remembered and totally worth the frustration. While in line for SM we had received some cryptic messages from Lori. She was still have the All Star Sports with Lisa/Chad and family. “They are going to kill eachother, get me out of here” “The kids are off the wall” “Chad’s asleep with a beer in his hand” So after Space Mountain what do we do? Do we head back to All Star Sports? Any good friend would.

Well I did what every good person would do. We noticed the buzz line had no wait so, off we went!

In my defense Wishes was going on, so we would have had to fight a huge crowd.

So then we headed back to the buses, going through the stores at Main Street. We waited for the All Star Sports bus, it came shortly after and we were off. I believe this bus driver took the longest way possible to the hotel, and we were standing room only, I thought I was going to pass out standing up. But we did make it there safely. When we arrived at All Star Sports Lori was waiting for us, she then drove us back to POP and to bed we went... I am thinking it was close to 11:30 by this time. This was a great first day! Sorry it took so long for my update. I will try to get better at this!

Yay!!! I found you! I don't know why I didn't clue into your link... anyway, good start! I'm so glad your surprise hang-man worked, was she super surprised? Her photo looked that way. And you made it to SM before it closed, good job! You had a serious mission and you did it!

Yes she was so excited! I am going out of town this weekend for my DD dance competition, but will be updating on sunday with more.. Hopefullly!

Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. Had a Dance Competition this past weekend so I have been swamped. Things are back to normal. I will try to get a small update in today at work, if not then tonight!

Disney Day 2 : Magic Kingdom, Dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe

So my DN sets her alarm from 6:15am so she has enough time to get ready in the morning so I don't get annoyed when I am ready to go. We also set a wake up call for 7:15am, we didn't actually get it until 7:24am. I was up by 7 taking a shower and my DD refused to get out of bed till the Wake up call came. Here are the girls getting ready in the morning

Lori also spent the night with us. We headed down to breakfast. This is my first morning we decided to pay OOP for breakfast and save our counter service and snack for the park. I had French toast, DD had chocolate chip pancakes, and DD had eggs and french toast, we also picked up our mugs for the week. Lori had a danish I think. BTW no one told me they took the Coke float machines out.. I was looking for them all week, until I finally asked someone. Sorry no pics of food. After breakfast we head to front desk so Lori could get a 1 day pass to Magic Kingdom. Then off to the buses

We arrived at MK by 9:15 I believe. We then decided to head toward Adventure Land, DD really wanted to ride Splash Mountain. As we go over the bridge we see our first character. We get to try out the picture frame Matte idea! DN left hers at the hotel, but DD remembered hers.

Rafiki was a great first signature and my DD had never gotten him before! We did have a little girl with her family ahead of us and she was petrified of Rafiki so much that she cuddled into my DN for safety while the rest of her family got their picture taken, it was quite funny.

We headed towards Splash Mountain and made a pit stop and rode Pirates of the Caribbean for our first ride! This never disappoints!

Before we got to the adventureland bridge we noticed our first photopass person and had some pics taken with her.

We then headed towards Splash Mountain to grab some fast passes and noticed POC on the way so we rode that first. After POC we continued our journey to Splash Mountain and who was outside taking pics.. Goofy, can’t pass that up.

Then we headed to SM and a decision was made grab FP and ride it. So off we went for a 10 minute wait. Here are some pics of Lori and the girls.

After Splash Mountain we decided to tackle Thunder Mountain. The line was long but we entertained ourselves. Lori decided to blow bubbles with her gum. She was going for the largest bubble. Yes I know quite entertaining. So after TM we headed to Tom Sawyer Island with an idea we would find the paint brushes unfortunately on our way over the driver already had all 3 from the last group of people. So we decided to test out my niece’s fear of bridges. It took her a good 5 minutes to cross the bridge that connects the island with the fort on it. It didn’t help that my DD kept waiting for DN to start across then run and jump on it. Eventually she did make it, because she chose to sprint off the bridge. The girls then explored the fort, and DN helped a little lost girl find her parents. We headed back over the bridge, which DN did much faster this time. So we explored and I found the barrel bridge. OK I know there I no need to actually cross this bridge, but why tell DN about this. So off we went across the barrel bridge! I did get pics this time.

So after that traumatic experience we headed back across to the mainland. We then decided we were hungry so the girls got some snacks in libertly square and off we went to one of my favorites Haunted Mansion. My DD is deathly afraid of this ride, and I have no clue why, but I did force her on it. I know I am a horrible mother, but I believe in facing your fears head on. Case in point my niece and bridges! My DD survived HM and so we decided to wander and saw the Mickey’s Philharmagic was letting in. So off we went. Here are some pics with the glasses on.

Then we talked to Lisa and her family and found out they were in Frontier land and we wanted to use our fastpasses for SM before we headed to the other side of the park. So we met up with them at Aladdin’s Carpet ride and chit chatted for a little while. Unfortunately they move a little too leisurely for me, so we then headed by ourselves again and decided to get FP for Jungle Cruise. After we achieved FP we headed over towards SM, but what happens when you do that, that is right POC again. Although Jack Sparrow almost ran us over when he was heading for the Pirate Tutorial, we decided to pass on watching and head right on. After that we headed towards SM and a parade was about to start so we grabbed some horrible food at Pecos Bills and ate. Next update Parade and more MK.

Hey Kimiza! I am finally able to post! Not sure why, might have been my computer.
Anyway, love the photopass pictures! I drove my family crazy getting photopass pictures!
I'm glad DD survived HM, our DS wouldn't have anything to do with it! He was 11 when we were last there so I am hoping that by the time we go again he'll decide to get over the spook factor, he's the same with ToT.
Tom Sawyer Island is pretty fun to go to. We tried for the paint brushes but there were some teenage guys that had the system down and got them first. Glad your DN did the bridges!

OK so looking at my pics it looks like we did Splash Mountain for a 2nd time and then headed to get food at Pecos Bills. We did get some photopass pics before the parade started, and the photopass person was not really in a good mood at all.

Then we watched the parade. (I gave up on sizing my pictures.. sorry, it takes too long!)

This picture was taken for my mom, we call her Ursula. Really funny story on this one, about 12 years ago I was dating this guy Matt, and he got drunk one night at a Christmas party for the company my mom and I worked for and he told my mom she reminds him of Ursula from the little mermaid! LOL Ok he is out of the picture, but I haven’t let my mom forget it! I even got her an Ursula statue for her garden!

After the parade we headed to Jungle Cruise with our FP’s. I haven’t been on this for a couple of trips. I was hoping we were going to get a really good guide. He was so so. I have definitely had livelier ones.

After Jungle Cruise we headed towards tomorrowland. We decided to stop and see Stitch, I always like this ride. Of course I remember when to hold my breath, and I so enjoy the people around me when they smell that burp!!! So funny. After that we decided to do the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. I love this show, I texted a joke and headed in. We sat in pretty good seats right in the middle. I am happy to say my joke did get used… what was the joke? How do you make a tissue dance, put a little boogie in it. I know queer, but it was the shortest one I could text. Then all of the sudden, a princess was spotted in the audience, and the spotlight goes on, and I look to my left, and MY Princess was chosen. My DD did very well. And the Monster was so excited to meet a princess of NY. She was on cloud nine the rest of the day! After the show we headed to what should have been our first ride of the day, carousel of progress. Here is some proof of an unhappy DN going to COP.

LOL not only did I make her go on it, but the ride broke down. I was dying, I am not sure she forgave me for that. So after the theater got moving we headed towards the exit, because we had dinner reservations for Whispering Canyon and my BF had to start heading back home. We made one more stop.. Buzz lightyear, I was determined to kick butt, and what happens? My BF beats me, what is up with that?????

We then headed up to the lobby. All I can say about this hotel is it is absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed every little detail I saw. I would love to save my money and stay here on one of our next trips. My DD and I went on a cross country trip a few years ago and actually had the opportunity to go to Yellowstone and see Old Faithful and all the hot springs, so to see this hotel’s lobby brought back so many memories it was great.

Our buzzer went off and away we go. I ready a few reviews about this restaurant and was looking forward to all the fun things that happen at this restaurant. We get seated and we have smoking Sam as our waiter. What a great personality he had. The horse heads got brought out and I forced my DD to participate, she felt too old, but did it anyway. Then our meals came, I got ribs, DD got ribs, and DN got steak, we also had fries which required ketchup. My DD was so excited to see all the ketchups come to our table! It was great fun. We also got Milkshakes with dinner. So yummy! My DN had a little crush on Smokin Sam.. so I had to get a picture!

Did you think a 14 year old could smile so big!!!

Hey I was glad to see an update from you! It looked like you guys had a great time in MK (except CoP!)
Your dinner was a success with all of the attention from Smokin Sam so your DN had to be happy with your choice!
I love the last group of Photopass pictures you got. The black and white one at the castle is a good one. Have you framed any yet?

I am horrible, i haven't printed any yet... I have a ton that I want to print though. My DN bought me a picture frame as a thank you, and it sits empty on my shelf. LOL I definitely need to print both the photopass and my pics. I am hoping to order them next month. But that is what I said last month. I am forever putting things off. Probably why I am still on day 1 of the trip report. LOL

Hi guys,

Sorry i haven't posted in a while, I do plan on finishing my Trip report I promise. Things have been rough for a while, my mom was diagnosed in 2006 with pancreatic cancer, and through some tough times she was able to have surgery after a year of treatment to remove the tumor in 2007. We recently got results that the tumor has come back. So the Summer is going to be a long one, we have more family stuff going on too, so i will update again as soon as I get a chance to breath.
