We just got back from our first trip in 7 years and I'm SO happy to report it's still just as magical there as ever!!

I guess I was a little worried being on this board and hearing so many people complain about rude people down there and less than stellar CMs and perhaps hearing a little too much info that I was afraid in the 7 years since I had been there some stuff had happened (plus the economy/cut backs) and it wouldn't be as great but it was still amazing and I can't wait to go back in 7 months!!

I guess sometimes too much info can be a bad thing :rotfl:

I have to say I met some wonderful people, if people saw me and DH get on the bus with the boys we were always offered a seat (even though it wasn't expected) but thankfully we never had to accept since we travelled with my in laws who were usually already seated and we just sat them with them and DH and I stood. I even had people in line in the bathrooms allow me to go in front of them when they heard my 3 year old tell me again (and again and again) that he had to go potty (you knew those were people who were moms of children who waited until the last minute to tell them they had to go).

Can't wait to do it all over again!

it's great to hear there are some kind people still visiting wdw! glad you had a good trip! welcome home! :)

That is great to hear. We've been several times the past several years and we have seen both. We've seen a few rude people but I have to say, we've seen more than that many very, very nice people as well. Disney has a way of bringing out the magic. I'm glad you had a great time and that you will be able to go again so soon. That is wonderful!

I am SO glad to see this!!!!! I am even more pleased that you had such a good trip!

The more I read here, the more afraid I am that our trip in May is going to stink.

Pushy parade viewers, people who plow you over to catch a tram, line cutters, strollers battering rams, an endless sea of ECV's, disgruntled CM's, and busses that resemble sardine cans.

I guess I don't need to pack the brass knuckles while channeling a Mr. T persona to make it through!

This is what I was afraid of too, maybe I just expected the worst :confused3 but people weren't nearly as bad as I thought. I loved seeing the older kids talking to my 2 and 3 year olds on the bus asking them who their favorite character was and if this was their first trip and maybe it was just our attitudes being returned but everyone was pretty pleasant to us :cool1:

Enjoy your trip in may! We won't be far behind you guys!

I honestly think that the "good" people outnumber the "bad" people by far. It's just that the "bad" people are so outrageously bad that they really stand out!

I still recall a trip back in 2004 (I think?!) when an exceptionally nasty woman was mad that we were about to go in front of her at Kilimanjaro Safari because we had done fast pass and she had'nt. She yelled and screamed at the poor CM and eventually physically shoved the poor girl out of her way and stormed ahead to get on the ride. I was shocked and horrified - still am to be honest. That moment still stands out in my mind - and yet I'm sure there were so many nice people we ran into that I couldn't recall at this point. It's a shame that the ugly stays with me for longer but there you have it. :confused3

The trips are what you make of it.

DH is a horrible crowd person and we went the week before Easter this year... (not one of my brighter ideas...) I kept reminding him that it was going to be nuts and he did great. While there were a few people that got even under my skin, we just brushed it off and had a great time.

I'm not sure if the change in attitude is entitlement (I paid xxx for this trip and you should kiss my rear) or people expect the Magic to be thrust upon them once they cross the doors, but I know those people exist (my mother and cousin are a few of those).

It is what you make it to be. Disney supplies the resource, we have to absorb the Magic.

We'll be heading back in May for the first time since 2005 and I feel so much better now. I was getting pretty concerned too. It's great to hear that someone who hadn't been in a while had a great trip this year! Thanks for posting that!
