Hi, Newbie here.
We are going to WDW Sept 20th. It's our first time as a family. My girls are 7 and 4 yrs old. Am I too late to call and reserve Bippity Boppity for the crown treatments? I will call but what day should I plan for it? The first day we are there Sunday 9/21 and what time is best? Has anyone gone anywhere special afterward like out to dinner. What is the most fun to do for this age? We will be bringing our own costumes. :cool1:
TIA

I hope you can get a reservation for the Bippidy Boppidy Boutique. Just like my girls did, your girls will absolutely love getting pampered. Afterwards, my girls were happy just walking around the Magic Kingdom so they could "show off," lol. As far as what day you should take them depends on what you have planned for the vacation because you want the style to last a couple of days or so. So think about what you will be doing on your trip such as hanging out at the pool/swimming or anything else that could ruin their hair then you can decide. Also try going during the week rather than the weekend. By late Sept most people are back in school and the parks won't be as busy during the weekdays. Hope that helps. Good luck and let us know how it goes:)

Hi Michelle, and welcome!!!

This is the first time for my kids as well, and my first trip since 1990. (My husband cheated and chaperoned the Senior trip in April :) )

There's a LOT you can do to make this trip more special for your kids:
1) Take a look here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1437421 There are 2 summaries, one on the last page and one on post #562 or somewhere around there.

2) Can we assume you have ADRS made for any table service meals?

3) I don't know about getting BBB reservations-- it's not in our budget. But you can take your girls to the Main St. barbershop in the Magic Kingdom for a "glitter 'do" in the $10 range.

4) Make sure you get your girls a "first time in WDW" button to wear. You can get it at guest services in the parks or possibly in your resort.

5) Arrange to have a post card come ahead of time from WDW, anticipating your visit. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=842646 My kids got theirs yesterday and went wild!

6) If, by some chance, you have reservations at the Coral Reef, you can arrange to have a personalized menu with pictures of your family.

7) The BEST advice I found anywhere came from Tour Guide Mike's site. In essence, here's what it said:
No one ride, no meal, no parade, no ANYTHING should have the power to make or break your trip. So if you don't get BBB reservations, don't mention it to the kids and move on. If your kids are simply too tired to see Fantasmic, it's OK. If you have to skip a dinner resevation and have pizza in the room that night, it's OK. The big picture is that you're on vacation together, enjoying each other's company. It's not about "getting your money's worth" or anything similar.

8) The second best piece of advice I've read is to make sure you get back to the resort each day after lunch for a nap or swim. My kids are total water rats; it's not a vacation if they don't swim.

Have a wonderful trip!!

Ideally, I do this in the am so they can wear thier do's all day. If you want to know, calling WDW would be best.

I'd also say, in our family, the $50 price tag is kind of steep. Call me cheap, but for less money, I can do the hair myself, get glitter hairspray (look in Halloween costume stores, or girlie stores or maybe CVS or Sephora) Sephora actually has all kinds of semi-subtle glitter make up. You can get her nails done before you go to WDW at a local salon for about $15, maybe less.

(We've done this as adults with our family....we call the glitter hairspray pixie dust..one can and everyone in the family can have glitter hair every day of the trip! the guys don't tend to go for it too much though! Bagh! )

Dresses can be more difficult but again, Halloween is around the corner, so Dinsey princess costumes aren't hard to find this time of year. Try Disney Store, online DS, Target, Kmart, Walmart.

Beyond that, you can find all the special hair clips and fake hair on sale in the WoD store in DTD (one of the two places they have BBB.) I don't know about the place in the castle, they might ahve stuff for sale there. Probably. Next door to where they do the updos is Tinkerbell's Treasures giftshop that has long been aplace to get princess stuff. They also sell this stuff elsewhere at WDW, but that's one place I KNOW has a great selection.

Incidentally DO look around Tinkerbell's Treasures...you'll eventually find Tinkerbell going around the shop. If you are the first guest of the am, they let you 'wake up Tinkerbell,' or at least they used to do that.

All in all, maybe not as magical as doing it at WDw, but it depnds on your child. Some salons won't do children manicures (insurance? state laws?) Some will do kids for free.

Oh, one more thing....at WDW individual resorts sell temporary tattoos...you can find these at your local party favor store for much less, sold as party favors. Once, in the WS of Epcot, in the Japan gift shop. I got this really cool temporary tattoo glitter paint. It came with a stencil, and I still have teh tube of paint like five years later. It only cost about $5 a tube, and each tube came with a stencil. I have used it a number of times. The tube is starting to dry up, but I REALLY got my money's worth out of it. The 'tattoos' came out REALLY pretty too. They last about four days. One stencil was a butterfly, the other a round design. I got pink and purple. I have looked for it since, and found it again, but I will look again next trip.
