1st Trip as Mommy & Daddy Nov 2011 TR- Complete!

I wouldn't stress yourself out too much. It took DS awhile to catch on to the whole walking thing, but once he did, he got better at it really quickly and now he is running & getting into everything!! Don't rush him too much, you don't know what ya got till it's gone!! Now he is all over the place!!

My aunt is a very outspoken person, and her comment on that picture from in front of the car was, "You forgot to get those other kids out of the car." :lmao: I guess I should have taken her with me on the trip! I avoid confrontation. People are just so oblivious. :confused3

hahaha so true so true. I'm just glad Alex isn't getting frustrated with it like he did with crawling. OMG that was a nightmare! :headache:

hahaha I don't like confrontation with people I know but with strangers I speak my mind. Yeah, that's probably backwards  But yeah, most people are totally oblivious

Great and LONG update girl! Love the pictures of Paxton with Donald. Too bad about the Grand Fiesta ride. Those poor 20 year olds  At least they were laughing though instead of complaining.

What a great idea with the vinyl! I think I may have to borrow it :goodvibes

And omg that cup cake looks divine! I may have to visit that bakery myself while we're there.

I'm now glad our first day is DHS so we can cut it short if need be and ease Alex into the park excitement.

Awww.. What a cute idea for that Vinylmation! Love it! Are we going to find out what you do with the front?

The Gran Fiesta Tour sounds like it was so much fun! He looks like his happy little self again after the break though!

Wow. Busy day. I'm amazed how much you did with DS in tow.

FYI The Norway Kidcot is just inside the store (Something Puffin) just past all the perfumey stuff but before the giant troll statue. I think I could find them all, but mostly they put them way in the back (I think to get you to shop more.) :lmao:

LOL I was laughing at my desk thinking about the "daycare" on the gran fiesta ride. That's hilarious - so glad that everyone was in great spirits though, even the 20-somethings. That definitely helped make for a funny experience instead of a miserable one.

Love the vinylmation idea - can't wait to see the front!

Have a very merry christmas with your little man! I bet it's going to be an awesome one this year!

I agree that it is tough to find things for toddlers to do at DHS. Everett has been on TGMR, but he was less than impressed, and I even start to nod off during the backstage tour, so that is a no-go. They need more kid friendly rides!

Too funny about the Grand Fiesta boat ride! I think its hilarious when DS starts crying just because some other kid nearby is crying. Its like some sort of baby alert system!

I think your idea of getting the CM to write happy birthday in their native languages is genius! What a cool present for your DS!

I know I've said it many times, but Hollywood Studios needs more family friendly things to do. The park creates the Toy Story monster because there's just nothing else to do if you have small children with you. That said, I could personally just spend all day on Sunset Boulevard.:lmao:

We walked up to Gran Fiesta one afternoon and there were people lined up by the entrance like that. I couldn't believe my eyes. Then I realized it was just a group of people talking to the CM by the entrance, and we just walked around them and got on our own boat. :rotfl2:

I love the idea of the birthday vinylmation. :thumbsup2

Great pictures of EPCOT. I love spending evenings walking around the World Showcase.

Merry Christmas!

I can't wait to find out what you were saving the front of DS' vinyl!

Loved your family pic with Donald! One of my favs

Yep, Donald is a favorite in this house as well. I loved that we had FINALLY gotten DS to hold up his index finger and show Donald "#1"! We had tried so hard to get him to do it for Donald in AK but he wouldn't. :goodvibes

What an awesome idea about the birthday Vinylmation!! I will have to do that for my sons' birthdays when we go this summer! One will be turning 10 and one will be turning 6. Thanks for the idea!!! :thumbsup2

It was a lot of fun to collect all of the Happy Birthdays, so I can imagine your kids will love it, especially if they get to pick which languages they want or try to collect them all!

hahaha so true so true. I'm just glad Alex isn't getting frustrated with it like he did with crawling. OMG that was a nightmare! :headache:

The long update was due to DS being away at Nonni & Poppi's house for a few days! :thumbsup2 I could work on them as long as I wanted instead of being restricted just to naptime.

Borrow away on the Vinyl idea. We had come up with the idea for the front of the Vinyl (which will be in the next update) on a previous trip, but never did it. The idea for the Happy Birthdays came from the Vinylmation boards DH is on. :goodvibes

Yes, we will start on the front in the next update! :thumbsup2

Our Gran Fiesta Tour was one of those experiences you have to laugh at because it was so ridiculous. All those babies crying and wanting off the boat at the same time! It was just so funny and all of us couldn't help but crack up. :rotfl:

Wow.

We found that to be true with all of the other Kidcot stations!! The one in Mexico, which was our first one, is so front and center I guess I expected them all to be! But every one of them required you to walk to the farthest corner of the store to be found (and past every display!). Once we got the hang of it, we probably could have tracked down the Norway station, but we were beat at that point and not that worried about it. Now at least we know where they are so when DS is interested in that stuff we won't have to deal with many meltdowns trying to locate the station.

LOL I was laughing at my desk thinking about the "daycare" on the gran fiesta ride. That's hilarious - so glad that everyone was in great spirits though, even the 20-somethings. That definitely helped make for a funny experience instead of a miserable one.

The Gran Fiesta Daycare was definitely one of the funniest moments of our trip! :lmao:

We had a great Christmas, I hope y'all did too & your day was filled with lots of baby kicks!!

I agree that it is tough to find things for toddlers to do at DHS. Everett has been on TGMR, but he was less than impressed, and I even start to nod off during the backstage tour, so that is a no-go. They need more kid friendly rides!

Yeah, DHS was one of our favorite parks pre-Paxton, but we felt bad because he was just riding around the whole time in the stroller and not able to do much. I think we will not plan so much time for there next time, at least until we feel like he's able to sit through some of the shows without going crazy.

Baby alert system, that's the perfect description! I wonder if they were telling each other something, like when all the dogs start barking messages to each other in 101 Dalmatians.

I know I've said it many times, but Hollywood Studios needs more family friendly things to do. The park creates the Toy Story monster because there's just nothing else to do if you have small children with you. That said, I could personally just spend all day on Sunset Boulevard.:lmao:

Great pictures of EPCOT. I love spending evenings walking around the World Showcase.

Merry Christmas!

I have a feeling DH & I will spend a lot of time there on our parents only trip coming up, just so we can enjoy Sunset Blvd as much as we want, and do the animation classes we love. But we definitely won't plan on spending much time there next time we take DS, at least until he can sit through the shows or they get more kid friendly attractions.

Oh, how great would it have been for us had that been the case on our Gran Fiesta Tour! I have literally NEVER seen a line for that ride in all my times to WDW! We have always walked right down to the loading platform and onto a boat. I couldn't believe it had an actual line with several switchbacks being used!! Just goes to show how the crowds were a lot heavier than we had expected.

We spent more time exploring some of the WS pavilions as we looked for Kidcot stations. It's something I have always wanted to do but never taken the time for. We always just kind of walked around, sticking close to the lagoon and never really going into the pavilions. I think DH was impressed because as we were walking through Japan, he made the comment that he didn't know they had "all of this stuff back here." Hopefully we can spend even more time checking them out on our next trip.

* * * *

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had let DS go to my parents house for a few days since my mom was off of work for the holidays, so he was gone from Wednesday afternoon until Saturday when my parents and sister came over to spend Christmas Eve at our house. We opened presents & had some good food while DS played with all of his new toys. We had bought Mickey photo frames for each set of grandparents while we were in WDW and put a picture of DS & Sorcerer Mickey in it, which they loved!

Lots of Disney stuff to go around this year! DH surprised me with the Mickey Silhouette D&B shoulder bag!!

a77f7c7d.jpg

I was so surprised & very excited!! Although, it's a LOT bigger than my old purse, so it's a little empty at the moment, but I'm sure it won't take me long to fill it up! He also got me the Celebrations magazine hardcover holiday edition. I had gotten him a Saints sweatshirt, some tools he wanted, and some other Vinyls (non-Disney) that he had had his eye on for awhile.

DS's big gift from Santa was a playset for the backyard! Unfortunately, Christmas morning was rainy and yucky, so he hasn't had a chance to play on it yet. I'm hoping for some nicer weather tomorrow to take him out to swing and go down the slide. He also got TONS of toys & clothes, both from us and all of our family. Plus, my mom has a bunch of stuff for him that was given by the family members we didn't get a chance to see on Christmas! Spoiled? Of course not!!

Anyway, I'm hoping to keep the momentum on this TR going...Our February trip will be here before I know it and I don't know how I will keep up with 2 TR's at once!! :scared1: I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I know we did, and I'm so blessed!

DAY 5: Tuesday November 8th

For the first time on our trip, we were able to wake up without setting an alarm! That didn't mean we got to sleep in, unless you consider "sleeping in" to be 7:30 am. It is about 15 to 20 minutes later than when DS normally wakes up at home, so I guess that counts for something! Haha. We got up and took our time getting dressed & ready for the day. DS got to play for a bit while DH and I got ourselves ready and got the bag packed. We left the room at about 8:45 and headed to the Contemporary.

We got a close parking spot, which was great, and headed inside with some time to spare before we needed to check-in for our 9:35 am ADR at Chef Mickey's.

0598.jpg

To use up the time, we decided to take a look around in the gift shops, and purchased a couple of Vinylmations.

The 2011 Vinyl

The 1st Visit Vinyl for DS

We went to go check in and found a VERY long line of people trying to do the same thing!! It was 9:27 by the time we were able to check-in, and we went first to take our picture by plastic Mickey. Only then did we see that both sides of the waiting area were packed with people, and it was going to be awhile before we got a seat.

0594.jpg

DS entertaining himself while we waited.

Luckily, it wasn't TOO long before we were seated. I have in my notes we were seated at 9:55 am. After getting DS settled in the highchair, I went up to the buffet to get myself and DS some food. There were a couple of little girls at the buffet next to me absolutely baffled by grits. They asked me to explain them, and that is just not an easy thing to do! In the end, I convinced them to just take a little scoop on their plates and try it. I wonder if they ended up enjoying them or not?

I got back to the table and broke up some food on the placemat for DS to eat...some pancake, bananas, and eggs, but he wasn't interested in eating too much. I think he was just too overwhelmed by all of the people around to be distracted by eating.

0601.jpg

DH had time to get to the buffet and grab a plate before our first character came around, Goofy!

0612.jpg

0613.jpg

We broke out our big black Vinylmation, and Goofy was the first to autograph the front! Yep, we had decided that since we were hitting 2 character meals on the trip, we could fill the front of the Vinyl with character autographs and the back with the Happy Birthday messages from around the World Showcase. I took some pics of it once it was done, so I'll post it then, but for now, here's a pic of Goofy signing the ear.

0614.jpg

So far, DS seemed to be having a good time, despite not eating a lot.

0618.jpg

This is one of my favorite pictures of him from the trip!

0624.jpg

Checking out where Goofy ran off to!

A little ways into the breakfast, our waitress brought out a cupcake for DS's birthday. I had noted it on all of our reservations, but this was the only restaurant that mentioned it, so that was pretty fun!

0633.jpg

Next up was Chef Mickey himself!

0637.jpg

Mickey signed right across the eyes

After Mickey came Pluto, who DS really loved. Mostly because he liked grabbing at his whiskers!

0660.jpg

0667.jpg

0671.jpg

We had a little gap in the characters after Pluto, so DH and I took turns going back up to the buffet for some more of the favorites, especially the Mickey waffles! I just love those, they are so light & airy! I tried some oatmeal with DS but he had never had it before, and was not a fan that morning. Now he eats it every morning for breakfast. Go figure.

Next was the lovely Minnie Mouse.

0675.jpg

0678.jpg

0681.jpg

Last up was Donald, and he came at the perfect time, because we had just about been sitting there too long & all three of us were getting restless! That must be why we have only 1 decent picture of Donald & DS.

0702.jpg

It was nearly 11 am by the time we left the restaurant and headed back to the car to go back to Bonnet Creek. DS passed out in the car promptly as we started driving back to the resort.

0715.jpg

(I'm not sure when we took his shoes off, but I assure you, he was wearing his Crocs when he was running around the waiting area!)

We got him upstairs and to the crib without waking him up, and since we had time before our "Owner's Update" was scheduled, DH and I laid down for a nice nap too. It was our "rest day" after all! Only, it didn't end up being so restful...

UP NEXT: Busy Rest Day!

Mmmmm... I loved that breakfast. I just enjoy "breakfast foods" in general though, so anytime it is the all you can eat variety it makes it that much better. Throw in some character interactions and it makes for a great morning. :thumbsup2

Looks like you guys had a great experience at Chef Mickey's.

Another great round of pictures. Haven't done CM for breakfast since 2000 when it was about 1/2 the price. CM is not a family favorite, but it is a great place to catch all 5 of the Fab 5.

I love the little girl in the background of the Donald picture --looking like "Hey,what about us?"

The baby stations were lifesavers! He is SO easily distracted when it comes to drinking his milk, if not for those BCCs he never would have finished a cup!

We are working on the table food thing, but he is still fairly frustrating when it comes to that (spitting things out halfway through a meal and crying hysterically!). I'm hoping by May when we go to DL, but definitely by next year's WDW trip, we shouldn't be needing to haul food around for him.

I was not overall impressed with November, which I planned to talk about in my wrap-up post, but the weather was one of my biggest annoyances. It was like Florida just couldn't decide if it wanted to be hot or cold! Chilly in the mornings, sweating by the afternoon. There was one day where it was really cold in the shade, but blazing hot in the sun, so my jacket was just on off on off alllllll day long! Drove me crazy. I know all of the fall months in FL can be like that, but I just wasn't overly impressed with November in general, so that was just another annoyance to add to the list! :rotfl: I sincerely hope you have a better November experience than we did! I think we just hit a perfect storm so to speak in terms of crowds.

Haha About the Saints jersey...he didn't wear it for the Saints season opener game, and they lost. The next week, we put it on him, and they won! My aunt (OBSESSED with the Saints, and the one who bought him the jersey) demanded that he had to wear the jersey for every single game for the rest of the season, no matter if he was sleeping, whatever! :rotfl: She called me up one Sunday to fuss at me because we had taken him to the zoo that day and he wasn't wearing a jersey, and was wearing the opposing team's colors (by accident of course!). That's the downfall of posting pics on Facebook, you always get caught. :rotfl2::lmao:
it gets easier with the table food eventually, you'll get there! But yeah, it can hard to eat out at that age!
I can't wait to hear the details on the wrap up for November. We are booked now officially for Nov 9-17th. We actually hope to arrive on the 8th, a Thursday night and stay in POP, then we are booked already for BLt for the rest of the nights. They have now moved the F&W marathon weekend to the 9-11th, so yeah for me. more crowds. So we will be planning around that and do maybe the family magic tour, waterpark or swim or something instead of the parks that saturday to avoid the crowds. ugh! oh well!

Will has that same pirate shirt- but the red version! i love it. I adore the pics of Paxton with Mickey- those are just priceless. How was the visa meet and greet? I've never tried it? is it just two characters? What time was it at?

We really love breakfast buffets too! I think I liked Crystal Palace more than Chef Mickey's this time around, although CM was still very good. And the characters seemed to come around a little more quickly there, which is a plus when you have a kid with a short attention span with you. :thumbsup2 The characters were great this time too, I guess because we had DS with us this time instead of last time when we were a bunch of adults!

We did this breakfast mostly because we didn't want to have to worry about standing in line to meet all the characters in the parks with DS. Although we had good character interactions at CM, they were definitely better in the parks. That combined with the hefty price may keep us away from CM until DS is a little older.

I never noticed that little girl in the Donald picture! Too funny what you can catch in the background of your Disney World pictures.

I saw the red pirates shirt in the parks and almost got it for DS! DH had gotten him the blue Mickey version when he was in Disneyland, so I thought it would be fun for him to have 1 version from each park. But we ended up not getting it in favor of getting a few other theme park specific shirts instead. Maybe next time.

The Visa Meet & Greet, I learned, can vary greatly. The first day we went, the characters spent a lot of time with DS, and the Photopass photographer took tons of photos. We went again the next day, and felt VERY rushed by the photographer, but not by the characters thankfully. Goofy was interested in how many years we were celebrating when he saw our anniversary pins, and Minnie wanted to know how old DS was, etc. Both days, the characters were great, but I guess the photographer sets the tone. :confused3 The characters rotate, but we had Goofy & Minnie both times. I think it is usually some combination of 2 from the Fab 5. It was from 1:30-4:30 in the Innoventions West building behind the Where's the Fire? game. We got there between 3:30 & 4 both times and hardly had any wait at all, plus they give you a voucher for a free 5x7 photo that you can pick up from the photo store on the way out of Epcot. You can get the voucher once a day, so you can do it multiple days of your trip and get the photo each time! They also will edit them with the Photopass borders for you before printing it.

Catching up!

I love the video of Paxton eating that french fry! Gotta love those cheeks! Aww, I also love the picture of the fish in the tank with Paxton's reflection too! AND THOSE PICS WITH CHIP AND DALE! Killing me with all this cuteness! It makes me so excited to bring my own kids to WDW for the first time, but I have to be patient as next May is the Disneymoon first!

The AK Baby Care Center sounds so nice! What a great "extra" that Disney has added! It must be a relief to have had that place to let Paxton run around and for you guys to get his food ready.

The Donald PhilharMagic Vinylmation is so cool!

How cute that your DS was making friends while waiting for the MK opening show!

I would totally have a "death grip" on my kid on Peter Pan! Sometimes I worry that I myself will fall out!

How cute that Paxton got his first haircut! I was thinking about going there to have them cut my hair to donate for the 4th time in my life. It'll be after the wedding, so I can have shorter hair, but I'm not sure if I want to do that (I like being able to just tie it all up).

WHOA, I don't remember the last time I got that soaked on Splash! Haha, but I do that jumping up and down thing. We would jump on only one leg. My mom had us do it all the time after we would get out of the pool.

That TSM rope drop craziness is something I don't want to see! Some parents get so crazy. Thankfully, you were able to reunite that little kid with his Perry!

Boo that Sci-Fi wasn't that great. At least the CM was perceptive in bringing him that glow cube!

If I were one of the 20-somethings on the boat with you guys on the Gran Fiesta Tour with the crying babies, I definitely would have taken out my camera to video it!

The birthday Vinylmation is such a great idea!

Borrow away on the Vinyl idea. We had come up with the idea for the front of the Vinyl (which will be in the next update) on a previous trip, but never did it. The idea for the Happy Birthdays came from the Vinylmation boards DH is on. :goodvibes

 I kwym!!

Thanks! I looked for a black plain vinylmation thing like that but it's discontinued so I'll have to see if I can find one on ebay. Can't wait to read about what the idea for the front was. Off to read the update :goodvibes

Hope y'all had a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Great update and pictures!! Love that the characters signed the front of the vinyl!! We got some of those disposable place mats for the trip too. I've already used some around town and they're so great!! I can't wait to go to chef mickey's!!

:goodvibes Glad to see you back! I made sure to take pictures of ALL of the Vinylmations we bought/traded this trip just for you! It was really too bad there weren't better trades to be made in the stores, because we had so much fun doing that last trip. We didn't do as much trading or buying as we did on our last trip.

 I kwym!!

Hope y'all had a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I asked DH to reply to this when he had time, but he hasn't yet. Hopefully he can give you more info soon, but apparently they will be releasing more of the solid color 9" Vinyls in the new mold soon, so that might be why you are having trouble finding the one we had.

Great update and pictures!! Love that the characters signed the front of the vinyl!! We got some of those disposable place mats for the trip too. I've already used some around town and they're so great!! I can't wait to go to chef mickey's!!

The disposable bibs & placemats were a lifesaver on this trip. DS is a messy eater, and is always dribbling milk down his front when he drinks from his sippy cup. It was so much easier having those to use than to have to worry about packing his cloth ones and finding a place to stick them once they get dirty!

Hope your family had a wonderful Christmas & New Year as well!

DAY 5 Continued: Tuesday November 8th

When I left off, we had just finished up a longer than expected character breakfast at Chef Mickey's and returned to the resort for a nap.

This is when our day started to go downhill. We had planned our Owner's Update with Wyndham this day since it wouldn't keep us from missing any park time, and we'd leave with a $100 Amex gift card to use for the rest of the trip. Then we were going to hit the pool for a little while before heading to Epcot for our dinner ADR.

We were woken up at about 12:30 by a representative from Wyndham calling the room to remind us of our 12:45 appointment. It woke DH and I up, but not DS, so we got the honor of doing that. I HATE waking that boy up when he is napping so well! But of course, both DH and I had to be present for the Update, so we bit the bullet and woke him up. We brought his milk & food with us because we knew he'd be getting hungry soon, and headed down to the 1st floor for our meeting.

Of course it started off innocently enough. They always do! But then they start going through our folder, and asking us about changes we have made in the past, asking "Why on earth would you do that?" and then delving into "For only $xxx we can change that back for you!" When we declined that, then came the hard sell to upgrade to VIP status. We kept telling them we weren't ready to upgrade yet, and that we were not parting with any of our money, but neither us or rambunctious DS was working as a deterrent. The guy working with us then got flat out rude and said if we didn't see the value in their upgrade offer, then we must not see a value in the whole thing at all.

In all it took over an hour and a half to get ourselves out of there, after being made to feel like idiots who didn't know what we were doing. Not at ALL worth the $100 reimbursement, which is why I think next time, we will decline the update and just do our next one when we actually are ready to upgrade or make a change in our contract. Just absolutely not worth the hassle!

By the time we got back to the room, there was no way we'd have a chance to get down to the pool and then bathe before heading back to the park. So again on a trip to Bonnet Creek, we have NEVER used the pool! I am vowing to rectify this next time by not planning 2 ADRs on our rest day, and not doing the owner's update. Then we will be forced to RELAX on our rest day!! So instead, DS played and had a snack while DH and I hung out around the room for a little bit. A little before 3, we got our stuff together for the evening and headed downstairs to the car.

As soon as we get outside, we realize it's raining. I ran up to the room to grab the ponchos, and by the time I got back down to the car, it wasn't raining anymore! Which was nice, I guess, but a waste of time to go get those ponchos.

Finally, we were on our way to Epcot!

We arrived in the park around 3:30 pm, so just enough time to head over and try out the Visa Meet & Greet again to see if we could meet some different characters than the day before. But first, we stopped for the obligatory Photopass picture in front of Spaceship Earth!

We went over to Innoventions and had a little longer of a wait than we had experienced the day before, but not bad at all! There were about 3 families in front of us, then it was our turn. We went behind the curtain, and saw we would be meeting Minnie & Goofy again! We were a little disappointed, but DS could care less. He was just as excited as ever!

Photo0413FourBySix.jpg

The photographer kind of tried to rush us through, but the characters were very interactive with us. Goofy pointed to my Anniversary pin and asked us how many years we were celebrating, and Minnie asked how old DS was and gave him plenty of kisses!

Once we finished up there, we made our way over to the World Showcase. As we were walking over to Italy for our ADR, we stopped in Germany so I could use the restroom. There was a line for a stall, and as I got up to the front of the line, an obviously intoxicated woman came out of the stall, got way too close to me reeking of alcohol, and said, "WOO HOO I feel so much better! That's a GREAT stall!" Seriously? :confused3 Know your limits, people!!

Looking over to Future World

We finally got over to the Italy pavilion and checked in at 4:20 for our 4:30 ADR at Via Napoli. I was so excited to try this place!!

0727.jpg

We were seated less than 5 minutes after checking in, and our waiter came right over. He was very sweet, but difficult to understand at times. He took our drink order and brought out a cup of water and a kids menu for DS even though we told him DS didn't need anything. It was nice of him, and kept DS entertained while we waited for our food!

We put in our order, and DH played around with the settings on the camera. Some of the pictures were goofy, and this one was our favorite. We call it: T-Rex Arms!

0730.jpg

We got our pizzas, and I made sure we took some pictures. DH used a fancy setting for his pepperoni pizza.

0731.jpg

I just took an average joe picture of my 4 cheese white pizza.

0732.jpg

It was DELICIOUS! Definitely a must do place for our adults only weekend in Disney next month. Just seeing that picture has me craving that pizza right now!

DH ate all of his, but I had 1/4 left that I took to go. We tried giving DS a bite of pizza, and he immediately spit it out. We assumed he must have been switched at birth, since both of us love pizza! But alas, he was not, since he has since devoured a couple slices of pizza like it was going away forever.

We stopped in Germany to check out the caramel shop, but didn't buy anything because we were still stuffed from dinner. We checked out Norway to see the wait time at Maelstrom, but it just wasn't worth the 25 minute wait. So instead, we decided to head back over to Future World. We stopped on the bridge to get our picture taken.

Living With the Land had a wait time of 0 minutes, so that's where we went next.

We walked right onto a boat with only a few other guests aboard with us. I don't think I have ever ridden this ride, or if I did, it was a looooong time ago, so it felt all new to me! DS sat quietly through the dark parts of the ride at the beginning, but by the time we got to the greenhouse, he was having more fun smiling at the British couple behind us who were happy to play with DS.

Once we got off the ride, we decided to head back to the resort. Our last picture of the night was this shot DH took of Spaceship Earth as the sun started to set.

We wandered through Mouse Gears again, and spotted a cute Santa cookie & milk tray that I began to covet but we didn't get it. We actually ended up not buying anything. Our last stop was the camera shop to get our free 5x7 portrait. We picked a group photo from our Visa M&G with the 1st Visit banner. When the CM pulled up all of the photos on our card, the first 2 were just some scary ghost thing that none of us could figure out what it was! As DH and I thought about it, we realized it was the shots from our very first afternoon at MK when we took pictures in front of the buggy at Haunted Mansion, and all that was showing up was the ghost addition instead of our pictures. I submitted a claim to Photopass to recover them, but never heard back. But at least we knew the pics were missing so we could take our picture again there next time we were in MK.

We got back to the resort by about 6:30, and we fed DS, bathed him, and got him to bed by 7:30. We were so tired, we knocked out ourselves at 8:30. This was the night DS woke up screaming hysterically at 9:00 and nothing would comfort him. We even tried taking him in bed with us, but he was just inconsolable. We put some Orajel on his gums, and finally I started singing to him and he went back to sleep. Never did figure out what was wrong, but luckily that was the only night it happened.

UP NEXT: The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things!

That's funny, i think i actually bought that shirt for Will at DL too when were there for the day in august. Love it!

Thanks for the info on the meet and greet, we will have to make time for it next trip since Will is so into characters now! and love the free photo too- did it take long to get it printed etc.?

Sorry about the hard sell during your update- what a pain! Sometimes it is just not worth it. That was the only good thing with DVC, when we did our tour, it was so easy, no hard sell at all. It was very low key. I guess the hard sell must work on some folks though, since they keep doing it- it just pisses the rest of us off though. :rotfl:right? Sorry you missed the pool too- i have the same problem. We finally made it to the pool for like 2 hours this trip, but i really wanted more pool time. Of course next time is november, so who knows what the weather will be like, hoping nice enough for a few pool days!

Love Via Napoli- so glad you got to try it finally!!!

I'd probably have said some "rude" things right back to the salesperson if I were in your situation. I don't have much patience for the hard sell. I just got done buying a new truck and I actually had to just get up and leave a dealership to keep from giving a salesman a piece of my mind.:rolleyes1 Probably a good plan to skip that part next time. Your time and that abuse probably wasn't worth $100.

I loved Via Napoli. The service was great, the pizza was great. DW says it is the best pizza she has ever had. I don't know if I can say it is the best I've ever had, but it is pretty darn close.

A nice way to end a rest day in EPCOT. Too bad Paxton was in a bad mood at bed time though. I'm glad he only did that one night.

I asked DH to reply to this when he had time, but he hasn't yet. Hopefully he can give you more info soon, but apparently they will be releasing more of the solid color 9" Vinyls in the new mold soon, so that might be why you are having trouble finding the one we had.

Oh yes I'd love to know what his insight is on this. Would be nice if there are more solid color ones coming around. I need to know what color I want to get so I can have the right color sharpie :goodvibes

Alex is a messy eater too so I totally kwym!

Thank you!
Off to read the update
