DAY 3 Continued: Sunday November 6th
After some relaxation time in the room (and seeing our Saints win!), we left the resort to head to our second park of the day, Epcot! We got in the car around 4:30, which was later than we had planned on, and which meant we missed out on doing the Visa meet & greet we had wanted to do. We hoped to catch it at least once, and to get our free 5x7!
We were able to find a spot in the Diamond parking, and in no time, we were heading through the gates into Epcot.
Since there wasn't much of a line and we were right there, we hopped onto Spaceship Earth first, thinking it would be a nice dark ride we could relax on a little bit to transition ourselves into the park. Uh, not exactly. We had a squirmy toddler to contend with instead! He decided early on he was not very interested in the attraction. We were happy to let him choose the components of our "Build Your Future" at the end since he loves playing with the screen on our iPad, but he wasn't too interested and we had to help him choose.
Extreme close up!
By the time we finished, it was about time for DS to eat, so we started looking for the Baby Care Center, which was surprisingly hard to find, at least for us. If you are facing World Showcase from Future World, it's on the left hand path near the Odyssey Center, kind of off in a corner. Once we found it, it turned out to be our top BCC choice of the trip. Although AK had a better playroom, this one was just better overall. There was again, a full kitchen, but this one had 2 separate play rooms, one with a tv and actual toys instead of just books, and another with little tables and chairs and the highchairs, so DS could run around a bit. Plus there was a room down the hall with the big cushy changing tables.
Paxton took his milk and ate his dinner, then we let him play with the toys in the playroom with another little boy who was probably about 2. He really enjoyed that because he LOVES playing with other kids!
After we left there, it was time for DH and I to fill our own bellies, so we had an unexciting dinner of burgers at Electric Umbrella before moving on to more attractions!
First up was The Seas with Nemo & Friends!
Someone saw DH taking a picture of just me & DH and offered to take a picture of all 3 of us.
We got right onto the attraction and into our clam shell with no wait. DS actually enjoyed this one and kept pointing and smiling at all of the fish as we passed.
Instead of rushing right out like we normally do, we took some time to explore the aquariums, especially the manatees which DS loved!
Before leaving, I also wanted a picture inside Bruce's mouth, which I have seen in a lot of TR's but never in person! It wasn't hard to track down, but we did have to wait awhile for our turn because kids kept running up to jump inside the mouth. There was a Photopass photographer there, and we got some really cute PP shots!
Just a pretty night shot of SE we took as we were leaving
After finishing up at The Seas, we went over to the Imagination Pavillion, and luckily made it into Journey Into Imagination just before it was about to close for the night. We got on with no wait, and only one other family in the ride vehicle with us.
This one was another big hit with Paxton. He laughed and squealed through the whole thing!
We went over to the nearby fountains to snap some pictures, and saw a pretty funny sight. Over by the jumping fountains, a couple of kids were playing while there parents sat on the nearby benches with their infant. The little boy, probably about 7 or 8, was standing in between two of the jumping fountains waiting for the water to come out, and let it hit him right in the face. He yelled out, "That was awesome!" and waited for the water to hit him again!
After snapping a few pictures, we took DS over to a secluded area of benches to change his diaper and change him into his pajamas. Since he had had his bath already, we were hoping he'd fall asleep in the car and we could just get him up to bed once we got back to the resort.
All ready for bedtime!
We were about ready to leave, but we decided to stop into Mouse Gears first, and ended up buying quite a few of our souvenirs from the trip!
A camera strap that DH had seen on ebay for a LOT more money!
A shirt for me
T-shirt for DH
A journal for my little cousin Skylar's Christmas gift
The CM who checked us out was one of the best we encountered for the whole trip. He waved to Paxton until he smiled, then noticed our Anniversary pins and asked how many years we were celebrating. We told him 4, and he said, "I may not be here by then, but when you are celebrating 50 years make sure you come back to see me! And bring Paxton!" We told him by then, he will be the one pushing us around in wheelchairs instead of us pushing him in the stroller. He was really fantastic!
We walked out to the car, and as expected, DS passed out cold in the stroller. Not only did we manage to successfully transfer him to his carseat without waking him up, we also got him out of the car, into the resort, through the lobby, up the elevator, and into the room without him opening his eyes in the slightest! What a relief. He went right into his crib, and DH and I did the same. The next morning was another all-important rope drop morning!
UP NEXT: Toy Story Mania...with a toddler!
