This afternoon my DS and I were at our WalMart Super Center doing our weekly grocery shopping and all of a sudden this woman comes from about 20 feet away straight towards me, leans around in front of me and says "Can you tell it's our 1st time here?" :rotfl: She really startled me because the way she approached me I thought she was gonna say "remember me from high school or something like that. I looked over at her cart where her teenage daugher (who my 15 year old DS was :cutie: drooling over) was standing and that cart was over flowing with stuff. They were getting ready to get a second cart. This lady was really nice but she said they only came in to buy picture frames and had no idea they had so much great stuff ::yes:: and the grocery stores couldn't touch the prices on alot of things. She was so funny :lmao: but I don't know if she realized or was prepared for the fact that she had $200 to $300 worth of stuff in her cart. She mentioned something about her husband being very surprised when she gets home. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

FUNNY FUNNY story!!!

Sounds just like ME my first time in Wal-Mart SC!!!!! Now its my daily ritual! :rotfl:

WEll if I were to give advice you need to go to the food section AFTER you go to the regular part of the store. Then again, if you buy all the non food items you might just be eating a pair of jeans or a cd the following week b/c no money is left for food.

That's too funny. :rotfl: I have been known to do one side of the store and check out, come back in to do my grocery shopping. All the stuff I needed just wouldn't fit into the cart. Is it me are do they need bigger carts? :p

Super Target has AWESOME produce and their prices are great as well. I like Super Target better as the lines are much shorter and there are a lot more cashier lines OPEN. Plus the store is cleaner than the WalMarts in the area IMO.

I wish that was the case here. I hate going to Super Target because they will only have 2-3 registers open, and theri cahsiers seem to take 2x as long as the walmart cashiers to complete a transaction. I prefer their clothing and produce, and DS buys a lot of CD's there, but I hate trying to check out.

At Walmart (as long as I avoid Fri-Sat and the first of the month) I can usually walk up to a line and be the next person in line.

Our target's produce is iffy, the milk tends to go bad before the date on the bottle, but we usually pick up those items at another store called sprouts (farmers market prices in a grocery store type atmosphere). They are building a walmart across the street from our super target, which also has a lowes and best buy near it. can you say TRAFFIC boys and girls, I knew you could :)

Wallmart - Disney ---- both amusement parks in their own way - Wonder what she would be like at Disney?!!

Whenever DH and I go to Super-Walmart my eyes glaze over and I get the shakes. It's sensory OVERLOAD. So much stuff...so little money HAHAHAH!! Seriously though, their prices blow the local supermarket right our of the water (which is sad, but thank God for it). DH doesn't love their meat department (I think they inject a red dye into much of the meat to make it look fresh), but we get just about everything else there. GREAT bakery and deli dept. Does anyone remember the SNL skit with Jennifer Garner (and Amy Poehler) where they played two greeters working at a super walmart? They had to give customers directions to the audio department:

Jennifer: Oh that's over in "Northern Walmart". Here take this poncho, I hear it's the rainy season there.

Customer: Where can I find shoes?

Amy: Shoes are in "South-west Walmart". When you get there, watch out for the locals....we hear they are warring with the tribe from Southern Housewares. Tell them we mean them no-harm.

Just work for them for six months like I did (for Sam's in Mktg).. you'll be cured FAST! :sad2:

:thumbsup2 I totally agree. I shopped at Wal-Mart in PA all the time - it was close, convenient, and very clean, but since moving to Orlando, I definitely prefer the Super Target to the Wal-Mart Supercenter. I have gone back to doing my food shopping at "normal" grocery store for the most part. Much less chance of overspending on the "non food" items at the Super stores! We have a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market that recently opened, I have only been in there once, I need to get back there and do some price comparision, I can just get in and out of my market of choice quickly as I know where everything is!

I love Super Walmart! Right now I have a regular older walmart about 10 minutes from me but plans are in the making of a super walmart within a year. Im so excited! Until it is built, I do not mind driving to Super Walmarts around here....either one will take about 30 minutes and I can spend hours in there.

Im not a Target shopper, I will run in to pick up a few items on sale but thats about it.

Wow I had heard they that employees are loyal in a cultish sort of way. My friend was working an opening for Tyson at a Wal Mat and he was there before the store opened and he said the manager and employees all got together and in circle and were chanting and praying for over a half hour. He said it kind of blew his mind.

I always think of that each time I go in a Wal Mart...does not stop me though. :rotfl:

At our WalMart Super Center I saw a group of employees do something similar that looked more like a miniature pep :cheer2: rally they were having in the corner of the bakery section. I had to circle for quite a while waiting to get into that area since I didn't want to disturb them. :dance3:
