First Timers here....

What is a repositioning cruise?

Does Disney ever offer a cruise longer than 7 days?

TIA :flower:

A repositioning cruise is when they move the boat from one port to another for the purposes of offering a different set of cruises. In Disney's case they moved the Magic from Port Canaveral to Los Angeles for the summer to offer Mexican Riviera cruises as part of DL's 50th celebration. Those that traveled from Port Canaveral to Los Angeles were part of the westbound repositioning cruise and it was a 14 day journey. On August 20th they bring the Magic back to Florida and are offering the next "repo". These repo cruises sail through the Panama Canal, which is a first for DCL. We have had our August repo booked since May 2004, and can't wait. It is again a 14 day trip. I believe there are a few cabins left. The last couple of years they have also offered a 10 day holiday cruise in the Carribbean.

In 1999 we took a repositioning cruise on Norwegian from Hawaii back to California. This was one leg of a journey moving the ship from Alaska back to the Carribbean for the winter. Many times you can get really good prices on these repositioning cruises.

The repositioning cruses are for the Magic going to California for this summer. There will be 2 of them - one taking the Magic to cali, the other to bring it back to PC. The first one occured May 14 - 28 & the returning the Magic will be on Aug 20 - Sept 3.

DCL does have some 10 day cruises usually around Christmas.

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like fun!! :flower:
