Can i make sure i get the alligator bayou room? i would be so disappointed to get there and not get that room and so would the kids since this is their Christmas present

Book preferred... But if you are willing to take a chance, you could also just call and request that section. That is what I've done and I've been lucky. And if you get there and are not assigned a AB room, you can ask again and tell you are willing to wait for an AB room. The chances you get one is really high.

I've never stayed at Pop but I've seen parts of it and would only stay there if I couldn't afford anything else.

I'm on the Pop century train. We love Pop! It's a great value to get all the Disney perks (EMH, bus, ME, etc). We always use the money that we could've used on a "better" resort toward souvenirs and nice dinners and experiences. Happy planning

This is a very good point! With children so young, they aren't going to remember or care about the hotel room...they'll care about what they did all day long at the theme park. And they'll remember it from all the souvenirs you'll be able to bring home with all the money you saved (by staying at Value instead of Moderate).

But the bed-size is also important. For many families of 4, double beds are just too narrow. You'll just have to decide.

I'd book POP if I were you, and save the extra money! Your kids are young and they are going to LOVE the theming at POP! We haven't stayed at POR, but visited friends there and I thought the decor was boring, especially when compared to POP. The value rooms aren't that much smaller than the moderate rooms, and both have in-room refrigerators. As long as you know that there are double beds at POP vs. queen beds at POR and your family is comfortable with this (or are willing to do 1 kid and 1 adult per bed in the double beds), you'll be fine. For only three nights, I'd definitely stay at POP and use the extra money for other fun things!
