Okay, I've been to WDW a bunch of times and enjoyed almost all of my visits but never quite like the way I enjoyed Disneyland for my first time this past weekend. We did not get to see all of the parks and there are things we were sad to have missed but are already talking about going back.

Each member of my family really enjoyed our vacation and I think we are now DL converts. We stayed at DL Hotel, participated in the 5k, kid's races, and the half marathon. We LOVED the weather, really took a relaxed time this year and could completely see us living in CA full time. I know our view was severely skewed since we never left DL but the weather alone got us.

The hotel was gorgeous and we were very comfortable. I really want to find out who makes that daybed in the room because I could certainly use one in my house. It was very comfortable and easy to use.

I think we enjoyed DL more than we have ever enjoyed WDW. Now, more than before, I want my DH to get a new job in CA. Yes, we'll still have a commute but not a 6 hour flight or a major time difference.

Your reaction was similar to mine after visiting WDW 5 times & then visiting Walt's Park for the first time (in 40 years).

Have you done a trip report? (please link it).

If you haven't....get busy. :lmao:

Seriously....thanks for posting & i'm glad you enjoyed your visit.

:)

Wow, glad you had a good experience! Thanks for the report. :)

I find your post really interesting because I was just at DL this weekend (Staying at DL Hotel) for the first time after more visits to WDW than I can count and had the exact opposite reaction!

I came into town to run the half marathon and to get my Coast to Coast medal and while I agree with you that the weather was fantastic, I found myself thinking over and over again that I like WDW so much better. I feel like I saw everything there was to see in the three days I was in town and I was actually starting to get bored.

I'm really glad that I finally made the trip to DL but I don't think I'll be coming back. It's just not "my park" the way the MK at WDW is.

One thing I did love: how close together it all is. Loved walking to Downtown Disney for the great food and the live music and then being able to head back to the park.

hmonkeyruns --- Maybe we saw each other.... ;)

Thurs, Fri, and Sat were such easy days at the park and we did so many things. even going on the rides with the same names as the one's in WDW, the rides were different. Everything was nice and compact and you didn't have to walk so far to get on the next ride. we never waited for more than 15 minutes until Sunday, by then we were so tired and off in time that we only did a few rides since the lines were so long. Those instant fast passes really got their use on Sunday. We used them on Star tours and Space Mountain. Matterhorn was an awesome ride on Thursday, walked right on and could have done it again when we got off but we were hungry and never made it back to it.

Glad you had a good time, and thank you both for sharing your experiences. I enjoy reading about everyone's experiences, whether they are good or bad. :flower:
